Fantastic Vegan Food
I was gifted a voucher for the vegan seven course menu with a glass of wine and had the best time. The food was delicious, really flavourful. Firstly, we were offered complimentary canapes, which had a wonderful parsnip puree that was very tasty. These were followed by warm bread and olive oil, which was also complimentary. The seven course menu consisted of light, small dishes and by the end of it, we were pleasantly full and not uncomfortably so. The courgette flower, green tomato chutney and Daiquiri courses were particular favourites. The staff were so polite, the service was second to none and the restaurant itself was lovely. What was also nice, was that we did not feel rushed at any stage and were able to stay as long as we liked, even after we'd finished eating. There was also no pressure to pay for any additional extras and no issue with our just drinking water after our glass of wine, which was included in the voucher. A service charge of 14.5% was added to the bill, which we were happy to pay as we'd had such a lovely time. I would absolutely recommend for anybody thinking of visiting.
Be the first to ReplyPretentious expensive poor food
I found the waiters description of the food to be so pretentious that I really had a hard time understanding exactly what the food would be like. The food was of a poor quality either no taste or overly flavoured with unpleasant textures. The duck I had was tough and very hard to cut. We had been given a 3 course gift voucher from a relative. We ask to pay ยฃ40 to upgrade to the 4 course set menu. This was refused. So we ended up paying ยฃ66 on top of our gift vouchers. Which included ยฃ5 for a glass of still water and ยฃ20 service charge. The rest consisted of 2 small glasses of wine and 2 coffees. We got the impression that customers with gift vouchers were somehow second class, even though the amount paid was the full price of the set menu. Also, that they were sold with intention of getting dinners to spend as much as possible on extras. I am sure the relative who bought the gift would be upset if she realised what had happened. When the staff moved away from pretentious scripts about the food and were just themselves they were nice and the service was good. Also the building itself was nice

Went for the a la carte menu. The crab ravioli was superb followed by by the venison dish cooked to perfection. Canโt wait to go back
Be the first to ReplyTruly Excellent
We visited Galvin this week and we were blown away not only by the food, but the ambience and the staff. We had a seven course tasting menu which was superlative in certain courses and overall excellent; the flavour combinations and the presentation were of the finest quality. In comparison to some of their peers we have eaten in we would put Galvin in the upper echelon without question. We were seated at the perfect table for a quiet dinner for two, but not out of the way or ignored by staff. Indeed, we had excellent service from Arnaud, stepping in as a sommelier and guiding us to some very interesting wine choices, given his more elevated position he made us feel we were his focus every time he came to the table, very impressive. The particular attention paid by the section manager, superb, and a truly excellent young waitress, who we understood was on a development curve that evening was a perfect balance of friendly engagement and attention to detail. I must highlight her service, I am so sorry that I can't remember her name, but she was so engaging, could answer all of our questions and was simply lovely for someone early in a career in such a restaurant. Our experience from booking with a small hiccup, trying to provide our card details to secure the reservation, through to paying the bill could not have been better. A sense of caring and valuing you as an individual customer shone through and we will certainly be returning when we are next able to visit that area of London. Reply Forward
Be the first to ReplyNot as good as it was...
Disappointing lunch, food undercooked, service stiff and place feels tired, not good value, even with the lunch specials
Be the first to ReplyA fantastic lunch experience
Had a fantastic lunch 25th February 2024. We each went for the three course lunch with carreffe of wine fir ยฃ59. Great value at a Michelin star restaurant. The venue and ambience is wonderful. Shout out to all the staff, especially Gabriel the sommelier.
Be the first to ReplySheer bliss
Sheer bliss. I recommend that visitors choose the 7 Course Tasting Menu and add the extra option of "selected Sommelier wine pairing". The wines were, each and every one of them, excellent. The food was outstanding but the occasion was given added lustre by Gabriel, our Sommelier. He was superbly informed and knowledgeable, charming and articulate. Our Sardinian-accented server (didn't catch her name) was also delightful, warmly cheerful, and attentive. Other servers and senior officers were also highly professional and pleasant. I won't go through each of the courses: they are available online. Suffice to say that each and every one of them was top class.
Be the first to ReplyWorth kicking the sh@t out of your wallet I promise!
An amazing experience. From the moment you arrive and they take your coats at the desk, you are made to feel special. The food is amazing, the service is the best youโll ever experience. It is a little on the expensive side ( the cheese board was probably not quite worth the money- nice but very pricey). So my advice would be to know your wallet is going to take a good hiding but go with it as it is worth it. Ps- the semelier is very good and the wine was lovely.
Be the first to ReplyA great experience but very pricey
The food was great. The service was immaculate. We choose a flight of wine to go with the menu. I did feel the tables were rather close together. The only down side was that it was incredibly expensive- and we have had better for less expensive.
Be the first to ReplyJust perfect as always.
Three out of the four of us were celebrating birthdays and this being one of our favourite restaurants in London, we used the vouchers we bought last year in order to celebrate. All of the dishes from the Menu du Chef were exquisite. We were really spoiled by the staff. We started with a glass of champagne on the house and of course little treats afterwards not just for the birthday people but also for myself (I wasnโt celebrating a birthday) but without the candle. Thoroughly enjoyed it and we shall be returning.

