A Joy
Have had curries everywhere over a lifetime....now in the Autumn of my years and rate ITR very highly. Highway chicken tikka is unsurpassable as was the lamb curry (I forget the precise description). Service excellent.

Came upon this place by accident, walking by, needed food. What a find! Food was excellent, service was fast and efficient. Looking forward to the next visit.
Be the first to ReplyMy favorite Indian place in MCR
My Indian heart place in Deansgate area. An explosion of Sapri and truly a culinary experience. Every time we choose different ones and everything is excellent. Very attentive service. Nice and modern place. Truly an experience not to be missed.

4 of us came here after a theatre matinee. It was packed at 6pm on a Saturday. Emma guided us through the menu (I've started asking for names when I get good service). Had some of her excellent recommendations...and my son has now discovered that he loves ochra fries. All very tasty and happy apart from the butter chicken which didn't have a lot of chicken for £14. Emma was great, as were all the staff who brought us dishes, drinks etc. We'd certainly visit again the next time we're there for a show. Just a bit more chicken next time.

We went hoping we would get an authentic Indian dinner with a street food twist and we were bitterly disappointed. The service was very slow and it took 30 minutes to get the bottle of wine we ordered. The food was below average and we should have just gone to Rusholme because there you are guaranteed a good dinner. I was astonished that the chicken Bhiriani was a piece of chicken coated in oily rice with a couple of pomigranet seeds on top and a couple of ribbons of lettice on the side, this is not the celebration dish you normally receive.

Went here after craving for some Indian food and wanted to try something different than our usual place (Ziya on curry mile). We were sat immediately without a booking which was nice, and had a look through the menus but it took quite a while for anyone to come over, maybe 15-18 mins later, someone does come over and only takes the drinks order, which was just 1 cocktail and some tap water and then wonders off again. We wait an additional 5 minutes maybe and me looking at the server for him to come back. So this is over 20 minutes now. We order, only informed about items that are out of stock when we ask about them, but it’s fine as I was hesitating between 2 anyway. Server is a bit odd, my partner thinks he smelt of beer, and was leaning on to a wall behind him while taking our order. Cocktail arrives and it was extra extra sweet, and I do like my sweets but that was a little over the top. Food arrives, in all the food was good but nothing amazing, starters do seem interesting so maybe we would come back to try some more, and the one that was out of stock :), shame there is no curry madras or tikka masala on the menu Very hard to get anyone’s attention, for more water or another cocktail. Took ages to manage to grab the servers attention for the bill and then the card machine, which was slightly annoying as we wanted to go. Wasn’t the worst but wasn’t the best Would give it another chance
Be the first to ReplyBest authentic Indian food around
Wish there was a 4.5 - I’d love a multi platter sharing option- charge me the same but allow me to have the hit of particularly the veggie options - the makkani dhal was beautiful but for £11.95 on it own I would have preferred a complete meal with it would less but a smaller chana rice and bread My companion had the 1/2 chicken which looked delicious Best authentic food around

Fantastic food. We all had different mains and they were all so tasty. Lamb, chicken and daal. Starters were all good too. Service excellent and patient as we navigated the menu.

Stayed in Manchester with friend for theatre trip and this restaurant was very close to the hotel we stayed in (Innside hotel) so decided to try for dinner . We tried a selection of small plates as well as sharing a main dish. We also sampled a couple of cocktails. Staff were very attentive and atmosphere was very relaxed . Food was lovely and food was explained to use and how best to sample it which was a nice touch . Actually if we went again we’d probably skip the main meal and sample a couple more small played as they were delicious. Place is nice and clean . Definitely worth a visit

Be the first to ReplyGreat Indian street food
My husband and I loved every bite of our dinners! I had a smoked cocktail in a jar ( can't remember the correct name ) that shouldn't be missed. I had a curry that was delightfully spiced and just the right amount of heat. The garlic naan was light and flavorful. Don't miss this place!
Be the first to ReplyA different Indian restaurant experience
Menu was excellent and different from the usual Indian menu as it was streetfood. We ordered a good selection of starters an dmains and everything was absolutely delicious. The staff were all really friendly and gave us advice on the menu and how to eat some of the dishes as we had never had them before Really good cocktail menu with out of the ordinary cocktails. Food came out really quickly too. Nice ambiance in the restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyReally good and unusual Indian restaurant.
Lovely food, very different to the average Indian restaurant. Some fantastic flavours. Specialises in Indian street food, it’s worth looking hard at the menu and speaking to the staff, as you really do get the food described in the menu. Saturday evening was very busy, but we weren’t hurried out. The staff were really helpful and the atmosphere lively with a lot of contented customers.
Be the first to ReplyVery small portions.
Lovely food.Good service but such small portions we ordered 5 different curries to share between 5 of us.We struggled to do that as on average 4 chunks of meat in 1 serving !!

Went for a meal with some work colleagues. Atmosphere was amazing, food was delicious and the staff were excellent. Really enjoyed our meal. Some of the work party had some cocktails and they said they were delicious. Definitely coming back here the next time we are in Manchester.

Three of went to this restaurant on a Wednesday evening. We had booked a table which was just as well as it was busy. Despite it being busy, the service was excellent. The staff were very welcoming, knowledgable and willing to give recommendations. We chose a sharing starter along with a few other small dishes to start. All were amazing. For our main course we went with the waiters recommendations, and again we were not disappointed. Really tasty food, well prepared and presented. We'll definitely be back.

Busy restaurant, with great atmosphere. Attentive knowledgeable and helpful staff , especially explaining unfamiliar dishes so clearly. The food was excellent, of wide variety and beautifully presented. Thank you
Be the first to ReplyTasty Food, Great Service.
We went for a family meal and all thoroughly enjoyed it. My husband had the lamb nihari and it was delicious! I could have eaten just the sauce and Roti and been happy! It’s good to see things on a menu that you don’t normally find in Indian restaurants and we shared a grazing platter starter which was really good. I do think it was a little in the expensive side, which is the only reason I’ve not given 5 stars, but we will definitely return.

I like Indian food but don't have it that often because it gives me reflux. The smell coming from the restaurant was lovely. The atmosphere in the restaurant was great, the service was good, despite the restaurant being full. The food was amazing (and I'm a tough critic) and I didn't have heartburn afterwards. Lovely meal and we will go back next time we're in Manchester.
Be the first to ReplyUnique options
Aside from being slighly overpriced and being given the tiniest cups of water to try get you to buy more drinks, it has a lovely atmosphere and great food. Everything was tasty and it was great to see unique items on the menu such as indian pancakes which I had never seen being offered before and was a fantastic surprise especially with vegan options too - just make sure to ask as you enter. One point I will make that was misleading was on their online menu there was a section which included more food options than we say in the restaurant such a indian donut and mentioned this was for breakfast lunch and dinner so we expected to be able to try this too.

Went to the ITR after our sons graduation ceremony at Bridgewater Hall on July 12th 2022. Had the Chicken Tikka Masala and it was an absolute pleasure. Really nice food and good service. To mark the occasion our son ordered a cocktail which was set on fire. He ordered some vegetarian food and also enjoyed it. Great evening. Thanks for the memories ITR.
