Kizuna Japanese Restaurant Castletown Reviews from The Last Year
10/10 most delicious spot we have ate since arriving here.
Better than Waikiki or Honolulu sushi . Staff are amazing . We will be back

This is one of my favorite sushi bars on island! There may be a 30-60 minute wait depending on when you go. Being sat by the window at sunset is lovely and being sat by the sushi bar is fun too!The Spicy volcano roll, Waikiki roll, Osaka roll, and steak teppanyaki are all 10/10. The rolls are huge! Be prepared to spend some money, but it will be worth it. We finished off with green tea and strawberry icecream mochi. Can't wait to go back for more!
Obviously fresh fish.
Beautiful presentation. Convenient location in Kaneohe. Servers are friendly.

We stopped here for dinner with our family of 4 (our 2 kids are teens). We had just flown into Oahu and were heading to check in to our AirBnB on the North Shore. There was something for all of us, we got the Filet steak Tepanyaki, a Bento box, a Teriyaki chicken dish, and Sushi. We all enjoyed our food. The chopsticks are charming because they are wrapped in paper that says, "I Hawai'i" Our waiter was very attentive and quick in getting our food out, which was such a relief after our long day of travel. Thank you Kizuna!

This was our first time here, and we loved it! We ordered the chutoro, Hamachi, softshell crab, golden lobster roll, fantasy roll, ume shiso roll, beef tataki, and the salmon bites, yeah it was a lot but so worth it! I always like to get the softshell crab whenever I see it on the menus and this one was pretty good, very soft and the crab was a pretty decent size, they cut the crab in quarters which made it easier to eat and its on a bed of ocean salad which pairs well with the crab. The chutoro was so good that we ended up ordering another of that towards the end as well. It was so soft and fatty and went down smooth. The other rolls we got were pretty good, but the chutoro was my fave! The staff were friendly and helpful when we were trying to decide on the menu, and they were consistently checking up on us as well. The ambiance of the restaurant was nice, the lighting was just right. Some places have the lighting too bright, but the dimming and the dark colors make it comfy. I would definitely go there again.

Kizuna Kaneohe NEVER fails us!!! Excellent restaurant for our business dinners, meetings, birthday celebrations, family gatherings & especially after very stressful day at work. The QUALITY of their food is extremely FRESH!!!! Thank you Kizuna Team-- May, Jason, Mindy, Tina, Yong, Zhou & head sushi chef & head cook behind the scenes ... Truly a FIVE STAR RESTAURANT!!!

I came in for a quick, early dinner (around 5:30 pm) and was not disappointed. I sat at the bar and ordered hotate nigiri and the Friday roll. Both came out in a timely manner and the staff was very friendly. Highly recommend if you're craving sushi and are on this side of the island.
Food was great.
Service ok. Teppanyaki food was pretty greasy and salty. I don't like the oyster with the ponzu sauce much. I prefer eating raw with sauce on the side so I can add as much as I wanted.
Celebrated Son's Birthday, wanted to try their Kaneohe
Celebrated Son's Birthday, wanted to try their Kaneohe Boat, very delicious variety of sashimi & rolls, beautiful presentation served on a 2ft. wooden boat. Keana ( Yan) was an excellent server. Very friendly & professional gal! The vibe lively but not loud. Two cold pitchers of Asahi beer made for a perfect match to the excellent dinner, we four had, along with hot tea. Green tea ice cream & fried Banana Tempura completed the enjoyable dinner & company! Yan kept our water glasses filled.Highly recommend Kizuna's Kaneohe
Great, reasonably priced izakaya on the Windward side.
But if you're from the East side, there are def better izakayas there than Kizuna so you might be disappointed. The fish isn't fine dining quality but it's much better than Genki or Ninja, that's for sure. Been here several times, the lunch specials are a super good deal. For dinner, I usually get the sushi deluxe or chirashi bowl. My kids love the fried chicken. The chef's special rolls are pretty good. They take reservations only for weekdays, you'll have to wait with the crowds on the weekends.
Food was great service was ok, it truly was more than 4
Food was great service was ok, it truly was more than 4 stars but in my opinion less than 5, right where yelp has its average, slightly expensive for what you get especially for nigiri/sashimi which was almost $8 for 2 pieces. Ambiance is decent but restaurant is kind of hard to find in the parking lot as it doesn't face the same way as any of the other shops. I would recommend trying it. I took pictures of everything except my 2 pieces of unagi nigiri, and this meal was $41 with no gratuity.
Kizuna has been on my list of places to try for a while now.
We area hardly in the Kaneohe area but today we had to kill some time. We walked in on Sunday at 5:30p signed in and waited about 10 mins then got seated. It was pretty busy since it is Spring break. The atmosphere when you walk in is modern, hip, clean, love the decor. The restaurant is bigger than it seems from the outside. Service was great. They were fully staffed so we got our food pretty quickly. Food was really good. Portion size was perfect. We got Tekka maki, beef tataki, agedashi tofu, my son got kids bento, my husband and I got a bento. Miso soup was included. Overall we had a really good experience and will definitely be back when we're in the area. I highly recommend giving this place a try.
Japanese restaurant own by Chinese people.
Food is ok, our server had strong body order and I can smell it every time he walk by, it was not pleasant. We ordered 2 bento and a chirashi bowl, nothing special and doesn't taste all that authentic. I enjoyed the fried squid tentacles
Another fantastic dinner! Got 2 of the chefs specials
Another fantastic dinner! Got 2 of the chefs specials tonight - yellowtail shisito and Aloha roll. Both were great. Love that they have specials because I've had pretty much everything on the menu....a few times!! We arrived right at the opening and had fast service as always. Love the quality food they keep putting out.

