Amazing experience eating here! I usually review ramen
Amazing experience eating here! I usually review ramen based on broth, pork, and noodles and all three of these here were spot on delcoins. You can tell this is an establishment that takes pride in their craft and it may be one of the best ramens I have ever had. Stopped in for dinner on a Saturday and waited about 15-20 min to order at the kiosk. You only have two choices - either veggie or pork tonkotsu ramen. Once you order, you are seated in traditional Japanese booth stalls to fully immerse in eating this delicious ramen. Ambiance is fast casual and everyone is seated in A long line of private booths. There is a call button for water and then information on Ichiran, it's suggested way to eat the ramen, and even useful Japanese phrases. I was sooo happy when my ramen came out. I could tell it was top notch ramen after taking a few sips of the broth. The broth is packed with pork, umami flavor and I would just drink this straight from the bowl its so good. The thinly sliced pork is flavorful and the thin noodles are perfectly cooked. I only wished they pre-cracked the soft boiled egg as that got kind of messy. Overall, one of the best ramen I have had. This would be my go-to ramen if I lived here! I will be dreaming of it and will be retuning next time I am in NY (or Japan!)

The ramen is exactly served as it was in Japan but the price was much more than I expected. I ordered one regular ramen with extra toppings, the total is more than $30. More than I feel for a ramen. The service is great and it didn't ask for tips in your bill.
Be the first to ReplyWhat an amazing experience! My daughter kept showing me
What an amazing experience! My daughter kept showing me ramen houses in Japan just like this place that she wanted to visit, so I was really excited to take her here while in NY. The service, food and experience were all great! The line and the wait was not too long at all. The place was pretty quiet for the amount of ppl that were there and everyone was very friendly. There are partition between each person for privacy or you can choose to fold it up if you are there with someone or a group, my daughter refused to fold it up b/c she wanted the whole experience, lol. We would love to come back when we are in this area again.

Pretty cool place with some tasty ramen! I like the sit down booths and customization
Be the first to ReplyLegit ramen, not many choices, just cook and condiments.
Short wait around 6p on wed night before a show. Very cool old school booths for quick efficient service. Tonkatsu broth was great, my son picked up the bowl with 2 hands and drank it clean!
Be the first to ReplyThis ramen is exactly the one I had in Japan.
I didn't have high expectations for the ones in NYC but I'm glad to say it surpassed my expectations. It's perfect for solo dining and the noodles were amazing. Would definitely be coming back
Be the first to ReplyThe best thing I have ever eaten in my life.
Period. Nothing will ever beat this. Ever.
Be the first to ReplyOverall, it was a pretty good experience, with helpful
Overall, it was a pretty good experience, with helpful staff and innovative design, but the default settings for the ramen is a little oily and salty, so you may want to check the customization. Also, the spice ball may be a little spicy for not very spice-tolerant people, so if there is a setting to tune it down some people might want to do it. But anyway, the staff was friendly, the ramen pretty good, but you may want to check the customizations offered.
Be the first to ReplyIt's definitely a different experience, fast and the ramen
It's definitely a different experience, fast and the ramen is ok. Not a place to chat with friends while eating.
Be the first to ReplyI had this in Japan and at home with the ramen kit.
It's just good ramen. I got low sodium - don't do this. It was rather bland. My daughter's medium was better. Not salty like I thought it might be. I got level 2 for spiciness (recommended) - it is not spicy. Go 3 or 4. Kinda pricy at $29 a bowl. The make at home kit only has 3 servings. You can get them on Amazon for that amount, but for 5 servings.

Service: 5/5 - Quick and accommodating is the best way to describe the service. The hostess and other staff try to help manage the long line, and it's always out the door, even at lunch (went twice). The hostess at the front of the line with ask if you would like the vegetarian or standard option and will seat you in the section based on your choice. From there, it's no contact essentially.Food: 5/5 - When seated, there will already be a quiz for you. JK, but you fill out the sheet based on your preferences on the type of ramen you would like to eat. Firmess, spice levels, flavor ranges, extras, etc. The tonkotsu ramen is great and would argue it's basically like the ramen at the Japanese locations. Creamy broth, rich egg, firm noodles, a heap of scallions, basically all of the toppings you'd expect. Price: 4/5 - Ramen is typically one of the dishes that sits on the ~$20-30 price range, will admit that it is not the cheapest food option. Ambiance: 5/5 - If you've ever felt anxious about dining alone, I think this is a great place to go to since it's essentially minimum contact.
Be the first to ReplyWe waited an hour in line with children in the freezing
We waited an hour in line with children in the freezing cold. We also waited about 30 mins before being served despite the papers being pre filled out and ready to go. This is a no tipping restaurant which doesn't entirely make sense for the employees in this day and age. Yes they make higher wages but not high enough to live off of. It's a Japan style ramen booth which I thought was very neat. We fill our own water cups while we wait. I did notice that they left the booths empty in front of me the entire time I was there which was disappointing because people were waiting so long outside. With this restaurant making only 1 food item, you'd think they could crank it out super fast with the amount of employees they have. It felt highly inefficient. When I looked on the board of seating, I saw so many green seats (indicating open) while there were flocks of people waiting still. I think they need to figure out a more efficient process to seat and feed people. My family loved the ramen but I can't say I'd come back. With inflation prices being so high, $30 feels a tad steep and the fact they were so fixated on any child above 8 y.o. Can't get the kids ramen. My 10y.o. kid didn't eat the $22 bowl, so guess what, we tossed half.
Be the first to ReplyYou can't go wrong with the Yakibuta .
.. the Yakibuta is a delicacy in itself!! So savory and tender ... perfect flavor profile for this dinner! Dessert was a wonderful Matcha Pudding ... layered with the matcha at the bottom!

