Komodo Lounge Miami Reviews from The Last Year
All that I can say is that this restaurant is amazing.
I had some of the best food that I've had in a long time here. The atmosphere was also amazing, and the service was great. I can't wait to go back to try more menu items. The one and only negative was the reservation and check-in process. Our reservation meant nothing at all. We had to wait almost an hour to be seated.
Firstly, the wait is crazy.
I had a 10pm reservation, yes 10pm, and you would think it would be slow. It absolutely was not. We arrived and waited in line for a bit until we got to the hostess and there was no table ready. She said it would be at least 30 mins and we could wait at one of their bars they have and someone will find us when our table was ready. We went to the bar upstairs and luckily there were open seats so we were ok to wait a bit. We ordered drinks and made conversation then about an hour later we realized we still haven't been seated. I went back down to hostess to see where we were with getting a table and I could hear her talking to the incoming guests ahead of me saying the exact same 30 min wait. I laughed because in my mind I'm thinking stop lying to people. Tell them it'll be more than an hour. I finally get to her and she says there's still 3 people ahead of me. At this point, I'm irritated, the 2 others I was with were irritated and we just decided to order food at the bar. We ordered a Lobster Dynamite, Surf & Turf and Wagyu Fried Rice. Something quick and easy because we were pretty hungry. Each of us liked what we got so that is all I can give them credit for but I can not justify these prices. Listen, I live in California with some of the best Asian food and even the best restaurant isn't charging $32 for a bowl of fried rice or $38 for a roll. It was good but like maybe $15 good. A glass of wine cost about as much as a bottle. It's honestly not worth it. I've been to a lot of restaurants. Some high class and some average but this place is basically an overpriced nightclub that serves food. If you want to go and hang out by the bar and order drinks, the atmosphere is dark and gives the feeling of being in an elite establishment to hang out in but Id much rather go to a less crowded place and not wait an hour and 15 mins past my reservation time for a table, which was how long it took for the notification that my table was ready. If you're dying to try this place, just be prepared to wait and pay a high price. Who ever does their marketing should get a raise because they were able to sell the public on this scam of an establishment. Go to the local hole in the wall Asian spot. I'd bet my paycheck the food is better and the wait is normal.
Trendy Spot but with Mixed Vibes.
.. Komodo offers a trendy fusion experience with a restaurant and lounge/club setup. The entrance could use some sprucing up as the standing bar had a college bar vibe, with sticky drink stains on the countertop. Our seating on the second level wasn't the best, tucked against a column near the stairs, but our host was friendly and attentive throughout. The service was overall good, with standout moments like the chicken salad, which was generously portioned, loaded with fresh chicken, and had a delightful crunch from the wontons. Highly recommended! However, the lobster shumai were just okay, leaning more towards a crab taste than lobster. Perhaps opting for the duck wraps would have been a better choice. For mains, the filet was delicious, but it's worth noting that the steak comes pre-cut into cubes, which made it a bit challenging to chew compared to the more traditional strips. The miso sea bass, while decent, fell short of expectations, especially when compared to the sublime miso black cod at Nobu. The sea bass felt slightly undercooked and lacked the flakiness expected, which was a disappointment. The side dish of mushrooms and Baby Bok Choy, however, shone with their freshness and clean umami taste. On the drinks side, the Canvasback by Duckhorn was a standout, while the Lavender Haze cocktail was refreshing but slightly underpoured. The bartender seemed mediocre during our brief encounter. Overall, Komodo seems geared towards tourists and the younger crowd seeking a dinner/club scene. It just falls flat on an elevated dinning experience. For the price point, around $400 for two, there are better high-end dining options in Miami.

Komodo was not quite five stars but definitely more than four. The ambiance was good, it was busy, kind of loud, but good. The biggest downside to sitting in the outside portion was the overwhelming weed smell, presumably from the street and out of the restaurant's control. If you're bothered by that, I'd recommend requesting to sit inside. The service was solid. Not amazing, but above average. I had the szechuan old fashioned to drink, it didn't overly impress, but it was good. To eat I had the ribs, honey truffle salmon sashimi, wagyu tacos, wagyu beef dumplings, and the spicy bluefin tuna maki. They were all equally incredible. I recommend all of them. For dessert, I had the mochi, it was excellent. Overall I'd say Komodo is worth the price. I recommend being willing to splurge and try a variety. Komodo is above average in service, as well as food quality and flavor. Like I said, not five stars but definitely higher than four.
Great vibes all around, great lighting.
Quick and fast service. Great staff on board. Ordered alot everything was delicious. Passion fruit cocktail with vodka hit the spot.

