Elevated Americanized Korean food- definitely on the pricier side so bookmark this place for a nice date night or a special occasion. We made our reservation via Resy- good thing we did, because this place fills up fast. We were seated at an outdoor table (don't worry, you will be super toasty- the heat lamps are very effective) and scanned the QR code for the menu. For drinks, my husband ordered the The Squid and the Whale (a tasty sesame oil flavored savory cocktail- we felt it would go well with some rice...!) and I got the School Girl Cocktail (aka alcoholic lychee/grape juice - yum!) The other cocktails sounded interesting too (some using rhubarb bitters, jalapeño infused tequila..! Nice!) For our apps, we ordered the oysters (served with brioche toast and topped with seaweed butter) and the Dukboki fundido (a happy marriage of Mexican+Korean cuisine, spicy rice cakes in the red pepper sauce with a blanket of Oaxaca cheese and chorizo). The oysters you can skip- it's 4 small oysters and was very much what you'd expect. The dukboki is a must- the cheese and chorizo went so well with the spicy sauce, we made sure to scrap the bowl clean. For our entrees, we shared the Spanish mackerel (grilled with a nice crispy skin, served with toasted seaweed and alfalfa sprouts/gochujang sauce) and the spicy squid bibimbap. The mackerel was super simple but just SO good, the quality of the fish was fantastic. Wrap that baby up in seaweed with some sauce/sprouts and rice (it comes with a bowl of rice). The spicy squid bibimbap was so tasty as well (and a treat for the eyes!) We made sure we had room in our stomachs for dessert- sesame creme brûlée and cinnamon sugar beignets! Really nice way to end the meal. Service was friendly and attentive (our server was great!)
