I ordered a Oyako Don for delivery and I loved it.
The portion was fair for the price and the quality of the ingredients (Chicken and Mushrooms) was really good.

Seated right away. The ambience is nice and upscale. I was expecting a lot out of this place based on the introduction of the chef on the menu. I was a little disappointed. First off, the items are way overpriced. While the chef may have been at a Michelin star restaurant in a previous time, this restaurant is not one, and the prices are way above what you would expect. Visually the dishes look impressive. For example I tried the fish and chips. It looks stunning. But the flavor is extremely lacking. The chips are paper thin and there is only 5 or 6 of them. The fish theoretically would have been nice, but the execution left a lot to desire. Having a fried crust but raw on the inside just didn't sit right. The remainder of the dishes were lacklusterOverall, would not come here again.Overall,

It is very upscale. Although it was empty when we went. Don't come here if you're hungry. But do come if you like ambiance, very mood. I had some kind of hot pot (sorry it's been months since I went I don't remember the exact name), which left a lot to be desired. My husband had the fish and chips which was basically a beautifully presented one inch piece of fish plus a slither of a potato, cut up and distributed throughout a tree branch. Cool concept but maybe we were just hungry for more substantial food.

The menu items do not look very traditionally Japanese. I don't know if I would consider it an izakaya as I know it. I think what might have helped is having some pictures in the menu. If you don't walk in with izakaya or Japanese restaurant but a Japanese fusion expectation I think it probably would have worked better. The presentation of the food is quite pretty. However with the ร la carte sรฉlection I would expect something slightly more substantial.

We had two starters and sukiyaki don for main. Everything was fresh, flavourful, and beautifully presented. The only issue I had was their portions -- they were on the small side for the price. Service was excellent. Our waitress was very friendly and prompt; she even greeted us by name, recognising the reservation we had. Ambience was spot on. Minimal but very tasteful, and great for any posh occasion.

Miso marinated pork was excellent! Presentation was incredibly interesting. Went on a Sunday and we were the only ones in the restaurant. Don't miss this hidden gem. Will definitely return if we are ever back in London to see how the rest of the menu holds up.

* Really good Google Reviews but didn't live up to the hype* Friendly staff - they were waiting for us at the entrance and guessed our names based on our OpenTable reservation, primarily because there was no one else in the restaurant at 8pm (red flag?)* They had a lot of trouble taking our order.* The server came back to our table 2-3 times to clarify what we originally ordered, then 10 minutes later the chef came back to tell us they didn't have it. * They got other parts of our order wrong and forgot certain items all together * Food was served 7-10 minutes apart, so only one of us was eating at a time* Vegetables seemed like they had been frozen* Food was a little overpriced* Great location though, close to the London Eye.
