Fitted the bill exactly.
We were initially looking for good pizza somewhere within walking distance of our Hollywood Hotel, and spotted this place on Trip Advisor. It fitted the bill perfectly, though in the end we decided on a fish dish and were extremely happy with the simple way it was cooked and presented. The lava chocolate cake desert listed white chocolate as part of the dish but our waiter offered the warning that it was “only a drizzle”. Just as well that was the warning, otherwise it could have been slightly disappointing. Only slightly, because it was delicious. If one was being picky the tiramisu didn’t quite compare in excellence as it lacked the expected flavor hit. Incidentally, the pizzas did look magnificent and if we were staying longer we would have returned for them. So nice to find such a good place tucked away from the tourist melee, but within 10 mins walk of Hollywood Boulevard.

Visited this restaurant couple years ago didn’t have a great experience , we enjoyed much improved service , and food was good also everyone in group liked presentation and food quality was good also . Definitely going back
Be the first to ReplySimply stated: this place is superb
Our experience was just superb! We went with one of our adult daughters, her husband and a grandson. The food was exceptional, the service very prompt and professional, it was not as noisy as some L.A. places (we could visit!) and the prices, while not inexpensive, were reasonable (as they go these days). Our "kids" had been before -- and on our next visit from NY we are very likely to return.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent pizza that brought back memories of Naples
This restaurant was recommended by a friend as being authentically Napoleon pizza. So I ordered the Margarita and it was great (not quite as great of my memory of Naples, but close). The crust was perfect. The pizza was a little more expensive than I expected but it is comparable ($22 for a margarita pizza). The location is hard to notice from the street and not the best parking situation, but I found street parking around the corner. But once inside it is completely different then the outside. Roomy with indoor and outdoor seating.
Be the first to ReplyNice evening
My husband and I went here one evening for dinner during our honeymoon. Very nice place, friendly service. We both had pizza, very expensive but in line with the prices, I must say they were good. The only advice I can give is to take just one pizza and divide it in two, because they are really huge! I would go back

Very nice place, American-sized pizza but with an Italian flavour. Efficient service. Prices not excessive. We liked it and recommend it
Be the first to ReplyGreat pizza, crazy prices
Excellent pizza, being far from home you don't expect to find one this good outside of Italy. I liked the pasta less. The crazy bill for us Italians, almost 200 euros for two pizzas, a pasta and some simple mid-range wine. But for the USA it's normal... Italians though, be careful, if you want to spend the right amount for a pizza... it's not the right place

I was looking forward to dinner at this restaurant after a trip to Italy this summer had me longing for Neapolitan pizza. Unfortunately, my experience at Da Michele left a bad taste in my mouth -- and less so because of the food. The pizzas weren't as spectacular as in Naples, but adequate. The crust could have been less soggy. My real issue with this restaurant is management. Before I get into that, I do want to give credit to our server, Destiny, who was cordial and attentive. Her manager, however, was dismissive and unhelpful. We went to the restaurant on a drizzly night and were seated outside between two large awnings with a 2-3 foot gap in the middle. When we asked the manager to be moved to an open table in the center of the awning, she told us the table was reserved and wouldn't make a difference in terms of getting wet (mind you we also had a reservation). She offered us the bar, which isn't great for a group of 4 so we stayed put. Once the rain picked up, we were all getting wet and the table where she claimed it "wouldn't make a difference to be moved" was completely dry. Mid-meal a table inside became available, and we moved there. We then ordered cannoli which came with pistachio (not listed on the menu). My friend, who is allergic to pistachio, began experiencing a reaction to the unlisted ingredient, but thankfully she had an epipen. The manager returned again and wasn't really empathetic and told us that the item came with pistachio ice cream -- insinuating that we were to blame. We argued that my friend didn't touch the ice cream at all (it was in a separate container) and that the menu had described the cannoli as having hazelnuts, not pistachios. After some back and forth, the manager comped the dessert but left us feeling humiliated. This is a trendy restaurant on the Westside with a predominantly white clientele. We left this bad experience wondering if the manager would have taken our concerns more seriously and treated us with more empathy and respect if we weren't a group of 4 BIPOC women. Also, the bathroom was pretty gross and one of the 2 toilets was broken.
Be the first to ReplyThe real Neapolitan pizza
Historic Neapolitan restaurant transplanted into the heart of Hollywood without losing quality. The pizza and the first courses are also very good. Beautiful and well-kept location and attentive and quick service. Prices in line with restaurants of this level.
Be the first to ReplyHigh expectations
In search of a Neapolitan pizza after a month in the States we trusted a historical name like Michele (which the waiter pronounced Miscel). Clearly, to be a pizzeria in the heart of Hollywood, in a certain sense we had to adapt to the tastes and preferences of the place, losing a little authenticity. The pizzas that came out of the oven were typically Carrota di Carro, inviting in appearance, but the one on the Margherita and Margherita Sbagliata was neither fiordilatte nor provola. Overall, a not entirely convincing experience given that Michele a Forcella is an institution with a heavy name, but perhaps our expectations were too high...

