A place you can drop $100+ and still leave hungry
I'm not sure how this place is getting such good reviews. Each tapas was barely enough for two people if one of them is very generous to the other. There's nothing on the menu that's a palette cleanser except for the baguette, which should just come with the meal. Everything was overly rich and a confusing mix of high profile flavors without any harmony. The bruschetta was literally a single piece of tiny bread smothered in cream and mushrooms. The paella classico was by far the biggest disappointment. We were warned it would take a while so, for some reason, all of the other tapas we ordered came out all at once. Because they're all so tiny (the lamb was two golf-ball sized meatballs), we got through them rather quickly (and had been waiting all day for this meal) and then just sat there for another half hour. Why the paella takes long, I cannot tell you. Thank goodness the waiter talked us out of the two person portion for the single. It was utter crap. It tasted like Zatarain's spanish rice with canned tomatoes, canned red peppers, frozen peas, supposed chorizo sausage that was a strong liver flavor, chicken HEAVILY doused in chemical liquid smoke, then 4 mussels and some shrimp. The mussels and shrimp were the only things not contaminated by the utter cacophony of incongruous, artificial-type flavors. Liquid smoke, I mean, come on. We also found it amusing that the chef's menu was cheaper to buy each plate individually vs the bundle. First bad high-end meal we've had in 7 years of living in NM.

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at La Boca. The atmosphere was cozy, and quiet. We lived in Spain for three years and believe La Boca matches any tapas restaurants we went to in Barcelona and Madrid. The Spanish wines on the menu were excellent. We will return!
Be the first to Replywell paced and portioned Tapas dinner
On our first full day in Santa Fe we happily "discovered" La Boca. We successfully made reservations of dinner and were seated promptly. Sawyer, our server, did an excellent job assessing our desired pace and gave good advice when asked. I started with a Spanish dirty vodka martini that maybe was the first time I thought $16 was a fair price. My wife had a Sigil Gin and tonic that was excellent as well. We picked four tapas that were well portioned and timed very well. I had read about the mushroom soup was good and I would heartily agree. Rich spicy broth with very nice pieces of mushroom. A great start. Then came seared Yellowfin Tuna topped with a roasted red pepper-olive pipperade. The topping was very tasty but I thought rather overwhelmed the tuna but it was a winner never the less. Goat cheese Al Horno, whipped cheese with roasted garlic, olive, rosemary and sofrito served with a crostini was vary good but one note to finish but we gladly had it wrapped to take with us. Finally, we had flat iron steak seared perfectly to our taste, slice thin and served with two dipping sauces. Very good. We felt pleasantly full but took our waiters recomendation to try the Gateau Basque a vanilla bean cream tart with house brandied cherries and creme fresh. A wonderful not too sweet finish. We had a good Tempranillo to complement the meal. Highly recommend.

La Boca was excellent. Two couples shared a number of dishes (artichoke, paella, and more) and everything was delicious. We were also treated to some great music. Fun spot and we look forward to returning!

Nice to find this taps restaurant to change it up. We had fried manchego with apricot preserves, butternut squash with chorizo, lamb meatballs, short ribs. Very impressed! Cocktails were good as well

Had a great time, Food was great. Waiter was attentive and had to research the wine label for me. Anyone rating this restaurant as poor would complain about Mcdonalds fries being too salty. Go here , enjoy yourself. Have a good time and get the Velvet Old Fashion.

Great spot for live music and lots of tasty tapas or small plates to share. Make a reservation because they are popular. Cozy with great service .
Be the first to ReplyTop notch food in a small space.
In a city with many fine restaurants, La Boca is a standout spot. Seating is very tight, so some folks might not like this aspect. Service was ok, food was excellent. Great variety of tapas, served in what we agreed were large amounts. This would be a good place to re-visit to try some other choices.
Be the first to ReplyCold food and terrible service
The food and service here are both terrible. Hard to decide which one was worse. The food was served cold and the highly touted grilled artichokes were tasteless. Our table was tiny and the waiter gave us the check without even clearing our dirty plates. With all of the great restaurants in Santa Fe, it was very disappointing to waste our time and money at this place.
Be the first to ReplyFabulous dinner with outstanding service
This was such a fabulous evening! We were in town for a conference and tried getting a reservation last minute. Even though they were very full, Ben, the host found a way to find a table for us. Our server was outstanding and the food fabulous. I can't say enough about the flat iron steak and the fried manchego salad. Every person went above and beyond and the quality of food was outstanding. Will definitely return.

Had an absolutely delicious lunch with excellent service. I have not eaten here since before COVID & I have really missed wonderful food. I intend to return with my wife for a dinner meal the lunch was sooooo good.

We were visiting Santa Fe on Valentineโs week as a girls trip - that unfortunate choice made reservations a challenge. We were able to get a table at this little spot at 2:45 in the afternoon. We made it our meal for the day and we were glad we did. The amazing cream of mushroom soup was not on the menu but available on request. The lamb and the chicken thighs were superb tapas items. My fried manchego spinach salad was another highlight. Spanish wines were wonderful and I asked for one off the menu and it was available! Great experience even without our sweethearts in the middle of the day.

Go here, Eat Paella!! Our friend recommended trying out La Boca, and we are so glad we did. We ordered the paella for 1 to split. I'm glad we did. The portion was huge. I can't describe to you the complex flavors, but I can tell you, this will be a regular spot for us when we are in Santa Fe.
Be the first to ReplyPhenomenal Tapas Restaurant
Made reservations here after seeing this on a few best of lists and so glad we did. Not only because having a reservation is highly advisable for dinner, but because we had a wonderful time. Not a single dish was disappointing, we loved everything. We loved the manchego with jelly so much we got it twice. Excellent patatas bravas. The pan con tomate was the only thing that was slightly below average, but still delicious. It was the first night they had a new cream of catalan dish, kind of like a creme brulee with cinammon, and it was absurdly good. And even for all we ordered (and it was a lot), it wound up being very reasonably priced split amongst a party of four. Can't recommend this place enough.

This restaurant was recommended by a local and it did not disappoint. Spanish Tapas were expertly prepared and our server; Arianna was exceptionally knowledgeable and friendly. Prices are reasonable and the quality is excellent

One of the best restaurants I have ever been to. Fantastic food, a great waitress, and a nice European atmosphere. We 'disappointed' our waitress because we do not drink wine, but her suggestions on what to eat were great, and her attitude was impeccable. If this was the first restaurant we had experienced in Santa Fe, we would have eaten there every day. Risotto with short ribs and the Spanish frittata were superb
Be the first to ReplyBest meal in Santa Fe!
This was our best meal in Santa Fe and we had some great meals at other restaurants. We were seated in the Taberna room, which we entered from a courtyard off of Lincoln. The menu at La Boca was wonderful and the service exceptional. Shout out to Christine, our server! She did a fantastic job helping us decide on cocktails/wine and menu items. All of her suggestions were spot on and the tapas dishes were paced perfectly. We will be back on our next trip to Santa Fe. Highly recommend!
Be the first to ReplyExcellent service and food
The restaurant is small, but accommodating. Tables are close together. We had the mixed cheese and meat tray and croquettes. We paired with a rose cava. All excellent. Service was attentive and friendly.
Be the first to ReplyGreat tapas, great beer
Their tapas really are first rate. And while their wine is EXPENSIVE, you can grab a local craft brew for just dollars. This was our best dining experience in SF.
