The food here is fantastic and the staff is usually friendly and helpful. However it's always crowded and noisy, so if you're looking for a quiet place to eat, it might not be the best option. It's the kind of restaurant where people go to "see and be seen," so that's part of the issue, which can be good or bad depending on what you're into. If you like high-quality, authentic Italian food and are in Beverly Hills, it's definitely worth trying at least once.
Be the first to ReplyWaiters were extremely sweet, and the food was delicious.
They even offered a vase for our flowers.

Came here on a Tuesday night and having to wait for 15 mins for a table tell you how popular this place can be! It is a high end Italian restaurant right in the middle of Beverly Hills. Our friend is a regular here so he took care of the ordering. We ordered seafood tomato based soup, lobster linguine, T-bone and Filet mignon, lentils and shrimp salad, and many more. Everything is so delicious and with the right portion so you don't feel stuffed after trying different dishes. The desserts are a must too! The only down side is the waiter forgot our fried calamari but still included in the bill. We caught it and it was not a big deal for us, but he apologized and corrected right away.
Be the first to ReplyYeh ambiance was off.
Too busy too many people. They seated us very close to the others. Food was good except my lobster was overcooked. The waiter was not inattentive to ask how was the food. They ended up to give me a new lobster. The pasta tasted good tho.
Be the first to Replywe've been going to il Postaio for years.

Be the first to ReplyWhen my friend and I walked up to the host stand to check
When my friend and I walked up to the host stand to check in for our reservation, we were not greeted, we said hello first. After the host told the other host where to seat us, the manager said "oh no go to this table remember the other guests wanted to be inside." we were then sat towards the very back of the worst part of the outdoor patio. we felt pretty judged. when the host sat us, she was holding the drink menu but did not leave it at the table. i had to ask the server for it, as I wanted to order a drink. the server commented and said probably because you look so young. The server was a middle aged lady who treated us like she did not want us to be in her section and we were inconveniencing her. she didnt introduced herself, as she was never at our table for more than 30 seconds at a time throughout the night. when she brought the drink menu over she asked if we were ready to order, not if we had any questions. we started off with the calamari which i liked, it was light and not too battered, but it didn't have much flavor. when she came back, she didn't check if we liked the calamari, she just asked are you ready and we said we were not sure, so she walked away, and did not give us any suggestions or recommendations. we ordered the salad and each got a pasta. the food was good but not worth the terrible service with how uncomfortable we were. The only person who made us feel welcomed was the gentleman who kept our water glasses full. when we received the check, we were charged for bread, which is funny because we were never even offered bread... we would not go back

Be the first to ReplyI don't know why such a positive reviews on this
I don't know why such a positive reviews on this establishment is about...maybe the location?? The food was average at best; the portions are small for what you get; the temperature of the food served was lukewarm; the truffle pasta was so thick that it was pasty n the taste was below average; the Arrabiata pasta was the worst i ever had; the mushroom risotto is on par with Trader Joe's frozen mushroom risotto. The ambience was nice was if you're looking for tasty Italian, go elsewhere.
Be the first to ReplyI've dined any many fine dining establishments, and I hate
I've dined any many fine dining establishments, and I hate to say how disappointed I was in this restaurant. The service I received was the worst I have ever received in my life. I have never felt more dissatisfied in a dining experience. I had reservations placed and the hostess was kind. Upon being sat down, our waitress was beyond rude. She came to our table and told us it seems you still aren't finish with the menu with that being said I'm going to take care of my actual customers. I was take off guard to a new extent. After placing our order she hadn't checked in on us once, she wasn't even the one to bring us a check. I had to ask another waitress to bring us the check since she ignored us the entire time. Keep in mind, she was attentive to the other two tables she was waiting on except ours. I asked to speak with the manager and Felix was nice and professional. He offered for us to come back, I declined since that experience put such a sour taste in my mouth.
Be the first to ReplyThis is a quintessential tourist trap restaurant.
Food is generally good; front reception polite but the waiters are mostly rude and arrogant. At night they're dressed up with bow tie and suit thinking they're Oscar night hosts. Prices are expensive not to mention side dishes ridiculously minimal and same with pasta portions. Overall horrible service.

Amazing service. Best pasta in Beverly Hills by far. The Farfalle al Salmone was to die for.
Be the first to ReplyIf you want good food with a side of horrible customer
If you want good food with a side of horrible customer service this is the place to go. They really need to train their waiters how to be nice to EVERYONE, not just to the people who "look rich". The discrimination we experienced in this place was REAL!