Nice friendly staff great ambiance most seating are outside there are heaters but cold front sweeping los Angeles , heaters didn t help much , pasta plates were delicious but pizza could use more prosciutto all in all it was a more than average dinner experience
Be the first to ReplyFood is ok Very poor service
I dined there last night with my family. The food is OK but the service was very poor. When we ordered Pizza we specifically requested red pepper flakes with our Pizza . We got the pizza but no red pepper flakes. Then I had to ask red pepper flakes three more times for my Pizza , finally when we got I was done eating the Pizza.
Be the first to ReplyA Miss For Vegan Diners
We came with a large group of 10. My sister and I are vegan and didn’t choose this place. We were disappointed to find that their vegan entree option consisted of pizza dough with sauce and pieces of garlic on it. No exaggeration. We cook most days of the week and our homemade vegan pizzas would blow this one out of the water. If you want authentic Italian pizza (which we’ve had) and don’t want to deign to provide a vegan option even when you’re in Southern California that’s fine, but don’t slap bread and sauce on the menu and call it vegan. Service was fine except when the server forgot to bring my sister a birthday dessert when he said he would and instead brought the check.

This place is a gem in the middle of the chaos! We came for dinner on our one night in LA after reading good things and our expectations were exceeded. The vibe is really nice and the staff are all really accommodating and friendly. The food is ridiculously delicious! We started with some lively cocktails and we were pleasantly surprised that they were generous pours! For a starter we opted for the eggplant and burrata and it was amazing. The flavors were delicious and worked so well. We then had a pesto pizza and caccio e pepe and we are still arguing over which was more delicious. The pizza is proper, like back in Italy, the dough super thin yet somehow airy and chewy. DELICIOUS. The pasta was the best I have had since Italy(my sister lives there) - the sauce was perfect, nice and smooth and flavorful. We couldn’t shove anything else down otherwise the desserts looked tempting- next time for sure! This place is solid and highly recommended!

Good new American Italian food in lively happening atmosphere. Wish I could have tried so many but pizzas, pasta and especially Brussels sprouts were outstanding.

Just a couple of blocks away from the Hollywood Walk of Fame, this is a great Italian place, with an excellent menu. Can't find better cacio e pepe this side of Rome. “Torta di Nonna” for dessert also got surpassing marks.
Be the first to ReplyBest Italian Food in LA!
A lot of Hollywood is sketchy and at first glance, this place was too. Then I walked in and it was magical. Two indoor/outdoor terraces; a big lively bar; casual, comfortable decor and clientele; and oh yeah, that food. The pizza is out-of-this-world, the pastas are perfect, and the salads were sublime. I can't wait to back for their branzino and burger and whateverI can eat. And save room for gelato because it's insanely good. The portions aren't so big that you can't eat a couple of different courses and sharing gives you even more choices to sample.
Be the first to ReplyPopular pizza place with al fresco dining
Popular pizza place with al fresco dining and takeout. They're currently open during covid and you can make reservations online via their website. There’s valet parking available, or you can try your luck with neighborhood parking (2 hour limit) in the surrounding streets, but read the signs! There’s an outdoor waiting area and before you get seated, you check in with the hostess and can wait by the fireplace before being led to your table.
The inside bar is airy, but the outdoor patio dining is very cute. The place is romantic and good for small groups. You can check out the menu via QR code but you absolutely have to get a pizza (it’s the whole point of coming here). We got an order of the small montanara (4) which I’d describe as donut holes with marinara (I mean this in the best way). The dough is light and perfectly crispy; it’s dusted with a fine layer of cheese and sits atop a bed of arugula. For three people, we split two pizzas and had quite a few leftover. The Diavola was my favorite since it had a bit of spice, but the bianca is good for white sauce lovers. The crust is the best, and you can watch the chefs make the food from the open kitchen.
I saw quite a few people do takeout, but the pizza is obviously best when it comes straight from the oven since it does cool down relatively quickly. Takeout is available. They have brunch on the weekends and a full bar. Credit cards are accepted. Overall, this was a great place to have some good food with good company.
We loved this place! Amazing!
We loved this place! The appetizers were delicious! Grilled octopus and Aranchini were amazing! The margarita pizza, Cesar salad and papperdelle were also great! We also enjoyed their award winning blueberry basil gelato and cannolis. We were stuffed but took our leftovers home. Such a cozy setting and the owner came over to check on us too which was really nice! Loved it and would highly recommend stopping in. Must make a reservation tho and they have nice valet parking too. It was the first time that our daughter had been out to eat since moving to LA in June 2020 for her residency at LA county hospital so she loved it! Excellent !
