Loyal customers for years. Disappointed
Refused to serve my fiancé a drink saying he was too intoxicated when he had one drink. Been very loyal customers there for over 20 years. Extremely disappointed at the service and that situation.
Be the first to ReplyStaple Mexican place in Dallas - well worth a visit
Been here a few times now and must say keep enjoying the place. Ambience is very special and the staff is very friendly. Food is very nice and you can go as heavy as you want on cheese - so worth a try. Slightly different flavors from your usual tex - mex, but in a good way. Massive plus the cigar room that is part of the property and you can wrap up there tour dinner with a nice cigar.

Girls get drugged at this restaurant. I don't know why there are not more reviews stating that this is happening. There are multiple cases.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing time at Javiers
We always have a great experience! We have been going there around 33 years and my parents years before that! We loved Pepe. And we still love Javier and all the waiters are fantastic! We always have our traditions. Tequila shots and tomato chasers, Mexican flags, margaritas, coffee Pier and 43! We love the green sauce. The atmosphere is always great! Thank you Javier and staff for making our lifetime restaurant always the best!!!
Be the first to ReplyFabulous Mexican restaurant
I was here for fist time with family who have been here previously. I let them guide the order. Everything was outstanding. The margaritas are great. The quail appetizers terrific. The main courses tasty. The service is wonderful. The cigar bar prior to dinner was a very casual atmosphere. And the flamed coffee drinks were superb. This is the best upscale Mexican restaurant I’ve had the pleasure to dine.
Be the first to ReplyTop Notch Authentic Mexican Restaurant
Simply the best overall authentic Mexican restaurant in metro Dallas. Located near Highland Park I highly recommend you make a reservation. The fresh grouper with rice and black beans is top notch both in preparation and presentation. The chips with homemade salsa served warm is simply the best you will find anywhere. The service is old school and each table is given outstanding attention. The prices are extremely reasonable for the quality of food and service you receive. Valet parking is an added bonus.

Went to Javier’s with in-laws for birthday. First time at restaurant, and had old time feel. Upon arrival to restaurant, the staff was was very courteous and friendly. In which they were very inventive. Our waiter Leo, was excellent, and over saw our needs at the table. We ordered the quail, and was the first time having it. And will not be the last. This is an restaurant that you will be back again
Be the first to ReplyOutstanding in every. way
I hadn't visited the very popular Javier's in several years, and it's just as good as ever! My partner and I enjoyed a fabulous weekend dinner even though we weren't able to reserve a spot for 2 until 9:30 p.m. We went early and were taken 15 minutes before time. The place is, understandably, bustling! Lots of small groups, mostly young, enjoying every aspect of this Dallas institution. We started with delicious margaritas (you can select from among multiple choices including, if you wish, pick your tequila of choice). A "small" guacamole easily is shareable by 2 persons -- delicious, slightly chunky served with crisp fresh tortilla chips. Two types of warm salsas come out when you sit down in any case. We split a very healthy portion of Mojo de Ajo red snapper -- a fantastic preparation, perfectly cooked and simply delicious. It filled us up despite being shared. Our server was so very attentive throughout. Looking forward to returning again sooner rather than later.
Be the first to ReplyLively atmosphere backed by great food and drinks.
It is no surprise that the restaurant is always very busy because the food and drinks are Excellent, the service friendly and the atmosphere is very lively. The mole is special and the drinks are creative and reflect mixology effort.
Be the first to ReplyPerfect Visit!!
Was part of a large family dinner of 8, Alejandro was a perfect server! We all LOVED the quail appetizer, especially, as well as the Red Snapper Mojo de Ajo-best fish I've ever eaten! And I'm old!! Also, the Mexican
Martini's are outstanding, too! Can't wait to go back!!
Consistently very good
I go to Javier's 2-3 times a month and have some favorite dishes but it's more than just the food that makes this restaurant special. Usually need reservations to get in but the bf and I like to go and get a seat at the bar, have a margarita and then order food. You will not find a more attentive waitstaff anywhere in Dallas. The atmosphere is nice casual. Ok, now the food... The warm tomatillo salsa and chips is addicting. The panela cheese in a flour tortilla... simple but so good. The Best chicken mole in Dallas. I promise. Crazy good steak durango- filet filled with cheese. And if you're eating light after your marg, they have a fabulous chicken soup, Chicken Caldo. Good nachos too. Flan is top notch for dessert. People watching is always fun there too.. classy HP crowd, millennials with skimpy sparkly tops and regulars with cowboy boots-- oh wait, that was me! hahaha

We arrived on a Saturday night without reservations. Couldn’t get inside seating, but they accommodated us outside. Chips and salsa were great. Margaritas were strong and the food was excellent!
Be the first to ReplyPacked into a room with screaming drunk people.
Miserable experience. Seated late and then packed into a room with really drunk people screaming. This is more of a college bar in Cancun than a high end restaurant. No way were they at 50% capacity. Really disappointing.
Be the first to ReplyService and Food outstanding!!
We had a party of eight and resv. a private room. We were all seated right on time and the wait staff was right on it. Chips and water out before our butt hit the seat! We ordered drinks and they were good and out fast. All our food was outstanding. My wife had the peppercorn steak and it was really great. You can't go wrong with any of Red Snapper dishes. The owner Javier was there like usual and was greeting folks all over the place. Check it out if your in the Dallas area

Food is good and reasonably prices, guacamole is average, drinks are more expensive than other area mexican restaurants, service is attentive. I've never been there when it wasn't busy.
Be the first to ReplyWonderful gourmet mexican food.
Don't expect traditional Tex-Mex food. This is delicious, gourmet dining. The drinks are great! The fish dishes are beautifully presented. Lots of garlic, for those who love it. The waiters will make certain that you order the right spices.
Be the first to ReplyReal Mexican, not Tex-Mex
The food was great and reasonably priced. The chips and salsa were awesome. The service was excellent and the place is a really a terrific looking space, comfortable even though it was very crowded on a Wednesday night. Management was present and checked on our table a few times, they really have the service part down. Valet parking only and expensive drinks. A really great place for dinner.

Only 20 minutes North of Downtown Dallas this local favorite does pretty much everything right. We began with guacamole and the Garlic Shrimp Guaymas. The nice sized portion of guacamole was decent enough but I've had better versions elsewhere.
The shrimp were nicely seasoned and well cooked but a little on the small side. For my entree I ordered the Mayan Style pork
which did not disappoint . Service was excellent and the food came out fast and hot. The place was completely packed-especially for a Wednesday night and with a narrow entryway you will be surrounded by hungry people waiting like you!
