J Sheekey London Reviews from The Last Year
Can be loud and the food is just OK
Food was OK. We were in a nice corner booth, but for some reason, the noise level was very loud . It was a combination of the hard surfaces and the people in the room who were all trying to talk loudly to be heard so the noise level became unpleasant. The other roomโs didnโt seem to be as loud. Not gracious hospitality. The server always seemed to be looking away and wasnโt really paying close attention. It was like he needed to dash off to someplace else. The Apple torte dessert was the best part of the meal. It was very good. The miso salmon was good. The side salad was drenched in dressing and had mostly the core sections of the lettuce. We have dined there before, but we wonโt return. We had better meals elsewhere.
Fantastic experience!
We visited J Sheeky for the first time last night for my Birthday. I did have high expectations but have to say they were exceeded! Straight away the service and attitude of the staff was so friendly and welcoming, they made us feel so comfortable. We were lucky to be given a nice corner seat giving us a nice view of all going on in the restaurant. There was a nice choice of wine, as we were eating seafood it seemed only right to have a white, whilst some wines were expensive, we opted for the Picpoul which was very nice with the seafood and reasonably priced! We had the seafood platter and a couple of side dishes, this was all very fresh and tasty! To finish we had cheese and Port, the cheese was room temperature and so the flavour of the cheese was nice and full! Strangely I think I should add that even going to the loo was nice! Smelt nice, very clean and hand soap smelt nice, maybe weird thing to comment on but all adds to the experience! This restaurant is obviously about seafood and so you should only expect this as the main choice although I spotted meat choices on the menu. I look forward to returning and hope others enjoy this as much as I did!
We Wonโt Bother Ever Again
Unbelievably cr*p service - One canโt arrive half an hour early - There is no bar, and a lone female told to โLeaveโ = Had to stand outside in the rain!
My favourite London restaurant. Definitely worth it.
Introduced to this restaurant a few years back and have been coming here every time I stay in London. Food is delicious, service impeccable and a lovely ambience. My partner and I began with the bisque and scallops, then the fish of the day (superb) and the signature fish pie, followed by the cheeseboard and coffees. As it was a birthday treat we also had our favourite Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. Looking forward to my next visit.
Outstanding - best seafood in London, bar none.
Old school London charm, coupled with simply the best food and service it is possible to get. The staff are excellently trained and efficient, whilst being genuinely warm, welcoming and relaxed. The food is second to none. The only thing to consider is how much you are missing out if you donโt go. One of my top places to dine in London.
One of the best, if not THE best Fish restaurant in London - simply magnificent
I know it's a staple but I don't care, it's awesome. My first time and I enjoyed every minute. The ambience is wonderful, the food superb and the service is excellent (from Hostess, to Waiter, to Sommelier to Manager - all perfect). My wife does not eat meat, so the fish and seafood options at Sheeky suited us perfectly. We shared a small seafood tower to start, then I had the Fish Pie and she had the Cornish Seabass - all dishes were amazing.
Absolutely delicious and the service was excellent.
Great menu, great ambiance. We loved every bite and look forward to our next visit.
Outstanding service, excellent food!
This was our first visit to this restaurant on the recommendation on a Facebook page I follow! We arrived early and they were very accommodating and seated us straight away. The gentleman who books you in was so very helpful and attentive, as were all the staff. What an absolutely amazing place and the food was sublime. We had the Shellfish Bisque and Tempura Prawn for starters, the Fried fillet of Haddock (hubby said it was the best he has ever had) and Monk fish and Tiger Prawn Tikka Masala for mains and baked Vanilla Cheesecake and Banoffee Choux Bun for desserts. We cannot sing the praises of this restaurant enough, the staff were outstanding, even helping me to the bathroom, they helped us with our coats as we left and the service was spot on from start to finish. We never felt rushed, even though they were very busy, and the atmosphere was wonderful. We will definitely be back when we visit London again. Thank you for a memorable Valentines Meal.
J. Sheeky is always on my stop over and dine here list
J. Sheeky is always on my stop over and dine here list whenever I'm in London. Seriously is. The experience there is just so essential London and ideal West End, its become personally cherished. My go to item is hands down, the J.Sheekey's Fish Pie. which is an extraordinary staple there that is well worth trying. It's essentially Shepherd's Pie however with three kinds of finned fish. The freshly baked sourdough bread and English butter sets the tone along with a perfect glass of Riesling. Trust me, you'll love it too. Be sure to make reservations as this location is quite popular. In the warmer climates, I love sitting outside taking in all the West End buzz walking through the alley between theaters. Love it.
