Justine New Orleans Reviews from The Last Year

This place has nice French Bistro feel so you can get there on energy and atmosphere. I ordered the red snapper special which the waiter said was right off the docks. However I am unsure if the fish delivered was red snapper nor had it come just off the docks. It was close to closing so perhaps they had run out of the special and simply forgot to inform. The server staff was cheery. Dessert cake was not worth the calories.
Perfect
Very nice restaurant in the centre. Food was fresh. Served fast and friendly. Drinks were nice. Everything was perfect.
We love Justine! The atmosphere and vibe is chic but chill.
It's glamorous but unpretentious. We went twice in two days because we loved it so much. Sat at the bar both times, and were lucky to have Amelia as our bartender. She had the best drink recs on day one - completely pegged us! Then the next day we went for lunch and asked Amelia for recs, and it was an amazing meal! We had the tomato salad - it had blue cheese and a vinaigrette that was so so good. For our entree we shared the NY strip with hand cut fries. Both were cooked to perfection. The steak was tender and delicious. We opted for dessert because why not? Amelia suggested the Justine Sundae, which of course we went for and again were pleased with the meal. 10/10 recommend Justine!
The service was quick and the food was excellent.
The presentation was beautiful. The ambiance was unique and very sophisticated without being stuffy. We had a wonderful anniversary dinner. Our server was attentive but not intrusive. The food was cooked perfectly and the flavors were well developed.

Our Waiter was Alex and he was very accommodating of our b large party of 13 people. Food was really good. I got the Shrimp and Grits and it was probably the best I have ever had! The Crab mac and cheese seemed more like just mac and cheese I didnt really taste or see the crab meat. Overall the food was really good and I would go again. I also had a dreamsicle mocktail that tasted soo good! The overall restaurant was beautiful and an amazing experience within its self. Great decor and theme.

I could not wait to try this restaurant, but sadly I don't recommend it. The food is fine, but not worth the pretentiousness, especially in a city, full of amazing food with no attitude. They don't want my business anyway, as I was told when I asked for my $70 steak to be cooked extra well done that they won't dry the steak out. So apparently they know best and don't care to create a great experience for the customer. My entree salad came 10 minutes later than everyone else's meals, so their food got cold while I waited for my salad, even though that should've been the fastest thing to get to the table. Maybe I was being punished for the steak request?! Who knows. It was a bummer, and definitely not worth all the hype. Especially for the price point. It was our last night in New Orleans and we really wanted a special experience and instead we all left with an "eh" feel.
The vibes are there with the ambiance and the decor.
The food was great, I got the steak frites which were delicious. Madi W. Truly made the experience. She was so friendly, patient and made my friend's birthday so much better. Would def come back because of her. Everyone else was super friendly but Madi dubs was that girl!

We came to Justine's for my birthday and it was an amazing time. The food was great, but the service was amazing. Our server was MADDIE W. Honestly. The icon. The legend. The moment. The mood. She was so accommodating, nice, and friendly she made our experience so much better. We all ordered the steak frites and the crème brûlée it was so good. Highly recommend and hopefully you get Maddie as your server because she was fantastic

We were excited to try Justine based on the more recent
We were excited to try Justine based on the more recent reviews and were disappointed. The waiter was rude and seemed like he couldn't be bothered with answering simple queries about dish preparation. There was a long wait between apps and main dish, and when they arrived the pasta was like-warm and the $50 snapper - over cooked. The snapper was sent back and served after the waiter aggressively cleared the rest of the plates, which is just poor form on multiple counts. On the second attempt it was overly fishy as they didn't take the time to remove the muscle from the bottom of the filet. I never mind paying for a great meal and service and this was way overpriced for what we experienced with both. Will not be back and with so many great options in New Orleans, would not recommend.
Loved the ambiance and decor of this spot.
Service could have been better, I think our girl was just having a rough day but she was nice, just not as consistent and had to keep asking for things. Food was interesting, the appetizer we ordered was the onion soup & bread cheese. Based on other pics of onion soup ours looked messy and just had a bed of cheese sitting at the BOTTOM of the bowl. The bread cheese was.. silly. Why call it bread cheese when it's just cheese and they give you no bread? I ordered the pork bolognese and the sauce was amazzzzing! But I was disappointed in the over cooked noodles that were breaking in the sauce and the ratio of sauce to noodle didn't seem right, I ended up ordering bread to finish the sauce.
Tonight was my second and final time eating at Justine.
I ordered onion soup, salad and gries. Soup was lukewarm, I needed to ask for extra dressing for salad, My husband ordered mussels (too salty) and steak tartar ( that wasn't seasoned enough). They brought all my food at once. I dined here in May and was impressed enough to come back. I have many restaurants in New Orleans that have remained in my rotation. Sadly Justine will no longer be in my rotation.

