Food was nice and delicious.
But the staff wasn't very friendly.Seemed like everyone was in some rush, pushing to finish the food and leaving. Headed over the bill just in the middle of out tea. Wasn't welcoming at all. That's a shame because food was delicious!

So many open tables but we were not accommodated without a reservation. Poor service. Will not attempt or recommend again because of this.
Be the first to ReplyScrapped dinner plans and came here off of recommendations.
Couldn't tell you how the food is as we were turned away and told the next table would be at 9:00pm. She didn't quote a "45 min" or "60 min" wait but instead a scripted time. Didn't even look around to see if we could be accommodated. I counted at least 6-7 open tables, some two tops and some four tops, and space at the bar. I won't ever try to come back again. There are better Indian restaurants in Manchester that accommodate walk-ins.
Be the first to ReplyTL;DR - One of the better curries you'll find in Manchester.
We came here for lunch on a cold and rainy day whilst waiting to watch a film at nearby HOME. We'd read good reviews about the place in advance, and weren't disappointed. Note that there's a lunch and a dinner menu in the window, but when we entered on a Saturday lunchtime they were just offering the dinner menu. Not that this was a problem! The menu offers a choice of multiple small tiffin dishes, but we went for the more traditional option and had a full curry (there are a couple of biryani options, plus a few other things). I went for the ITR chicken (house chicken curry), Sparky went for the ITR lamb. Note that despite the similar names, these were very different dishes - not just a case of a single sauce being poured over different meats!Currys come with a choice of bread or rice; we went for the bread and were impressed with the big, freshly baked bread we got. The curry portions looked small when we first got them, but actually were surprisingly filling and we felt we got decent value for money. The curries themselves were both absolutely delicious - definitely better than we've had in places like Akbar's. Service was polite, and most exciting of all they had Kingfisher beer on tap! Definitely worth a stop for curry lovers!
Be the first to ReplyAuthentic Indian food.
First time I came here was for dinner. One thing I notice is that their dinner portions are big compared to lunch. Both very filling, delicious and not too pricy for their location. Staff is super friendly and the place is spotless. Would definitely recommend.

Not too spicy or oily. One of my favourite. Only drawback: service is very slow

If you are searching for authentic tasting Indian food in Manchester, then here is the spot to visit. I was very impressed with the food here when I visited in February, and such a fantastic variety on the menu. One can really select a good range of delicious food to sample. My visit was a mix of friends and colleagues, and we all had a craving for good Indian food, and all left completely satisfied. To be honest, as a group, we tried a whole range of food from the menu, such as, Bheli Puri, Masala Dosa, Dosa, Chilli Squid (my favourite), and I had Lamb Kashmiri for a main, which is described as having "intense flabours" and oh my, it was flavourfully intense! The Kashmiri had the perfect level of spiciness to complement the taste. Superb! The venue is quite open with tall glass windows, and matches the decor of the environment and resides at the perfect location, situated at HOME, which is continually growing in popularity. The beer selection was limited, but one of the beers (Kingfisher) was a nice crisp lager, which went very well with the food.I look forward to returning and sampling more of the menu, if not that Chilli Squid, once again!

I Have to agree with hugo on this onethe food lacked flavour very bland on the startersmains was ok nothing to scream home aboutfood came on useless small trays no plates! unhelpful staff, when asked why every one didntget the starters altogether ? i was told: "you will get it when its ready!when he could of said " i will go and check. not good as people dont want to be eating before others. and its not as thoughtthe place was full or anything, only a couple of tables. On the plus side you can see the food being made I Had very high hopes of this place but wether i will give it another try am not sure!
Be the first to ReplyThe decoration in this place is definitely worth noting.
It's colorful and vibrant and the room is light and airy. The restaurant prides itself on its Indian Asian street food style menu. We had a selection of dishes to start and they all had great flavours without being too greasy. They included...paneer, goat keema, samosa, bhel puri and lots moreI went for the Kashmiri lamb for mains and would wholeheartedly recommend it. The lamb was tender and cooked in an amazingly moreish sauce that I could have eaten all day long. There was a berry mocktail that I can still taste but was a tad expensive. The one complaint I had was that they forgot my main and it was brought out a whole 10/15 minutes after everybody else had started eating and the staff barely acknowledged the fact.
Be the first to ReplyFor those who haven't dined at ITR's backstreet restaurant
For those who haven't dined at ITR's backstreet restaurant in Cheadle, this is a very different dining atmosphere, as the former is pretty small and elbow-room-only when you eat!Their second restaurant on the First Street development opposite HOME is vast in comparison, with a high ceiling, spacious seating and crazy-colourful neon lighting and artworks. Our group ordered a decent range of starters to share between us and they just kept on coming; pretty much every one hit the spot. I'd been recommended by a friend to order the Gobi Manchurian (wok-fried cauliflower) and it was gorgeous - and this is from someone who ordinarily dislikes cauliflower.Make sure you order the Butter Chicken for a main course; it's stupendous with a few roti to scoop up the chunks of meat in and soak up as much sauce as you can. It was a hearty and tasty sensation. So why not five stars? I think it's probably down to its cavernous interior and location - all polished glass and steel (you could be on the outskirts of Spinningfields). I missed the cosy charm that their Cheadle restaurant has; it seemed closer to how I'd imagine you'd have dinner out on the town in India (I'm probably misinformed, but it felt closer to street food than First Street ultimately did). The food is by far the best draw though, and city dwellers getting the opportunity to experience ITR's cooking is definitely no bad thing.