It was my beautiful Mums 70th Birthday yesterday, I took her to Galvin La Chapelle for lunch. I had a voucher for an a La carte lunch experience It was the most wonderful experience from start to finish, the food was outstanding and she was treated like a star. Every member of staff there made us feel welcome and were attentive and made us smile. The waiting staff were super and made my Mum feel very special, we even did a little duet singing her happy Birthday. We had: Dorset crab raviolo, peas, ricotta, dashi consommรฉ Cured salmon, smoked eel, green apple, Oscietra caviar Herdwick lamb shank Cantabrico anchovy, turnip top, monk's beard Baba au rum, Piment dโEspelette Chantilly, blood orange Along with the most wonderful bread butter, and some beautiful little Petit fours all washed down with a little champers. If you ever get the chance please go. I will most definitely be back. Thank you for the most wonderful experience.
Be the first to ReplyIncredible experience.
This restaurant is OUTSTANDING. There food is up there with the absolute best. Their wine and sommelier was incredible. Terry our main waitress for the night was friendly, fun and incredibly professional- what a legend. Weโll be back.
Be the first to ReplyUnhelpful, unaccommodating, unclean and unkind
Have eaten here before and found a hair in my food. They dealt with it at the time but wasnโt great. During lockdown we tried to order a Mothers Day delivery and they were so rude and unhelpful with our allergies, which incidentally wasnโt an issue when we had dined with them previously. The worst was yet to come sadly. As a surprise for a big significant birthday, a relative booked to take me to this restaurant. On the morning of the booking we called as soon as they opened at 9am as we had had an emergency, and needed to see if we could put the booking back a short while. They moved the booking slightly and we set about making sure we arrived on time. We arrived, but got very lost as there has been a lot of building work going on and the area looked totally different to previously. We called and asked for directions. The staff were so unhelpful and kept sending us in circles, and ended the call a couple of times without any warning, and we were told just use Google maps. (This wasnโt an option -no internet signal). We finally found a security guard and he kindly showed us the way. We arrived 45mins late thanks to the unhelpful staff, and their incorrect directions, and then putting the phone down a number of times, to be told by the manager that all we could have was the A La Carte menu, and not the 5 course tasting menu that had been preordered that fitted our various allergies and dietary requirements. After all the issues, we decided to leave- customer service is definitively not a strong point, especially on a big birthday and when a 78yr old had made the effort to book this and be made to walk around in circles and then left without a lunch booking for such a special occasion. Needless to say, the customer service and cleanliness are something to be desired, and itโs clearly all about the ยฃยฃยฃ. Certainly wonโt ever go back and wouldnโt dream of recommending this horrid place. What a disappointment for all, or perhaps a saving grace! The actual chapel is beautiful, but sadly thatโs the only positive!
Be the first to ReplyStunning in all respects.
La Chapelle is Michelin 1 star, so you would expect is to be close to perfection. We had dinner on Valentine's Day and it 100% meets this criteria. It's the perfect โromanticโ location/building, the food is both clever and excellent and the service exactly right. Certainly it's expensive, but it costs to provide this level of cuisine and service. On Valentine's Day in previous years we been to some of our other favourite restaurants. Unfortunately we're been disappointed โ they increase the number of tables, provide sub standard food and poor service. La Chapelle does none of these things โ service is exactly as normal, food as good as normal, and the table layout appropriate to an up market restaurant. Just simply โstunningโ
Be the first to ReplyExcellent food and service and for entertaining guests
Had an excellent taster menu diner with business guests from overseas. Have been with friends and also with wife for romantic dinner and works everyone. The food and wine accompany were spot on, interesting menu with good variation. Service faultless with very good vibe. Would strongly recommend for any occasion.
Be the first to ReplyExquisite lunch in an exquisite "star" setting
The atmosphere is wonderful and the service is very good. The restaurant has an interesting and very old interior with like 20 meters to the roof, also rather spacious. The food is delicious and cooked with care. I can recommend the barbecued Cornish Cod. Also the Galvin Champagne was wonderful.

