The food, service and ambiance was immaculate! However, the service was a bit delayed for breakfast and lunch. The pasta lacked flavor but everything was great! I had the tuna tartare - 10/10 Eggplant pasta 6/10 Molten cake w/french vanilla ice cream - 9/10 Crispy chicken sandwich w/maple bacon - 10/10 Cappuccino (x3) - 10/10 Service - 10/10 Ambiance - 8/10 (the place is beautiful but some of the upholstery and tables were dirty) Chicken sausage 1/10 Smoked salmon 8/10 Croissant 7/10

There are crystal chandeliers, comfortable couches, and a beautiful set up. The high tea was delicious. The food was inventive with a good mix of ingredients. The tea was sublime. There are so many choices. The service was wonderful. Everything was very good. The only issue is that when you book you must tell them which tea service you want or you will get the Prince of Wales tea. The reservations department left much to be desired in trying to book this. Though the food service manager was very helpful in allowing us to make changes due to dietary restrictions.

Absolutely loved the vibe of the bar and as the evening progressed the vibe changed with it as well. The towers of caviar and lite bites were delicious and not to be missed. The beverage selection was vast and the service was impeccable without being intrusive.

If you are looking for a special place to have a cocktail or high tea I would suggest the Baccarat Grand Salon. You will not be sorry. It was one of the most elegant (and delicious) High Tea experiences I have ever had, including many in London.

A friend and I came by on a weekday afternoon for afternoon high tea after getting massages at Spa De La Mer downstairs. What a treat! We got the Prince of Wales set, and it was really good! Lots of savory and sweet goodies, plus two large scones for the each of us. I asked the staff to give me cooked-only savory treats, which they were able to accommodate with no problems. I'll have to wait till next time to try the caviar, beef tartare and smoked salmon until next time I suppose. We each got Ombrelle de Papier as our tea option, which was nice and mild. I probably would've went with a stronger black tea so I could make milk tea (my fave) next time, but the white tea was a nice change of pace to my comfort zone. Such nice ambiance and service, I even got to take home some of the leftovers since there were so many treats on the trays.
Be the first to Reply"Afternoon Tea" at the Baccarat Hotel is a royal experience
"Afternoon Tea" at the Baccarat Hotel is a royal experience like none other. It honors the history of Baccarat crystals and its service to royal households over time. It uniquely celebrates historical personalities that have been in association with the brand itself. The "Prince of Wales" selection honors Edward Albert Christian George Andrew Patrick David. He became the "Prince of Wales" at the age of sixteen and was internationally known for his affair with American Wallis Simpson. His most prominent possession from the Baccarat collection was an art deco glassware set known as "Pour Le Yacht". The "Prince of Wales" package includes an assortment of teas with both sweet and savory delights. How was it?: AMAZING! We each had the option of ordering our own tea, and taste testing each of them. My favorite of the four was the "Ombrelle de Papier", a floral white tea blended with little to no sweetness added. Our food tower included chicken liver pate, maine lobster with caviar, miniature strawberry new york cheesecake, and so much more I enjoyed every minute of the experience and would recommend the splurge to anyone

I wish I had a picture or two but I was honestly completely in the moment. We had stumbled upon this place in route to meet up with some friends.. and we got a seat at the bar.. and lemme tell ya. The vibe is unmatched. It felt so comfortable in there, such amazing ambiance.. I just felt great being in there. I got vodka club soda and it hit so much harder and better than any other one I've ever had. The lights were low, the place was buzzing but not loud. Just a once in a lifetime place to come to and sit there with your date and enjoy the space, the drinks, and the surroundings. The bartender was also incredible, chatty guy but not too chatty! I loved it!
Be the first to ReplyWow! What a perfect spot for tea.
We went for our holiday tea in early December. I had read good things and had high expectations and I have to say they did not disappoint. Everything was perfect. The only thing that would have been nice that I would have expected at such an upscale tea spot is if they had gone around offering a refill of hot water. Otherwise the place was perfection. The food was delightful and delicious. I strongly recommend it if you are looking for a special occasion tea done right.

We arrived 30 minutes early; bar was not open yet, so could not have a drink. Hostess was very dry and not creative. It took us over 4 minutes of back-and-forth (I almost canceled the reservation) because she just suggested standing in lobby to wait for 30 minutes. She the agreed, at our suggestion, to sit us at a low-top table so we could enjoy a cocktail and then move us to a high-top for lunch. Not pleasant at all. Once seated - all good. Service was excellent at both low-top for drinks (great martinis!) and at high-top for lunch. Loved the Pear Burrata appetizer and enjoyed our burger and chicken sandwich. Great wine choices too. Thanks for a lovely afternoon... once we made it past the hostess.

Beautiful ambience, came here only for drinks but the place is very well decorated. The waiters offered great service. They also offer afternoon tea at this place which I have to come back to try.

My wife and I went to the Grand Salon for High Tea on Saturday afternoon. We arrived a few minutes late but waited 10 mins for our table. We also saw others arrive after us (parties of two) and get seated before us.Once seated, it took another 10 mins for our server to attend to us and we promptly ordered. The Salon was busy as expected but it took 20 mins for our food to arrive. When the tea didn't arrive a few mins afterwards, we alerted our server and it was clear they forgot the tea order. Keep in mind every order at High Tea requires a choice of tea/beverage.When the tea did arrive, it arrived in small pots compared to every other table because they had run out. This wasn't a big deal.Whilst most of the sandwiches were good, some were stale. When we asked for left over pastries to be packed away to take home, we were horrified to see how they had packed the sweets. A complete mess and done so without any care. Overall, the service is extremely poor. My wife and I reside in NYC but come from Europe where the standard is just a different level. At the price point (60% more than Tea at the Ritz London which is the gold standard), we expected more. Will not be returning.