Hi We went yesterday on March 13 2024 Kizuna restaurant in the kaneohe area. They never even greeting us . How much people or they're never coming by ask if we want a refill on all drinks and they never even ask us how was our food. And the waiter we had he whispered something in my ear I didn't appreciate that what he said to me
Food was good.
We got both sushi and Japanese food. It gets busy on the weekends, they don't take reservations. But the turnover of tables is pretty fast. It's a pretty big place. There's also a sushi bar you can sit at.

I initially like their food when they first opened, their love roll was my favorite. However, the food has changed. Their ambiance as well. 90 minute seating time. They are rushing you to order and then rush you out when you are done eating. Their shrimp tempura and gyoza are the ones you get at Costco. They do not make it fresh.
One of the best Japanese restaurants anywhere
Kizuna is one of the best japanese restaurants I have visited. We live in London, though I am from the Isle of Man, and previously lived in Tokyo. My family love Japanese food and we have eaten at many the best Japanese restaurants in London, Tokyo and elsewhere. Kizuna serves a small but diverse menu of perfectly presented dishes. The fish and meat are super fresh and of the highest quality and the preparation and service are excellent. This is undoubtedly the best restaurant in the Isle of Man
Food amazing, drinks over expensive.
Took some business colleagues on our first visit to Kizuna in Castletown. First and foremost the service was exceptional from start to finish. Relatively small restaurant, the atmosphere was very relaxing. Had a mixture of meat and vegetable starters and main courses, all excellent, the belly pork was the standout for me. The drinks are overpriced in my opinion, £32 a round for 4 pints of larger, drop the prices and customers will consume a lot more. I will without doubt visit again but I'll be on the soft drinks.
Superb Japanese restaurant.
Outstanding Japanese restaurant to be found - amazingly - in Castletown! Sushi aficionados say they can’t find anything better than this in London. Food amazing and staff really welcoming and friendly. Been a few times now and every visit thoroughly enjoyed by friends and family.
Outstanding
World class Japanese cuisine in Castletown! Kazuna gets everything right - the room is understated and stylish, the service impeccable and the food - just wow! We’ve eaten at some of top Japanese restaurants around the world - including several Michelin starred places and this is right up there. Every single dish was a delight. Worth every penny.
Outstanding!
We loved Kizuna! The food is outstanding: a varied menu of sushi, sashimi and lots of other dishes, with good choice for vegetarian, vegan and gluten free diets. The atmosphere is great too: low-key and relaxed while also feeling very elegant and special. The service was friendly and helpful. I wish we lived closer!
Outstanding food and experience
Kizuna is an absolute gem. It has all the elegance you expect from Japanese cuisine, refined flavours (we loved the miso aubergine, pork gyoza, and matcha crème brûlée in particular) and an intimate, hospitable welcome. Not to mention the cool experience, for six lucky customers, of sitting at the chef's table. I live in a busy English university city twice the size of IoM and haven't had Japanese like this. A holiday within a holiday: I wish I lived nearer.
Excellent
Excellent service, food and atmosphere; highly recommend the sushi omakase and tonkatsu. Price was very reasonable given the quality of the food and service. Will definitely go again.
Amazing, authentic Japanese food and atmosphere.
The best Japanese food I have ever tasted. Staying in Castletown for work and have heard that Kizuna was excellent. The decor is super minimalist and the open kitchen is fantastic. I took recommendations from the super friendly staff on what to order and all of the food was excellent. I tried the warm Sake too which was a first for me and I really enjoyed it. I had a great dinner at this restaurant and would highly recommend it.
Wonderful special meal for two. Exceptional food and service.
This is an exceptional eating experience with friendly and polite staff who will guide and assist you. The food is just wonderful and I would recommend anyone to try it. We had the set menu on the two occasions we have been. We both hope to return again in the future if we are on the island.

I have a notice stating that my bid has been accepted and is awaiting transfer. The reservation is for the 18th, but the “moderator” said he will confirm booking by the 28th. Is this an indicator that I may not have a reservation?

Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
