I was told carrot cake is a delicious local dish that I must try in Singapore so I did. A few times in fact. Meh, totally didn't get the hype...until I tried it at this location! I get it now! For the locals, "carrot" seems to refer to radish or daikon and not the orange carrot I would normally think of.This version was super tasty and I did try both the black and white version at this place as well as previously at other locaitons so had good comparison. This one definitely has the perfect ratio of carrot cake, egg and preserved vegetables. No idea what type of seasoning goes into it but the texture was perfect. Love that it's not too broken up so that there's still decent sized chunks of egg to pick at.Black version is a bit sweeter so my personal preference is the slightly more savoury white one. However, every time I've been here the queue is almost 30 minutes so by the time I get to order, I often just get one of each...heck for $2.50, why not?