Wow. The service was fantastic. Michael took great care of us- even refolded our napkins when we left the table to use the restroom. He was super attentive and made our experience wonderful. Im not gonna lie - it was pricey , but hands down this was the best food I've had in my life. The food was exceptional. We had the cheese bread, scallops, snapper, and crème brûlée. The scallops had a multitude of flavors that blended perfectly. We've never tasted anything like it. Will definitely be back next NOLA visit.
For dinner it was ok.
Nothing special, especially for the area. Nothing was bad, it's was just not worth the price imo. French onion soup broth was great but the bowl was half cheese (and I LOVE cheese). Dirty martini was ok...i didntneven finish it. Service was great, ambiance was good.
Delicious and pretty restaurant
Steak frites was delicious. Really well flavored and well cooked. Fries were delicious. Sticky toffee pudding also good (but ice cream only ok). Service was very efficient. 80s hit playing and gorgeous looking restaurant.
Mismanagement
The management who runs this restaurant need not be in this business. Never treated this way in all my years of dining out. Truly the worst. They should be ashamed of themselves for the way they treat guests.
Absolutely worth it!!
Josh is a fun and snarky but entertaining server. The drinks, appetizers and food were spot on! We will most definitely come back for dinner. If you have not eaten here, you should!! They took reservations for 8 and we were never ignored ❤️
A Great Choice for French (Not Creole or Cajun) Cuisine in the French Quarter
We visited Justine on a very busy Saturday night. The food, drinks, atmosphere, and service were all top-notch. The location is also very convenient to those staying in lower Canal St hotels.
The absolutely perfect Southern brunch!
We wanted to try out Chef Justin Devillier's newest venture, Justine, after dining at La Petite Grocery on a previous visit to New Orleans. We decided on brunch, which proved to be an outstanding experience from beginning to end. All drinks and food were delicious, but the shrimp and grits were hands down the best ever I've eaten in New Orleans (and I've tried many). The bread pudding sticks are also out of this world. The space is absolutely gorgeous (we found the atmosphere of the front room that opens up onto the street to be perfect for brunch, but are already thinking of going back for dinner in the very stylish main dining room). And finally, a shout-out to our server, Kearney, who was absolutely fantastic. There are so many restaurants in the French Quarter to choose from, but based on our experience, we will be recommending Justine without any hesitation!
Bar service...
We arrive unexpectedly and the only places available are at the bar. We accept because the restaurants are crowded and we are coming back from a visit to a plantation (Oak Alley). We choose the rigatoni bolognese...really delicious. A glass of dry red, Pommard de Jadot. A chocolate cake completes the whole thing. Really very good. Recommended !!
Poor customer relations
Stopped for brunch while walking by. Seated at the bar the bartender very nice. When other people in my party received their orders I waited for mine. My wife completed her food and I still did not receive me Regis and bacon. I told bartender to just cancel my order cause my family was done eating and still nothing. When manager was notified of me canceled order and became very defensive and rude . Never apologize. Just told us to pay our check and leave.
Delicious and great atmosphere
My Fiancé and I chose Justine for a romantic dinner on the last night of our vacation. The restaurant had a laid back but sophisticated vibe that we were looking for. Our server, Eric, was polite and gave great suggestions. The food was DELICIOUS and not super small portions that you find at over priced restaurants. My fiancé and I shared the escargot, she had the shrimp and grits for her entree and I had the pork bolognese, there wasn’t a any left when we were done. We also split the Apple Toffee Pudding which was delicious! The drinks we were also expertly crafted and delicious! We definitely recommend this restaurant!
Lovely experience
The restaurant is beautiful. Love the ambiance. Our waitress, Marsha was great. She was attentive and knowledgeable but not overbearing at all. The food was amazing. Good portion sizes and the flavour was wonderful.
Justine - Top of the list in New Orleans
Justine - Such a delightful restaurant…on every level! Unique, classy, creative decor…feels fresh and immaculate. It only takes a few minutes to know that this restaurant is unusual, we’ll managed and special! Robbie, the General Manager, is charming and genuine. The food was delicious & lovely…cheese bread, shrimp remoulade, fresh grilled red snapper. Every course was perfect…along with lovely, patient service by Amelia! 😁❤️

Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.

Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it? |
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid? |
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted. |
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from? |
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered? |
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.

Give the best answerNewbie sellers— how fast do your reservations sell?
I have some reservations coming up tomorrow that have gotten lots of views but haven’t sold yet. I haven’t made a sale yet since I just joined this week. I keep lowering the price, but am worried they won’t sell. How long did it take you to sell your first reservations? And did you have success being reimbursed by AT for no-show or cancellation fees? Just looking for a little reassurance. Thanks!

I posted a request for a reservation this Thursday between 6:30 and 8 pm and initially the potential seller said it would be fulfilled by today. Now they changed it that they will only fulfill it by 5pm that same day. Basically I would have an hour and a half to get to the restaurant. Is this allowed?

This app is a catfish and overrun by people programming “bots” and algorithms. It makes it frustrating for someone not well versed in this to have any movement. I thought this would be a fun side hustle, but unfortunately it’s become like any other “side hustle”. Don’t waste your time with this crap. Not a question, just a suggestion. Also don’t pay these fake “gurus” hundreds of dollars to teach you. Might as well sign up for a software class. 😕