The wait was crazy so definitely be on time for your reservation and try to avoid busy nights if possible. The food was delicious, the drinks were great, and overall had a great time! I would not recommend the Korean fried chicken if you prefer dark meat but the short rib was amazingggg, so tender!
Cane here a few nights ago for a business dinner.
I am a Miami native and I had never visited Komodo. At first glance, you have to know where you're going or you'll miss it. The entrance is pretty much a hole in the wall. Once inside we ordered a few appetizers. The Wagyu tacos were AMAZING. We had to order 2 orders for the table. The spicy margarita made a great paring with the food. My entre was the Wagyu skirt steak, which was also amazing. Cooked just about right and the presentation was nicely done. After indulging in several appetizers is was surprised to see I still had room for dessert. We ordered a tub if ice cream for the the table and it did not disappoint. Overall, great experience here; I'll be coming back to try the other items on the menu!
I've been here so many times and each time is a hit!
I've been here so many times and each time is a hit! Lobster dynamite bites are a MUST!! Hamachi Jalapeno sashimi is fresh and so delicious, and their Garlic King Crab Lo Mein is amazing. Service is impeccable and once you're done eating, make your way upstairs to the lounge for some drinks & dancing.
Top Quality Food, Great Table Service, Not So Good Maître d Service!
So I'll get the worst part of the experience out of the way first. When you arrive you have to give your details of your reservation, you are then asked to wait near the bar area and someone will come and collect you. We had a large party and was waiting 30-40 mins to be collected, this wasn't a massive issue for us as we were not in a rush however we saw several other people complaining about timescales for their table. One tip - don't book this restaurant if you have plans for the rest of the evening. Moving on from this, the food was sensational. The service from our waiter was excellent and he was very helpful and gave recommendations. The food came quickly but this didn't impact food quality. I had the duck lettuce pancakes, the NY strip and wagyu rice which was amazing, the flavours were something else. In terms of the price, yes it is relatively expensive but not ridiculously expensive. I had a few drinks and the food above and it cost be roughly $150-160. Would 100% head there again whenever I am back in Miami.
Diving right into the angry Maine lobster The spicy aioli
Diving right into the angry Maine lobster The spicy aioli sauce as It was delicious with a creamy consietncy, but the lobster itself was quite small. Korean fried chicken had a rich fragrant sauce, maintained its crunch and I think this portion was perfect for the price. As well as the vegetable fried rice that came in this cute ceramic takeout container. Birthday desserts are not complementary, but they will decorate and add a candle to one of their many offerings One of those is the Japanese cheesecake. It's different from the average cheesecake in that it has a spongy feel and a little citrusy. I especially liked the berry sauce and vanilla glaze over it as well. If I could only pick one, I would choose the miso chocolate temptation. This eye-catcher is a chocolate covered square of dulce de leche mousse, sabocha ice cream, and decorated with caramel popcorn. This spot is good for the classic Miami birthday with beautiful ambiance, and an upstairs a nightclub with doors opening at 10:30. Overall, I do recommend giving it a try, Despite the smaller portions and hasty service, I think Komodo is still worth the experience.

oh so wonderful!!! of course a bit pricey, but we found the food and ambience were well worth it. and it's miami! the service was crazy good and we loved the food. my boyfriend's first wagyu and now he can't stop talking about. i got the vegan stir fry and it was amazing - even the wagyu lover approved. they also gave us a free anniversary dessert :)
OK this is actually my first time coming here to eat.
I didn't have much of an appetite this day I was really going for the scenery and to drink. We had a large party so they sat at the tables all the way on the top. First of all it is too hot for that but I love the scenery it was beautiful. The only downfall is that the bathroom is so far down and there's no elevator, so if you don't do stairs, that might not be for you. I've been here to club before and I enjoyed it so to eat was a different experience. The people were very welcoming when you come in the only thing is it's such a small area in the front so it's a little crowded but I still give it a five star.
I was pleasantly surprised to experience and confirm this
I was pleasantly surprised to experience and confirm this place is worth the hype! If you've ever been to tulum or envisioned yourself going, this asian infused restaurant transports you there. I enjoyed this place because its upscale, vibrant, lively and the food is seriously as good as it looks! I went for a friends Birthday dinner with a group of 13. Our reservation was at 7:30pm on a Saturday and it wasn't too crowded around that time. We got seated within 10 min. Although, on our way out it was packed. Here what I had.. Drinks - I indulged in an Szechuan Old Fashion ($20) - It was average. Small Plates - Grutman Pastrami Egg Roll ($23) - 10/10 would recommend. I just wish they provided more than 4 cause they're so good you just want to keep eating em. - Chinese Ribs ($24) - 8/10 the sauce carried this dish, still really good. Main Plates Korean Fried Chicken ($35) - 8/10 Sauce paring on this was just yum. Soy Sake Salmon ($35) - 10/10 cooked to perfection, so good. Sides Wagyu Fried Rice ($32) - 10/10 - This is delish, I'll come back just for this. *Shareable between 2-3 ppl* Looking forward to checking in here again soon especially more toward the evening as there is also a lounge here too. *Note, in groups they only allow for one check but it can be split up to 4 ways. Also, this place is very stereotypical miami when it comes to the price tag so be prepared to spend a coin here plus an additional 18% gratuity.*
Although pricey (pretty on par with Miami) I really enjoyed
Although pricey (pretty on par with Miami) I really enjoyed my meal at Komodo. Every once in a while a dragon would come out through the restaurant which added to the experience. Sushi rolls were good but the Peking Duck and Wagyu Fried Rice stole the show 9/10. I would come back just for that. The Duck is definitely their speciality.