Line moves pretty fast so don't be intimidated if it's running out the door. The menu is pretty limited but it's not a problem as what they offer they've mastered. I HIGHLY recommend getting the premium pork add on. Was probably some of the best food I've had in NYC.

My must go ramen spot every time I visit New York City! We got there at 9pm on a Sunday and there was still a line. You can customize your bowl of noodles such as the texture of your noodles (I personally like my noodles firm), strength of dashi flavor and richness of your broth, level of minced garlic and scallion and the spice level. The only thing I wish that was different was that Spicy level 2 could more spicy. It is rather mild and I couldn't taste the spiciness after mixing it in the broth. As for dessert, the Matcha pudding is hands down the best matcha dessert I have ever had and always end my meal at Ichiran with it without sharing :P
Be the first to ReplyThe BEST ramen in New York City.
..hands down. Worth the wait. My kid is obsessed with the vegetarian ramen. It's not one the main menu but ask for it! Do not miss the match pudding at the end. Pricey and small, but honestly I dream about that pudding!
Be the first to ReplyI always wanted to try the solo booths of Japanese ramen
I always wanted to try the solo booths of Japanese ramen and this is an amazing experience as I'm not a person who typically goes to restaurants by myself. I did go with someone else, but I realized that the mini booth made it easy for one to eat alone without feeling awkward. The food was good and I highly recommend you getting the desert as it was such a highlight to my meal. I just don't recommend the service. You fill out a piece of paper, circling all you're going to order and they still don't get it right. My extra egg had to be asked for twice before it was brought to me and then some later brought another saying I ordered it, but by then, I was done with my ramen asking for dessert. I also had to ask for my rice... all of this was checked or circled on my paper too.... When I asked for my dessert, I was given a soft boiled egg saying I ordered it and had to call them once again saying I requested dessert, not eggs. It was kind of frustrating for me at the time being, but other than that, I'd say it's a nice experience for beginner solo diners to try.

I always recommend the ramen here! The servers are always super friendly and they help seat efficiently, the atmosphere of the restaurant itself it also nice and casual, good to come here by yourself or with friends!
Be the first to ReplyTheir tonkatsu ramen is amazing.
They serve only one kind of ramen, tonkatsu, and it can be customized with fillings and spice level. You can open the dividers between ramen stalls if you're going with friends. Other than that, amazing service and it is a no-tipping restaurant.

HONESTLY THE BEST PLACE I HAVE EVER BEEN GIVEN THE PRIVILEGE OF EATING AT. Not only was the experience and environment so exciting, new, cool, fresh, but the FOOD. Y'all if I could eat here everyday for the rest of my life I would. I would MOVE to New York just for the honor of being able to eat here consistently. The staff was so amazing too. Definitely a place I would bring everyone I know to at least ONCE.

As a huge fan of the location in Tokyo, I had to visit this restaurant again when I was in town. We showed up 30 minutes before they closed and they still welcomed us in with open arms when it was our turn in line. We had a pen on hand which allowed us to choose everything we wanted in line! This is a great place if you want to grab a quick bite either by yourself or with friends. The booths on the side open up so you can sit together and I believe there may be rooms where you have an open space together (at least that's how it was in Tokyo, anyways).Service was quick and the ramen is made to how you like it. Texture of the noodles, thickness and saltiness of the broth, etc. I ordered everything classic across the board with noodles on the firm side, light on the saltiness and medium spice. I got the topping combo but my egg was near hard-boiled while my friends have soft boiled eggs. It was still delicious though! There are many ramen places in town to choose from, but I highly recommend this one as the quality and service is highly consistent if you're looking for a good no frills place. Very fairly priced too compared to some other places I had in the area!!
Be the first to ReplyGreat ramen, perfect blend of soup and noodles.
Would visit again when I come to New York. One of the best ramen I ever had.
Be the first to ReplyIchiran is as good as I remember.
Haven't been here since pre-pandemic. Fat service. Great broth. Expect to wait on line outside. There is ALWAYS a line.
