Indian Take Away-Bhatti Service Restaurant Bern Reviews from The Last Year
Finally tried this much talked about indian place ! Glad
Finally tried this much talked about indian place ! Glad both me and my friend were starving and were so ready to order and get started! We arrived at 5:30pm without any reservations and were the only one there for the next 15 min but soon it started getting super busy. Benarasi chaat - great start!! Unlike typical chaats, the tamarind chutney wasn't sweet and savory, it was hardly sweet. Not a complaint but it was different than what I was expecting. Great nevertheless! Rajma kebab- loved these! Soft and tender , slightly garnished with beetroot and some chutneys. Bhatti special daal - as expected, it was creamy and full of texture!! I would not say it was the best one but surely a great taste! Mixed vegetables- surprisingly, I loved this one the most! None of the dishes were super spicy but mild and flavorful! I'm so happy I finally tried this place!
I thought this was a great spot! The paneer and chili Gobi
I thought this was a great spot! The paneer and chili Gobi appetizers were absolutely excellent, and the chicken tikka masala was decent. It felt a little like we had to get the servers' attention a couple times but overall had a good experience. I'd go again!
Acceptable, without further ado
Restaurant a little hidden and with a not very pretty entrance although the interior improves, the interior is prettier than the terrace. food, reasonable quantity and price
Great food lovely staff
Great food and really friendly staff. We had a lovely dinner and our waiter Praveen was super nice making small jokes with our 8 year old son and attentively taking care of our special requests for dessert.
I've only ordered takeout from here - we ordered the lamb
I've only ordered takeout from here - we ordered the lamb kebabs and bhuna gosht with tandoor roti. Food was pretty decent will definitely order from here again.

Amongst the very average Indian food around the city, this place is a better option between fine dining and your average Indian place. Highly recommend this place if you're looking for a good, satisfying meal.
This is my new favorite Indian restaurant.
Walked in for Sunday lunch with no reservation and was seated quickly. Very clean & overall good vibes. Got the paneer tikka, chili gobhi, palak paneer and anjeer malai kofta. The entrees do not come with rice, so it has to be ordered separately (one was good for 3 people, but we also got naan). The garlic naan has the perfect crisp to chewy ratio and was absolutely delicious. Everything was very flavorful. There is definitely a spicy kick in every dish so be cautious if you can't handle any spice.
OK but no more
The food was OK. We took the lunch buffet and with hindsight we should have ordered different dishes. The food wasn’t really hot enough (temperature not spice!) either. The waiters were rushed off their feet…had to ask 3 times for coffee which never came and for the bill which I ended up going to the counter to pay. I also had a problem with the stairs only to be told there was a lift on the other side…a sign at the foot of the stairs might be nice! Would I go back? Yes but not for the buffet nd probably not at lunch when they are so busy.
I recently visited this restaurant for the first time, and
I recently visited this restaurant for the first time, and unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. The service was notably lacking - the servers were short and not particularly welcoming, which impacted the overall atmosphere. Moreover, the highlight of any Indian restaurant should be its signature dishes. Regrettably, the chicken tikka masala, a dish I usually enjoy, did not live up to expectations. The flavor profile leaned heavily towards sweetness, deviating from the balanced and savory taste I anticipated. Adding to the disappointment was the pricing; it felt disproportionately high for the quality of the food and service received. If you're looking for good Indian in the area, I would recommend Sathi.
Too many delivery men going in and out! Too busy! Food
Too many delivery men going in and out! Too busy! Food was ok nothing special! Service Was very nice!
I am here right now and I am very impressed.
I'm British and find American Indian places to be pretty poor. Not this one. Excellent red bean kebabs, excellent chicken chettinard, excellent zesty lemon rice. Poppadums are crisp without being burnt or oily. Mango chutney tastes home made. Excellent efficient service
Bhatti earns a solid 4/5 rating.
The staff is warm, the ambiance lively, and the food a treat. The rampuri kebab, though a tad salty, shines with lemon and raita. The bansari chaat is great, and the bhatti daal is tasty but slightly undercooked. The laccha paratha is the perfect accompaniment. For Indian cuisine enthusiasts, Bhatti is a must-visit.
I'm pretty disappointed, I think the quality is lacking
I'm pretty disappointed, I think the quality is lacking compared to what it used to be. I ordered the saag paneer which was so salty it was almost inedible, the butter chicken also had way too much cardamom in it and it overpowered the whole dish. I did enjoy the chaat, that was what made me give this 2 stars. Even the garlic naan wasn't that garlicky lol I've had better Indian food at Trader Joe's
I had the vegetable biryani and the lamb naan, and both
I had the vegetable biryani and the lamb naan, and both were excellent in my opinion. At outside, which was nice, but the indoor vibe seemed very energetic/ and lively. Would definitely return!

Came here on a Tuesday evening with a reservation and were seated immediately. It's a pretty small place so if you want indoor seating, I would definitely recommend making a reservation. Here's what we got: Chili Gobi - really good! Not as spicy as you would think but has a decent kick! I was a really unique flavor I would say and was pretty good Saag Paneer - really yummy! Not usually a big fan of saag but this was really good, would recommend! Malai Kofta - this I would pass on. The gravy was decent but definitely on the sweeter side. I wasn't a big fan of the kofta, was kind of bland and just sweet. Overall, this is a decent place to get indian food. Nothing out of this world but definitely will satisfy your indian food craving!
Best Indian Restaurant
Bern's rich history and Namaste India's rich flavors make for a perfect pairing. From the soft naans to the spicy curries, everything speaks of genuine Indian craftsmanship. It's a delightful little corner of India right in the center of Bern.

I have a notice stating that my bid has been accepted and is awaiting transfer. The reservation is for the 18th, but the “moderator” said he will confirm booking by the 28th. Is this an indicator that I may not have a reservation?

Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
