La Taverna Del Leone Laurito Reviews from The Last Year
Highlight of my honeymoon
Came here on our honeymoon - my wife is vegan. You’d think it’d be nearly impossible to find a vegan meal here in positano … but enter Giuseppe and his team. Reservations at 7:45, we arrived early on a Saturday and were seated at 7:15. From the minute we sat down, we knew this would be the best meal we had in positano. My wife had vegetables, marinara pizza and a a salad I had the seafood plate and the palamida fish dish. I’ve never experienced such a thrill. Highly recommend. The wines!! The wines!! Ordered a bottle and then some more ! Giuseppe, my wife and i are going to name our first born after you!!! Come here. Come here asap!!
Worth the effort - great food and reasonable prices - many vegetarian options!
Service and ambience outstanding! Recommended by a local retailer and did not disappoint. We arrived early and were seating without delay. Waitstaff attentive and knowledgeable. They were happy to accommodate a vegetarian request, offered quite a few options, along with reasonable priced wines. We asked if they could call a taxi back to our hotel and they arranged for a driver - very kind. Not overpriced, large portions (the pizza was delish!) and efficient service - do not miss an opportunity to experience this restaurant!
A very special restaurant
We visited this restaurant on our last evening in Positano. Wonderful warm atmosphere and delicious food. I highly recommend a visit. It was a wonderful way to end what was a special trip for us.
Excellent food
All very good!! Excellent quality of food, very kind and professional staff, very nice place. Super recommended!!
Hidden gem in Positano.
From the moment we walked in we knew we had made the right choice. It was actually recommended by our concierge, Martina. The food was presented like a 5 star restaurant and the quality and flavors matched these stars. The tuna and local white fish tartare were like butter and not overly seasoned. We had the lamb and the pasta, which were both delicate and rich in layers of hidden flavors. We will definitely visit again on our next trip to Positano.
Beautiful restaurant
The dining room was immaculate with a view of the working kitchen. The wait staff were pleasant and helpful and patient with our limited Italian. But the food was absolutely spectacular! What a wonderful dining experience we had. The parking can be tricky as with almost anywhere you go in Italy, but not as bad as others. We highly recommend having a meal here.
Everything perfect, refined just the right amount and great atmosphere
Located just outside Positano, elegant and welcoming. Giuseppe is a great, polite and cultured host who is also pleasant to talk to. In a perfect Sunday atmosphere we ate excellent fresh fish, and more. I preferred land dishes. Excellent even though my dish of black garlic linguine and broccoli cream with almond brittle was just a little salty. It was not included in the price. The fillet cooked at low temperature with the ronner is excellent. The small Sicilian cannoli are exceptional. If I have to find a small flaw, considering the season that is still about to restart and the refreshed wine lists, it is a shortage on this point, especially on the requested rosé wine. Don't miss this culinary experience and beyond!!!!!!!
Good restaurant on the Amalfi coast
One of the few quality restaurants open in Positano during the Christmas holidays! The environment is perhaps a little dated, but the beautiful open kitchen brings some points back. We tried the €65 5-course fish tasting menu, all good, fresh and well executed. The service was accurate, the timing was right, the bill was adequate for how much we ate. All in all we leave satisfied.
Very good.
Excellent food, very tasty original dishes. The open kitchen is definitely a plus. The staff is very courteous and professional, and the place is very elegant and well-kept.
Sweet cuddle
Sublime dinner for a special evening organized by my partner. The place is welcoming, with a romantic atmosphere, framed by the professionalism and kindness of the owners, a significant cuddle, the candle on my portion of dessert and a light chorus from the other tables involved in a "happy birthday". Thank you so much.
We were wandering around and ran into this place on the way
We were wandering around and ran into this place on the way to Positano. Didn't have internet to look up the place. Anyways, there are a couple of elderly women in the kitchen and they are very kind and made eye contact even though they didn't speak English. We were the only family dining and there were bunch of hotel staff walking around including the owners but made no eye contact or care to smile or acknowledge us. Didn't feel welcome. The food: I cannot comment on the taste because I am not used to the Italian food like the way they served but the cheesecake was out of the world. Open kitchen is fantastic. I would have given a 4 star had the other staff around us made eye contact/smiled/said hi. I got street food in Pompeii in a place called Pollesteria, the food and service there was much better. Later on i realized that this place has Michelins star and that just shows that Michelins star is not credible. I give three stars for the elderly ladies in the kitchen and for the cheesecake. They also charged 3 Euro for 2 year old which no other place did in Italy. Otherwise poor value for money. Also for all other reviews that tells good things about uncooked fish, you don't need a good cook to serve uncooked stuff you just need a good sourcing person. If you are a tourist that wants to have a good experience and willing to pay for it then don't go here just go to any other restaurant on Italy streets you will be happy.
Esperienza Favolosa!
A friend of ours, Lorenzo, recommended La Taverna del Leone for dinner. The owner, Peppe, treated us like Royalty. The food was some of the best we had in all of Italy. Each course was wonderfully prepared, with a creatively-styled presentation, and absolutely delicious. The restaurant's ambience was warm and inviting. I highly recommend this lovely restaurant.
Truly one of the best meals of my life.
I will never forget it!! Everything was perfectly flavored, coursed and paired.

I have a notice stating that my bid has been accepted and is awaiting transfer. The reservation is for the 18th, but the “moderator” said he will confirm booking by the 28th. Is this an indicator that I may not have a reservation?

Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