Came here for Valentine's Day because it's been on my list & been waiting for a special occasion because the price is always the same no matter what day/holiday you go. & the grand salon did not disappoint. From the moment you walk in you feel luxurious & the decor, & ofc the baccarat aroma in the air is everything. The grand salon was by far the best afternoon tea I've been too & I've been to them all. (The plaza now being my second best) You get what you pay for. The high tea aka the prince of wales afternoon tea is $140pp & it's worth it. Let me say this, you aren't getting cucumber sandwiches! & the tea pot itself you'll get about 10 cups of tea. I had the queens guard tea which was a mix of rose & lavender & you didn't need sugar to drink it, it was so yummy! I definitely will be back. 10/10

The restaurant located inside the Baccarat Hotel was an exceptional experience. It was elegant and upscale, with beautiful chandeliers and a sleek, modern design. The service was impeccable - the waitstaff were attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. The food itself was absolutely delicious. I particularly enjoyed the seared foie gras and the truffle risotto. The portion sizes were perfect and the flavors were expertly balanced. The wine list was also impressive, with a great selection of bottles to complement the food. The luxurious atmosphere make it a truly unforgettable dining experience.

Loved the vibe and decor! It's the perfect place to dine and/or hang out for drinks as they have a great bar. The drinks are great and so is the food. Great service and great crowd. On the pricey side but we'll worth it if you are looking for good service surround a great ambiance. Must see!

Shocked that at the time of my review the Baccarat has only 3.5 stars. This was recommended by a girlfriend and I am so glad that we went for cocktails! What a wonderful atmosphere, attentive, not overbearing services, and excellent-perfectly portioned and mixed, cocktails. Yes, it's fancy. Yes, you might wait in a short line. Yes, it is not your $18 standard NYC cocktail pricing. But also yes? No one standing behind you, hovering. No shouting to the person next to you. The vibe is perfect. Highly recommend.(note: we had an early dinner before this and waited about 20 minutes at 7:30 p.m. or so and only had some drinks and did not eat there)
Be the first to ReplyWe came for afternoon tea and were disappointed.
We paid 140 each for mediocre bites and tea that wasn't very flavorful. For the price we expected better. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this spot as it was way overpriced. The service was good they were friendly but the actual food and tea were not.
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful spot, but unfortunately not worth the price.
The service we received was disappointing for the amount spent.I've been to afternoon tea at other places/London for less than $100 and a much better experience. The bites were tiny and just okay?? We decided to try the afternoon tea experience for a friends 30th birthday. We had a pretty large group and got the Prince of Wales (non veg and veg option) which was about 140$ per person, but because of the large reservation we were required to spend additional to meet a minimum requirement. Honestly, we were fine with this because it was the one time we could really dress up and be bougie. but -- Service was non existent it seemed. I'm not sure why they ignored our table since the rest of the place was not busy. Not to mention we had already prepaid for the tea/ had a card on file and they were rude and acted as if we were gonna run out on them without paying?? Come on...Anyways, pass on this spot. There are plenty of better experiences for 1/4th of the price
Be the first to ReplyMy daughter's birthday gift was an Afternoon Tea experience.
She had chosen this Grand Salon based on the very good reviews. The description of the served items and the attached name of the "Two Michelin-starred Culinary Director Gabriel Kreuther" sounded very promising. However, in reality the experience was quite different: all the savory items supposedly using the fashionable ingredients like wagyu steak or caviar intended to give a glamorous appeal to a $140 menu (or to inflate the price) were so bland and uneventful; the pastries served on the gluten free option were simply mediocre. I couldn't believe what was served in the city with such a rich tradition of a great cuisine. The regular menu pastries were not so much better. And yes, I had something to compare with: the Ritz Hotel in London for a half price serves the outstanding menu and a extraordinary experience. I would not waste money on the afternoon tea at this restaurant. Hopefully the other places in New York serve the real Afternoon Tea.
Be the first to ReplyIt was OK.
Not that great. Ordered a cake into tea's. Bill was over $100. Cake was OK. Not the best tasting cake I've ever had. It was a good one time experience. But don't think I would go there again.

Love this place at Christmas for a fun pop-in before dinner or a show! But sure to get the tower with the mini grilled cheese!

Heard prices have gone up quite a bit since then. Classic afternoon tea service in a luxurious setting. Reservations are needed for Afternoon Tea, offered daily 12-4pm.Don't expect the food in the Afternoon Tea to blow you away with creativity and presentation. But you will pay a premium to have it in an expensive setting. -served on baccarat crystals. -relatively sparse seating (NYC premium real estate!) helps keep the place pretty quiet.-velvet seating, -22' tall ceilings -big crystal chandeliers. We stay 2 hours for our afternoon tea and never felt rushed.Brunch options available. Again, paying a premium to eat in this setting. We ordered 5 starters and a main to fulfill the minimum they gave for our reservation for 6 people. Supplemented our afternoon tea nicely. Spent $1000+ for 6 people....splurge status! If you want to go to a place that is the pinnacle of elegance you have come to the right place. My partner and I went here for drinks after visiting the Moma and we were in Aw. The entire hotel is breathtaking. Not to mention the staff is very professional, yet fun and friendly. The drinks were creative and delicious. I would come here again for drinks or maybe more.

Grand Salon in the Baccarat Hotel is the perfect spot for a refined dinner with great cocktails, amazing champagne and an extensive wine list. Whether you are eating caviar and foie gras or a chicken sandwich and French fries there is no place better.

Crystals and chandeliers every where. Perfect ambiance. Pricey of course but everything I had was totally delicious. Can't wait to come again.