Do not waste your time and money here! First time there, and for sure will never go back. Even with a reservation you have to wait an hour (if you're lucky) or more to get a table. So we just left as we refused to keep on waiting another minute - we had a reservation for a reason. Not to mention the hostesses are extremely rude, horrible service: terrible experience!
Exceptional greetings from the staff.
First of all, the ambiance is excellent, with dim lighting. The servers are really professional, and the service is excellent. However, I felt that the overall dinner experience was somewhat ruined by the poor quality of the meal, especially the desserts.

A wonderful restaurant with a great food! The best part of our experience in this place we ordered a special dessert and Chinese dragon came with it! Service is great! The atmosphere was electric Well come back again!
The food is amazing! The ambiance is everything! Both times
The food is amazing! The ambiance is everything! Both times l've been have been lovely. The only downfall is the wait times by the bar when you already have a reservation. You could be waiting from 30-60 mins additionally to your reservation time.
Arteen is the best and we had so much fun.
This club is lit and perfect place to come when In spring break for Miami
If I could give 0 stars I would.
Only thing worse than the service was the food, ruined my entire Miami trip don't bother coming
Another place where you go one time for the experience and
Another place where you go one time for the experience and never again. The food was mediocre and there were not many options for non-meat eaters. We had a long wait to sit and the service was average; nothing stood out for being a high-end restaurant. The decor is nice because it feels like a jungle escape in the middle of the city but other than that, there was nothing that made a great dining experience.
Worst restaurant in Miami.
Worst experience I have ever had in Miami. Rudest staff and managers and they do not care. Had a reservation and waited over an hour and a half for my table. Was then brought to a high top on the third floor secluded from the entire restaurant.
Komodo Never Again
Unfortunately, my experience at Komodo Restaurant was extremely disappointing. Despite having made a reservation in advance, upon arrival, the hostess told me that there was no table available and simply invited me to wait at the bar. After 40 minutes of waiting, there was still no table available and I had to explain to my guest the awkward situation we were in. This lack of professionalism and respect towards clients is unacceptable, especially when it comes to an important business dinner. I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone due to their poor reservation handling and customer service.
Money is no object (with these prices!)
A beautiful restaurant with great service. That being said, the food is grossly overpriced. It’s good, but not exceptional. If you are looking to impress a date and show them that money is no object, take them here! Also, a big night club feel if you are looking for that.
Fatal goalkeepers
The experience was great except for the treatment at the entrance, the doormen and the staff who receive you are poorly educated. They seem to be involved in a kind of somewhat mafia-like smuggling regarding the treatment of those who arrive without reservations and those who do not. You can make yourself wait so that one of your favorite clients can access before your In general, if the restaurant wants to preserve its prestige, they should replace them all because they seem to be contaminated by tips.
You are crazy?
Horror experience: I book by giving my credit card as requested, I arrive right on time. Entrance with an absurd queue, they tell me I have to wait 40 minutes for a table. After forty minutes, they tell me I have to wait another 40. If you arrive 15 minutes late they can take away 35 dollars, but if you ruin an evening by spending Friday night watching their chaos not even an apology. The icing on the cake is that the girls at the entrance laugh at you as you leave.
SO MUCH RUDE!
RIDICULOUS! CHANGE JOBS! Dispassionate advice? DON'T GO THERE! We booked a table for 10pm, complete with confirmation requested by credit card and an invitation to show up no later than 10.15pm (under penalty of cancellation of the reservation and a penalty of $35 per person). Arriving like clockwork on time, we are told to wait at the bar. After a good 40 minutes of waiting, we were told (in a rather annoyed manner) by the waitresses that we would have to wait another 15 minutes to get our table. Needless to say, we left (like many customers before us). Ps: the restaurant was FULL OF EMPTY TABLES. Pay more staff if you want to offer at least a DECENT service!
Bad treatment at the entrance
The arrogant entrance staff They don't respect reservations, they put people in however they want Inside, the food is very good and. Good service They should know that one makes a reservation for dinner and not a club If you are willing to endure their abuse, go If not, better go somewhere else.
Long wait with reservation.
Horrible experience 30-40min wait with reservation for 1:45min. Walked out after speaking to manager. They clearly overbook it all the time No other top restaurants in Miami practicing that.
Best meal I’ve had in awhile
A party of 6 of us ate there and ordered lots of different things. Drinks were awesome food was awesome service was awesome. Loved the shishito peppers because they had a little sweet sauce on them. Edamame was normal not at all spicy like menu suggests. Best for me was the Korean fried chicken with fried rice. But everything was great and great ambiance too!
One stop shop for a fun night out
This was my first visit. I would recommend going outside to the back bar for a drink instead of the bar by the hostess stand. The back bar had plenty of room. We had a table outside. Service was fantastic. We ordered Waygu dumpings. They were fantastic. Waygu fried rice was good. I loved desert. We had the white chocolate raspberry dumplings. I will be back. After dinner go upstairs to the lounge. They have a DJ. It was a fun end to the night. One stop shop.

Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.

almost all restaurants aren't affiliated with AT and I'm guessing it's mostly people wanting to not pay cancellation fees.
