Oh my! Was so pleased to eat here on short notice as it was so close to our B&B and we were hungry and it was raining! My luck continued with a warm welcome, followed by a meal as fresh, delicious, and beautiful as could be, served with enthusiasm in a cozy space, while listening to a variety of uplifting music. Most importantly, of course, the food was top notch, but I loved the feeling that the team there was as delighted as I was with my enjoyment of the meal:) Thank you!!! I am so happy for all who have the opportunity to enjoy dinner at Land & Sea in Dingle!
Be the first to ReplySpectacularly delicious dinner along Main Street Dingle.
Oysters were over the top! Our fish entrees likewise. Presentation, wow. All five star!!

One of those truly memorable meals. Visually lovely, and exquisite flavors, perfectly cooked. We had squid, monkfish carpaccio, and a lovely piece of hake. As for vegetables (not usually a strong point in Irish restaurants) the greens were gently steamed. Who grows bok choy in Kerry? And the salad was nicely composed, fresh and nicely dressed. We almost never have dessert, but...fresh strawberries with a scoop of sorbet with shards of crunchy meringue flavored with mint. Well considered wine list, and not only are some wines available by the glass, but also by the carafe -- about two thirds of a bottle. Sometimes that's just the right amount for two. We had a graceful verdejo. Lovely service, lovely room. This is the place.

So many fabulous restaurants to pick from in Dingle, but we settled on this one for dinner tonight (made reservations last night). We started with the French onion soup--a special starter for the night. I am a French onion soup snob. It's one of my all-time favorite soups and I've tried it all over the world (including France). Many times, it's way too salty. This version was a bit different in that there was no melted cheese over the top. Instead they served it with an incredible, garlicky, cheesy, herby, piece of garlic toast. Delicious, and the melted cheese really wasn't missed. Unfortunately, the toast was gobbled before the picture was taken. Soup's flavor was among the best I've tried. Perfectly seasoned. First main was the cider-braised pork cheeks which were melt-in-your-mouth delectable--better than we had even anticipated. We thought they may be fatty like short ribs, but they were actually much leaner, Very different dish and I had to keep myself from licking the sauce/gravy off the plate, it was so tasty. Second main was the pan grilled hake in a champagne sauce. That was delicious too. The champagne sauce was perfectly balanced and a great accompaniment to the fish. The fish was perfectly cooked--not dry and not undercooked. Wonderful dish. Again, too full to consider dessert, but those ordered around us looked quite beautiful. Can definitely see why this is a Michelin-rated restaurant. The food is not hyped up, and seems very much deserving of their Michelin recognition.

When in Dingle, there are an overwhelming number of choices for food. We were looking for an upscale restaurant to celebrate our anniversary. Our innkeeper mentioned Land to Sea, and that it was new but very nice. We were so glad we took a chance on a place without lots of reviews yet. They have a beautiful space that is chic and inviting without being too formal. The staff was attentive, friendly and very knowledgeable. And the food was excellent! For starters, we had the Crispy Squid, and a crabmeat salad special. Both were really nice. The presentation and use of flavorful sauces on each plate added to the experience, and the seafood was super fresh. For the main course, my husband had the braised lamb neck. We'd never tried that cut before but it was delicious and tender. And I had a special of a locally caught fish that was fantastic. We loved this place and wish we had it in our town. Check it out while it is still easy to get a reservation!
Be the first to ReplyLand to Sea is a gem in Dingle.
They are definitely Michelin level. My wife's Seafood Chowder as a starter was amazing. My squid starter was very tasty. For dinner, my wife had an stunning John Dory in a saffron sauce. My lamb was by far the best I'd found In Ireland. The staff was on it, made great recommendations and was very personable. Look no further.
