Met some friends for an afternoon lunch and it turned out that all four of us ordered the same eggplant entree. Service, menu selection, ambiance and food presentation along with taste were superb. It was a very pleasant afternoon.

I love the resturant very traditional and old school. The staff are very nice and friendly.

Another beautiful find, this one requires a shout-out to a gluten intolerant friend of mine (big up the allergies!) We were meeting up as a group of 5 old uni friend and were looking for suitable places somewhere fairly central. We hit upon this little gem that does 50% off food Monday - Friday 7pm - 9:45pm. WIN And they said they could cater for all diets so we went along. This little underground bar & restaurant seats maximum 50 people and was nicely full (we made a reservation just to be sure) on a Tuesday night, so that's a good sign to start with! Really friendly staff who were so helpful about the allergies and generally recommending dishes to us, you can't fault the service here. Based down the road from the Monument, we rocked surrounded by city workers in full suits heading for the nearest pub (I suppose their jobs must be pretty stressful!). We sat down to bread and oil/ balsamic vinegar, always a nice touch whe you don't have to ask for that. They unfortauntely had just run out of gluten-free bread, shame. We had a couple of bottle of wines, sampling the red and white varieties. I'm normally a white drinker, but I actually preferred the red this time, very mellow and soft (the white was a touch more tart). You have to have at least 2 courses to get the deal of 50% off so we opted for starter & main, thinking that the pudding stomach would kick in anyway so we could have it too (got to love that pudding stomach!) I went for tuna carpaccio with dill creme fraiche and a caper dressing, followed by Lamb shank off the bone with corainder and carrot puy lentils. They were both delicious! The tuna could have been seared a touch more but was beautifully thin and tasty. The lamb, well that was incredible! Melt in your mouth soft and packed with juices and flavour that were just soaked up by the lentil mix. Friends had wood pigeon, veal, guinea fowl aplenty and all were uttering those same delicious yummy sounds that I was. So much so that the pudding stomach was not needed this time, super full! Then the bill came and it was a measly ยฃ25 including service charge (which we were more than happy to pay!). I will be back here very soon. Excellent

Unlike the first Harry's that I visited during my stay in London, the decor here is much more traditional. Once you walk down the stairs in to the restaurant, you are greeted by a friendly hostess. The floor plan is quite choppy with numerous small rooms and table in small nooks throughout. The dining tables are beautiful wrought iron and wooden pieces. The menu is similar to other Harry's Bars with typical pub food as well as numerous fish options. I ordered the seared salmon that had tomato, coriander, and onion on top. Served on the side was a potato. The salmon was cooked to the proper medium rare as requested, however it was gray in appearance. I'm not sure how they cooked the salmon back in the kitchen. It appeared extremely unappetizing. The potato was just that... a baked potato with no butter, salt, pepper, or anything to give it much flavor. For British food it wasn't the worst, but it was nothing to write home about.Thank goodness we had wine, that was something to enjoy.

This is a small bar and restaurant, tucked underground in a courtyard off Cannon Street. As you descend the stairs, you feel like you're entering a secret cave. You're greeted at the door by a smart waitress, who will escort you to your seat and take your drink order. There is an area for drinking, and a small, separate dining area for those eating from the a la carte. In the drinking area, there's a 'bar menu' of sandwiches and chips, rather overpriced considering what you actually get, you're looking at ยฃ5 for a sandwich. In the dining area, there's a full menu of haute cuisine, prices start at around ยฃ15 for a main course. Due to the location of the bar, Harry's is incredibly popular with local businessmen and women, often hosing client lunches and drinks here. The whole place has a very nice, professional atmosphere. The owner is often in here, and appreciates feedback - good or bad - from punters. A very nice venue for a business lunch, or post work drinks.
