Always good !
We dine here every visit to Vero Beach beachside - we have patronized Francesca’s since he open up. Delicious food cooked fresh to order - never fails to disappoint. PLEASE BRING BACK THE ARUGULA & PROSCIUTTO PIE !!!
Be the first to ReplyOnly eat here if you eat outside.staff difficult
Actually this is not a restaurant. It is a bus depot with 5 tables and a lovely outdoor patio. You should eat here if you only eat outside as the inside is not inviting. Had an mis -understanding with the hostess and was “encouraged “ to eat inside as it was the only seating available. Looking around we realized why no one was eating inside….this should be made aware to all dinner’s guests….it’s not an inviting option. The food may be good( didn’t find out as we were not allowed to eat outside) and inside is really grim!
Be the first to ReplyTerrible Experience
Disaster. Hard to tell what was worse: the chef screaming F bombs in the kitchen at other employees, the poor service, or the quality of the pasta that was somewhere between Chef Boyardee and school cafeteria. Needless to say we will never return.
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing
A disappointing experience. I made a reservation using Opentable. After checking a few times I found a table “available”at 2:45 for a late lunch. When we arrived we were ushered to the worst table in the house in the farthest back corner of the restaurant located across from the door to the kitchen. There was no one else at any table in the restaurant. I assumed we must have been lucky to get the table and the place would fill up soon. The food was generally mediocre. One person enjoyed his meal, two of us said our meals were only okay and one meal was practically inedible. The “bad” meal was veal parmigiana which was tough and unappetizing . We told the waitress the meat was tough and she went into the kitchen and came back to tell us the chef said it must have a “nerve” running through it. At that point, we assumed he was going to give us another meal but it never came out. By the time three of us were done eating my husband said he had lost his appetite looking for an edible corner of the veal. We were done and asked for the check. There was no compensation for the meal. We paid our bill in full and left with a bad taste in our mouth. When we left the restaurant only one other table indoors had two people at it and a few of the outdoor tables had guests. I would not eat there again and couldn't recommend it to anyone.
Be the first to ReplyOwner/chef has a lot to learn about customer service
Disappointing. As Vero Beach residents, we like to support local businesses. Unfortunately, the owner/chef has a lot to learn about customer service. Dined there tonight after a pleasant experience a week ago. Asked for chicken dish to be made with chicken breast versus thigh. Last week, it was no problem at all. Today, we ordered it with chicken breast and, when it came out with thighs, we asked that it be prepared as requested — assuming it was an oversight. Instead, the waitress returned annd explained that the owner/chef would not remake it with him saying “that’s the way it comes” and he didn’t really care that the simple adjustment was made a week ago. Unfortunately, for the prices being charged, that level of inflexibility and poor customer service have just lost Francesca’s a customer for life.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food and service!
My wife and I had a great meal and service experience. I was hesitant after some of the recent Trip Advisor reviews, but the Open Table reviews were quite positive and far more indicative of our experience. We had the Veal Parm and Chicken Parm, with salads to start and a great cheesecake to finish. The wait staff was very attentive and welcoming. The menu variety is great, and the pricing is more than fair for the quality. I can’t wait to come back and try other things on the menu!
Be the first to ReplyHorrible experience
I made a reservation through open table. Was never asked about table desires. When we arrived we were directed to a tiny table 4 ft from the receptionist and across from the front door. A horrible location to eat dinner. No other options were available even though there were several open tables. I was told they were reserved. I had a reservation also! I was offered a table in the same entryway but I’d have to leave in 45 minutes. Even though I received a Christmas gift certificate I will never go to this restaurant and I will highly recommend others do not also. You pride yourself as a family owned restaurant. You need to fix your treatment of your customers.
Be the first to ReplyGrim and Unpleasant
Last time I stopped for an early dinner, I was ushered to the worst table in the house - and it was pretty bad - even though I was the only customer. While I was eating, a young couple came in, were ALSO seated horribly, and protested - "But there's no one else in here!". They got a better table, but stood up and left after a few seconds - offended, I suppose. I finished my meal; the restaurant was still empty. What's the point of alienating your customers for nothing? Food is so-so in general. They do have nice pizza, and a great terrace for outside dining.
Be the first to ReplyNot friendly!!!
Went at 410pm weekday , one couple seated indoors and 2 tables (taken) outdoors, I was alone and asked to be outdoors and was told no tables available and hostess pointed to a table indoors and said “this is only table available “. I said no thank you and left found hostess to be Very rude, and can’t believe they would turn away business!
