Perfect rest
We stayed here as we wanted a few days rest from travelling and we are so pleased we did. The hotel is situated in large grounds with a lake. Charming staff. Thank you especially to Gils and Aude, Constance & Tiffany
Be the first to ReplyA superb experience
My wife and I recently spent a night at La Chapelle Saint Martin. It was a superb experience which started from check-in. Before showing us the room the front desk employee took us with him to tour the property which was a nice attention. Our room (number 5) was on the second floor looking over the entrance and the access road. This is clearly not the best location. I definitely recommend selecting a room on park side. The room was comfortable and well appointed (flat screen TV, coffee machine, safe, ...). Some amenities such as mineral water, pastries and fruits were also provided. However, even by French/European standards the room was not very spacious. The bathroom was also relatively small but equipped by top-notch faucets and toiletries. Special mention however to the room air conditioning system that was both efficient and very silent. We had dinner on the terrace facing the vast park and the surrounding countryside. This is really a peaceful and relaxing setting. Service was friendly, professional and efficient. Although the "amuse-bouche" was relatively unremarkable the following dishes were clearly up to the one-star Michelin ranking. The langoustine starter we shared was tasty and well executed. So were the main courses, the Limousin veal for me - one of the restaurant's signature dishes - and the sea bass for my wife. Dessert, a combination of raspberries and blueberries with a very thin pastry, was light and simply delicious. I also enjoyed breakfast which offers a great variety of options and largely relies on home-made products (the brioche was outstanding). We already had dinner at La Chapelle Saint Martin two years ago and were keen to renew the experience. We were not disappointed and highly recommend the place for a stay in the Limoges area.
Be the first to ReplyAn enjoyable dining experience
My wife and I recently had dinner at La Chapelle Saint Martin. I had not returned there for many years but the place clearly matched my memories: the beautiful park with century-old trees, the charming 19th century manor and the enchanting view on the Limousin countryside from the terrace. We were welcomed by the owner and chef who also took our order providing interesting insights about our selection. The first course, lobster and egg was delicious as was my wife's. The main course, veal entrecote, was perfect and the dessert, a chocolate souffle, was perfectly executed. Very professional and efficient service. One minor criticism however. The dining room where our table was located was fully occupied, some tables with relatively turbulent and noisy kids. As there are two other dining rooms we would have appreciated to be accommodated in a more quiet area. We didn't stay overnight. Therefore, I cannot review the rooms and breakfast. However, the restaurant is definitely worth its Michelin one star and is certainly one of the best options in the Limoges area.
Be the first to ReplyHorrible experience! Owner rude !
We had a awful weekend - The quality of the service was definitely not at the level of a four star hotel- The pool area is dirty, owner is rude and was shouting at us. Don’t stay there - avoid this hotel