Running out of superlatives to describe how much we adore this establishment. Our 7th visit and it never fails to impress. The decor, ambiance, service and food are all exemplary. We had the 7 course Menu Gourmand with wine paring. Every course was outstanding. But wife's favourite was the Landes foie gras and mine was the Cumbrian beef fillet. Huge thank you to all the staff, but special mention to Juan, Alex, Alexander and the maitre d', Franco. If you have a special occasion or fancy treating yourself to a 5 star experience, do not hesitate to book this wonderful restaurant. You won't be disappointed! Colin & Maxine Jones
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful restaurant
The restaurant is very beautiful, spacious and elegant. Good range of food on the menu, and they were happy to adapt the dish if you dont like or have allergy to a food, which meant no dish was off limit. Food quality excellent, flavours amazing. We didnt feel rushed and food was quickly served, not ling wait between courses. Will definitely return
Be the first to ReplyLacklustre
We were looking forward to our visit but left disappointed. The service appeared disinterested and it was difficult to get anyones attention. Wine arrived after first course was on the table. Call me old fashioned but thatโs not acceptable. Sadly the food was underwhelming. Flavours did not pack a punch. Nettle dressing with my starter tasted of โฆ. nothing other than vinegar. I think itโs natural home would be as a salad dressing. Main course was Under warm, although chicken was choice and tender. Tarte tatin pastry just under cooked. Underwhelming and expensive for the paucity of service and unremarkable food.

Everything was great at this restaurant. Service was wonderful, food was very tasty and the wine was beautiful. All in all a great couple of hours and we will definitely return.

We chose to celebrate our wedding anniversary with a precious aunt at La Chappelle. The whole experience was delightful. The service was friendly, respectful and altogether impeccable. The food was amazing. I chose the crab lasagne, followed by the coffee and lemon risotto. The favours were superb. My husband and I are still discussing the wonderful time we had and we canโt wait to return.

The chef has a lot of work to do on the food. I will recommend City Social or Park Chinois. Disappointed with the food as we did look forward to it. Service the gentleman that looked after us was really good. I donโt mind if the chef contact me as I have a lot of points to cover that might help him in the future
Be the first to Replyan overall great evening
If you want to eat high class in a special ambience with a superfriendly and well experienced staff (WITHOUT the usual โschi schi scha schaโ that puts me off from a lot of Michelin*-places), don`t hesitate to book a table in this former gymnasium for girls, (but built as a church in 1890)
Be the first to ReplyAmbience of location was great
We were there for dinner and ordered all 4 starters and 4 main courses to share among the 5 of us . Good food and overall good friendly service . Worth a visit .