Be the first to ReplyNo for us
We have supported this restaurant but lately find the service and quality of food disappointing. For the prices they charge and no take out options, this is no longer an option for us.
Be the first to ReplyAuthentic Italian
For our anniversary, we always choose a new restaurant. My husband chose Francesca’s. We were not disappointed. We started with the cheesy sticks. They were delicious. I ordered the Pollo Al Marsala. The chicken was juicy and the sauce perfect. My husband ordered the eggplant with spaghetti. He said it was authentic Italian food and reminded him of his Mother’s. Our server was efficient. The only complaint is that they do not have takeout. I would have loved to have tried their pizza.
Be the first to ReplyGood meal
The inside eating area is small, but they do a good job of space utilization with the table set up. I would definitely have a reservation. They do have an outside eating area as well. The service started out good, however by the end we had to ask for more water and he seemed to just disappear. We started with the calamari which was very good. It had a very light batter and came with a side of marina sauce. I got the chicken parmesan and my wife got the eggplant parmesan. Both came a side of pasta and we added a house salad ($4). Everything was cooked and seasoned just right. The sauce was not heavy, but added just the right flavor to the meal.
Be the first to ReplyNot all home made
When they say all home made ingredients I assume the pasta was home made, it was not. I order spaghetti with marina sauce with sausage and it was on scale with hospital food, and it was way over price for store bought pasta. The sausage was taken from the pizza station, slice thin, I was expecting a sausage that was whole. My wife order the chicken masala with penne and it was very greasy. needles to say we did not finish the meals. The service was good but the atmosphere was like sitting in a parking lot. We were on vacation in vero beach and plan on going back the area just not this restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyNot worth visiting this place
Quite a disappointment. Normally we are attracted by place that claimed that it is home made. This basic minimum and pricy for what you got. My spaghetti carbonara were served almost cold. Not worth stopping there. The only good news was our Belgium waiter, he tried his best.
Be the first to ReplyTerrible Customer Service
Little Italian restaurant in Vero Beach, Florida. Called to see if we could make a reservation. Told they only take reservations after 7:00. Told not too busy. Got there. Checked in with hostess and she assured us we would be next. Waited outside in chilly 63 degree weather for 30 minutes. One couple walked in and got seated. I went in and asked if there was a table. I was told one would be available shortly. Another couple went in and got seated. Husband went in and asked why we were not seated in front the the other two couples. We were told they had reservations. Lie #1 They only take reservations after 7:00. It was 6:00. I will never be back to this restaurant, which is too bad because the food and the waiter were good. The experience made what should have been a nice dinner out, into a horrible experience. If you do go, stand right near the hostess so she can see that you are waiting, and check in with her often.
Be the first to ReplyComplete Disappointment and Owner was Unnecessarily Rude!
Unbelievable. We were charged a "split charge" after ordering one appetizer to share, me another appetizer and my husband pasta for a late night dinner. Because my husband and I shared the appetizer and I had a small plate of pasta on my appetizer plate, a split charge was added. No extra plate or extra portion was requested or provided. When I spoke with the owner about it and explained this was our first and last visit when he wouldn't be reasonable about the charge, he said "good, I hope you don't come back". Wow! This visit was late on a Thursday night and they weren't busy. There was no reason to be so rude and unbending to first time customers and locals. The food had potential but did not match the description or expectations from the menu. Our organic vegetable appetizer was mushrooms, oily peppers and undercooked onions. We had to ask and received a small plate of bread to sop up the oil and only ate a few of the crunchy onions. The calamari was supposed to have peppers but was only fried calamari with some olives and marinara sauce. The arugula pesto pasta was plated poorly and tasted mediocre with no visible cheese on top and the roasted tomatoes sat in a pool of oil underneath the pasta as opposed to sitting on top. Tiramisu was tasty but only a small 2-inch slice for $9, barely enough to satisfy two people sharing. Oh, did I say sharing? Maybe that should have been an extra extra split charge too? This place is well positioned on the beach by the hotels. The owner must be accustomed to tourists staying at the hotels for one time dinners because his unhospitable customer service and demeanor does not represent many of the Italian restaurants we attended in Italy or in local restaurants that have stood the test of time. If you want to fell unwelcome or charged for having your fork wander over to your husband's plate, go here. If not, there are plenty of other Italian restaurants in town that will satisfy your craving.