J Sheekey was most definitely the highlight meal of my
J Sheekey was most definitely the highlight meal of my recent trip to London. It is the restaurant I was least looking forward to visiting, but the proximity to the theatre district and show we were seeing (Tina, The Musical .... which I HIGHLY recommend!), it just made sense. From the moment we stepped in not only did the hostess ask if we were seeing a show, but took interest in asking 'what' show (I noticed that this wasn't exclusive to us, as she asked people ahead of us as well). It's a little touch that in some instances may go unnoticed, but for me, it is just that little extra warmth you receive throughout London. We were seated toward the front of the restaurant in a very comfortable banquet with plenty of space between tables (one side banquet, one side a chair). The restaurant itself is just old-school beautiful. Service was impeccable and fast (to ensure there was plenty of time to make the show), but not so fast that you feel rushed. It is as if you know you're in good hands. Ordered a bunch of smaller dishes off the a la carte menu including - - Oysters. I didn't taste any but my niece said they were among the best she had during our trip. The finger bowl they put along side the Oysters and mussels are a very nice touch. - Tuna Tartare. I wish I had taken more time to ensure the lighting was optimal for my photos because this dish was not only beautifully presented (the edible flowers on top were a lovely touch), but it was possibly the best tuna tartare I've ever had (and tuna tartare is my go-to appetizer whenever I'm dining out). - Wild Mushroom Risotto. My order was the smaller portion, which was quite generous. It has just a touch of black truffle which sometimes can be overwhelming. But J Sheeky got it just right. I'd have a difficult time not ordering this again. It was absolutely delicious. - Steamed Shetland Mussels. A little chili, red miso, and lime broth. My niece loved it. - Creamed Spinach. And good creamed spinach, at that. - We finished with the Welsh Rarebit and a cheese plate. It was my first time having Welsh Rarebit, and I have to admit to being confused when they put the bottle of Worcester on the table. I wasn't sure what to expect with the Welsh Rarebit. I was thinking cheese toast, but it is really much more complex than that, and I'll admit that I have since gone down a rabbit hole (pun intended) reading about it. Definitely going to give it a try on my own. As for the cheese plate, it was a lovely combination of Montgomery Cheddar, Sinodun Hill and Cashel Blue. I was lucky enough to stumble upon the Neal's Yard Dairy (home of the Sinodun Hill) when I visited Borough Market. There are several places where I live where I have access to some of the Dairy's Cheese, and they'll be moved into regular rotation on my cheese plates! 3 glasses of wine and a coffee brought the total bill to $242.49. It was well worth that price and J Sheekey will be on my must-visit list next time I'm back in London.
Got food after an hour of ordering - first server
Got food after an hour of ordering - first server disappeared, had to remind of good order. Seafood tower was below average and had sand on it. Over priced for what it offers
What a wonderful meal and excellent service.
For appetizers, we ordered 6 jersey oysters, shrimp tempura, and scallops. The oysters were large and fresh, perfect. The tempura shrimp were less than exciting - a little bland. But, the scallops!!! I wish I had a dozen of those. Some of the best I've had in my life. He had the Roast Mixed Shellfish, which was fantastic. And, my hubby even let me have one of his yummy scallops!! I had the lobster Thermador, which was tasty. Our sides were the mash and tomatoes. Both lovely. Our drinks were spot on but everything about service was perfect. A fabulous meal in the heart of everything.
This upscale eatery does not disappoint.
From the bread and butter all the way to the coffee and dessert and the end were great. Can't wait to visit again.

Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venueโs rankings & sales.

Need to cancel a bid, not getting a responseโฆ how do I do it? |
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid? |
Your bid has been โmatchedโ with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted. |
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from? |
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered? |
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.

How to list a Nobu Malibu reservation
Hi, I have a reservation to Nobu Malibu, but since they don't do text or e-mail confirmations I haven't been able to get my reservation posted. I have posted a screen shot of the phone conversation on the listing, but it keeps getting rejected. If anyone has an idea how I can get it approved that would be much appreciated, thanks!

I posted a request for a reservation this Thursday between 6:30 and 8 pm and initially the potential seller said it would be fulfilled by today. Now they changed it that they will only fulfill it by 5pm that same day. Basically I would have an hour and a half to get to the restaurant. Is this allowed?
