La Tour Restaurant Vail Reviews from The Last Year
exceptional experience!
I went with family to celebrate 3 birthdays, mothers day late, a graduation and a mother is be in august! I have to say it is by far the best restaurant in Vail! The service was outstanding, thank you Maddie! The food was exceptional, I had the 7oz manhattan steak cooked to perfection! My sister and Niece had the halibut and loved it! My brother in law raved about the salmon. My nephew had the duck and enjoyed it. We had a charcuterie as an appetizer and all had dessert. I had the creme Brulee it was the best I have ever had. I highly reccommend La Tour! It was absolutely delicious and exceeded all of our expectations! Thank you La Tour and Maddie!
I would compare La Tour to the French Laundry when Tom
I would compare La Tour to the French Laundry when Tom Keller was cooking! Best restraint in Vail by far. Everything was to die for, Escargot, Foie Gras, Oysters, lobster bisk, French Onion Soup were are starters! I had the Black Truffle Cod was best piece of fish I have ever had! Incredible meal with great wine list and fantastic service! Best meal we had in vail as we went to every high end restaurant, we where there for 10 days. If you go to vail and are looking for a great meal priced very reasonable for fine dining don't miss going to La tour.
If you are going to Vail, this is a must for dining.
The food is incredible everything tastes amazing and beautiful presentation. They do a great job pairing wine with your meal as well. ItI's a charming restaurant as each room has its own character. The staff is friendly and knowledgable. We go there every year when we are in town!
THE BEST FOOD IVE HAD IN AGES have to also try to loaded
THE BEST FOOD IVE HAD IN AGES have to also try to loaded scalloped potatoes! Jareth was our waiter and he was also the best!!!
Great service, exceptional food! Our group enjoyed
Great service, exceptional food! Our group enjoyed cocktails and mussels in the bar before being seated. I had a perfect dry martini which paired perfectly. We enjoyed all the courses, most notably the hibachi oysters and Alaskan cod. Superb!
Came here for Max's birthday, he wanted French and insisted
Came here for Max's birthday, he wanted French and insisted on this place - La Tour. I was a little concerned, because there are a lot of haters on the reviews... but I've been telling Max, I'm very glad he picked this place. Food was amazing. Service was impeccable. I honestly call out everybody who gave a low rating and criticized the food - You are the reason Yelp is dead and broken. We ordered - caesar, french onion soup, Hibachi Oysters and bread service to start - every item was delectable. Entrees - Lamb trio, five spice duck, manhattan steak, and black cod. Amazing every item. Each of the five in our party whole-heartedly agree. Yelpers are a joke, this place is EXCEPTIONAL - service, food, and beverage.
Exceptional & flavorful French cuisine.
Wonderful attention to detail, and the wine list. Hmm. Our best experience so far this week.
What can you say about an establishment that was founded
What can you say about an establishment that was founded almost 25 years ago.... It may have once been a great place to dine and the wine list is impressive but there are other places I would spend my dinning dollars. The food is good, lots of butter and salt ensure that, but our party of 4 agreed nothing was outstanding. If you're a vegetarian there is one lonely entree to choose from. The service was acceptable, nothing other that. To add insult to injury bread ( not even very good) will set you back $9. The setting is ok but starting to look a bit tired and in need of updating. In my option this place needs a major reset and even then not sure it would be much better that a place for visitors who don't know better to choose as a last resort
So incredibly happy with this place.
It was one of the best dinners I've ever had. The food was incredible (appetizer, entrees and desert). Our server Jeff was so on top of it. Definitely recommend getting him if you're able to. The ambiance is absolutely wonderful. Between the fire place, music and lighting. I will definitely come back if I'm ever in vail again.
I don't think this restaurant is as good as it was.
We made a reservation 6 weeks in advance and our table was in a poor location. We are pretty regular customers when we visit Vail. They have bread service on the menu for nine dollars and it was a pretty lousy bread selection. Hardly worth the price. I ordered Duck Breast and it was pretty tough to cut. I didn't complain as I didn't want to spoil the evening for the others. We are not cheap diners we spent almost 900.00 dollars for five guests. There are plenty of good restaurants in Vail and I think we will give this one a pause.
The service was terrible.
Glass cup broke and server did not fully clean up. Food took forever to come out. Ambiance was good. But the food was good.
Fabulous meal at La Tour over New Year's week.
Food was delicious, great wine options and our waiter was charming and helpful.
This restaurant is seriously overrated - both as to food
This restaurant is seriously overrated - both as to food and atmosphere. There is very little interesting about the menu. The bar-b-que oyster dish was cold even though it was served on top of something that resembled a pu pu platter flaming centerpiece, which was neither flaming nor hot. The onion tart appetizer was mediocre at best and looked like a corner piece cut out of a rectangular pizza. It was served with a huge pile of arugula in vinaigrette that dwarfed the "tart". The bread service, which was a la carte at $9, was cold. The scallop appetizer special, which they didn't charge us for, had one scallop that was sandy and tasted of bleach and was served over a risotto that tasted like a boxed rice mix from the grocery store. My husband's cod entree, which the waiter strongly recommended multiple times over my husband's desired order of halibut, was more like cod marinated in grocery store teriyaki than what you would expect for a $60 entree. Save your money and cook dinner yourself.
This place is Super nice Excellent service super detailed
This place is Super nice Excellent service super detailed orientated and attentive The food is amazing, everything that we order was great
Disaster new year.
Disaster new year!! Prepaid dinner. We arrived on time 7:15 pm. 8 pm. Still standing at the door. 1400 prepaid and stinging in a crowded entrance.
Yum!
We were able to get early reservations at the last minute---and what a find! The burrata was great, the lobster bisque was just ok (I think it was missing lobster), and the onion soup was okay, but the star was the dessert cheese plate that had both fruit and bread! Great beer selection, too.
Just outstanding!
We carried out Thanksgiving dinner 2023, and it was over-the-top wonderful. We are sop thankful La Tour did carryouts. We will be back!
Great Hidden Spot in Vail
The halibut is absolutely delicious. Planning multiple visits to try the entire menu. Something for everyone in the family.
Great family dinner
Honestly Iโm quite surprised by these recent negative reviews! We first dined here in 2017 and it left a very positive impression. When we returned to Vail this year, we went down memory lane and came back to La Tour. Itโs as charming and cozy as we remembered. Everything was good - the escargots, the bone marrow, duck breast entree, and especially the sticky toffee pudding for dessert.
Late dinner July 13 at La Tour
Other than the competent and attentive waiter La Tour was a serious disappointment. The menu is overpriced and the items we ordered were mediocre to unpleasant. Avoid the vichyssoise.
LaTour needs some love
Ridiculous $25+ per person deposit required. They refund it 7 to 10 days AFTER you dine and do NOT take it off you dining check as we expected Restaurant was not busy. Waiter STUNK of cigarettes Escargot was not hot. French onion soup was not hot. Salad was good. Will not go back