Be the first to ReplyNEVER AGAIN, should not even be rated on the vero beach restaurant list
They have no clue what VEAL is!!? Tough mystery meat, charged $25 for veal parm vs $20 for chicken parm Figured the higher price meant real veal, fooled me! Carbonara over cooked and not properly seasoned The reason for the one star, calamari was pretty good Never return PS side salad $4 up charge, and overloaded with a poor bottled balsamic vinegar They seem to be a take out pizza store, should stick to that, but then again I don’t know if they have good pizza!
Be the first to ReplyAmazingly bad food
The only thing good about this restaurant was the wine. My wife and I ordered calamari and it was under cooked. The salad wasn't fit for a rabbit. It was hard yellow and white core of Romain. The Lasagna had enough grease in the bottom of the bowl (from the cheap hamburger) to re-float the 1715 fleet. The bread was possibly worth of a food kitchen. We though about speaking to the owner (basically a line cook) but he was already in a foul mood. The table were too small and the atmosphere wasn't even as nice as a sub shop. We'll never go again.
Be the first to ReplyNothing Special
Four of us decided to try Francesca's to see how it compares with other great Italian restaurants we frequent in Vero Beach. We each got something different from the menu to try: Chicken Parmesan, Eggplant Parmesan, Pollo Marsala, and a Squash Ravioli. Two of the selections were VG, the eggplant and the ravioli but the chicken dishes were not so good. I was brought additional sauce for my eggplant, however, there was an upcharge of $1.50. The Chicken Parmesan was very tough, dry and extremely difficult to cut. While the wait staff was attentive, when it was brought to her attention she just shrugged. She did not offer to substitute the dish nor offer any sort of apology. The other chicken dish was spongy in texture and easily broke apart. It seemed to have been marinated for some time which caused the sponginess. One chicken dish was barely touched and the other had several forkfuls eaten. The restaurant is casual and very small and has about 10 tables. We had reservations and arrived on a rainy evening with only a few patrons. If you order other than the chicken dishes, you will likely be happy with your selection. Needless to say, we have chosen to not return.
Be the first to ReplyNice Italian restaurant
We stopped there for pizza and appetizers with some wine . Our waiter was young and very attentive . Great wine and we had the vegetable pizza . The capresse salad was delicious ! Definitely a nice place to go
Be the first to ReplyGreat food - better service
The food was fantastic and the service was even better. It started with a friendly welcome greeting at the door and ended with a genuine good bye. Tiffany provided fantastic service and suggestions throughout the meal. Nice to see someone enjoy their job. Chicken parm is an A+ and the pizza is excellent. Nothing but high marks!
Be the first to ReplyExtremly Disappointed
Given the great ratings we were extremely disappointed in Francesca's. Two of us had veal parmesan and both thought it was terrible. It was overcooked and completely dried out. We would have sent our veil back, but we had already waited for 45 minutes, and the place was overwhelmed. Two others thought their meals were good. The service was poor with staff made up of kids that had not ides of what they were doing. The atmosphere was crowded and noisy, more like a full sub shop than a restaurant. I would not go back except to pick up a sub.
Be the first to ReplyBest Pizza in Vero Beach
This is without a doubt the best pizza in Vero Beach. Quality ingredients and a very good crust. The salads are delicious too. I have eaten in several times and ordered pizza to go many many times over the last 2 years and have never been disappointed. Massimo works very hard and his staff are very professional. Great job.

We were craving Italian, and found Francesca’s. Starting with appetizers, which filled me up, we’re the meatballs and aracini. They both were outstanding.
Be the first to ReplyChristmas Eve dinner
Our kids took us out to dinner last night to Francesca’s. We started with meatballs, calamari and Ceaser’s salad. It was sooo good! The meatballs were one of the best I’ve ever had!!
For dinner hubby got the chicken Parm., I had the ravioli stuffed with butternut squash. My kids had the gnocchi and lasagna bolognese. We all tasted each other food! There was not a single bad bite! It was def the best dinner we had on this trip! For dessert we took home the cannoli rolled in pistachio nuts, a chocolate cake and tiramasu. The cake was over the top! I loved the cannoli! Tiramisu was also good!
We loved it so much that the kids want to eat there again before we leave for cold NJ!
Go there! You will not be disappointed! FYI, there is only 1 cook. The owner! All the food we ate was fresh and made from scratch!