Met here for dinner, great food, service was excellent, and Ambiance was good. We were seated in a smaller room, they had a few different rooms, and lots of outdoor dining. We just felt it was too chilly for the outdoor, although they had heaters. We had really great bread with olive oil!! We had the Vegitriana with grilled calamari. We ordered the Rigatoni ala Justin Bieber, the Tortelloni di Zucca, and the Spaghetti con Langostino. Everything was cooked to perfection, and served with great professionalism ! Drinks were good.
Be the first to ReplyDelish Italian food, lots of gluten free options.
Great staff and overall good atmosphere and vibe
Be the first to ReplyFood had no taste at all.
Neither did the cheescake!Don't know what the whole buzz is all about
Be the first to ReplyFood was good.
Best was Tagliatelle pasta with added cheese wheel. Then added truffles and pasta just melted in your mouth. The sausage and rosemary risotto was good as well. Cesar salad tasty but a bit mayo tasting. The spinach and cheese ravioli not as good, just bland.Service was great. Staff were nice and attentive!Ambiance was okay. Not a fan of having to sit kinda outdoors under these tents. Takes away the experience and expensive priced foods. Also, restaurant charges for bread at $1.50/person. They did not mention that and area inconvenient so you have to valet park.

Came here for my birthday last Tuesday at around 5:30 and it was pretty empty. We asked to be seated inside but they said there was no room, even though it was empty. Luckily they have heaters outside because it was freezing and rainy. The wait staff was really nice and kept checking on us throughout the evening. The food was amazing!! We ordered...Calamari: 8/10 extremely fresh! Caesar Salad: 10/10 the best I have ever had!! Iloved the big chunks of parm on top.Justin Beiber Pasta: 10/10 wow the vodka sauce on this pasta is absolutely amazing, I would come back just to eat this alone.Black Truffle Pasta on Cheese Wheel: 9/10 delicious and heavenly. The truffle sort of smells funky and threw me off in the beginning but it taste nothing like it smells. I loved this pasta and highly recommend trying it at least once. Its very pricey but worth it at least once. Pana Cotta: 10/10 first time trying pana cotta and I fell in love!Tiramisu: 7/10 it was very good but nothing special.

While trying to decide where to have dinner, we stumbled upon Il Pastaio. Although it may be considered pricey, it's definitely worth it! We indulged in the fabulous eggplant roll appetizer (see pic) and the intriguing artichoke salad. The black and white pasta with perfectly cooked clams was also quite enjoyable. For dessert, the lemon tart (see pic) was grand, but don't forget to try their exceptional moscato dessert wine. Our waiter provided excellent wine recommendations and service without being overly attentive. We sat outside, and despite usually feeling cold, I didn't need my coat since each table had its own heater. In retrospect, we regret not choosing the 6-course tasting menu, which was similarly priced and would have allowed us to sample even more of their delicious dishes. We definitely plan on returning to this winning restaurant!

I have been to this restaurant twice in the past year and both times the service lacked. The main servers were not friendly or helpful with suggestions. The last time I was there the server had this entitled demeanor and his answer to every question was "just get both". The only time he cracked a smile was when he brought the check. The food honestly is just okay. Calamari was tasteless and underwhelming. I do however suggest trying the agnolotti - stuffed mushroom ravioli which is really good. Also, I wanted to mention how you have to walk almost through the kitchen to get to the bathroom. There are plates ready to be served and people just way past the plates in a tight hallway.

Came here today for my friend's birthday! The drinks were great, the food was great, and Nino gave amazing service. We were seated outside but it was actually really nice & we didn't feel cold. Grazie mille Nino for the incredible experience.

This was my first time dining in Beverley Hills, CA! The service was amazing and I can not tell you how good the pasta is. The pasta tastes extremely fresh and the ravioli practically melted in my mouth when eating. I ate at the outdoor seating (there were heaters) which was the perfect ambiance.

Be the first to ReplyThe biggest joke in town.
My daughter ordered the cheese-wheel pasta. What a shock. The check came for a $90 plate of pasta a person. I never had a $90 pasta. The menu said $28. The waitress never told us that the cheese wheel is additional $28 on top of the pastas on top of the menu, $55 and $60 pastas. Be aware as this is the biggest scam. As of the taste, not even close. As of the service, always rude. Never going back there again. I would give them a zero if I could. I am sure many others experienced the same shock.
Be the first to ReplyCan I just start off by saying if your in this area
Can I just start off by saying if your in this area definitely go and try the food. Omg so good! Everything, when we got there we didn't have a reservation but our wait on a Saturday night was short. Our waitress was wonderful as well made some great recommendations. Our food came out pretty quickly and we enjoyed our whole time their especially our food. We started with the bread basket, for our main we had the truffle pasta in the cheese, the Justin Bieber, and two of the salmon pasta. Hands down definitely try the truffle pasta so darn good. And we ordered panna cotta, and chocolate the dessert could've been better but overall tasted like we were in Italy. I'm for sure coming back.
