Rip Off
Absolutely appalling, fortunately we had been warned by a local taxi driver to be really careful when ordering food (and especially crab) at any of the restaurants along the Boat Quay. The pushy, entitled lady in charge of taking orders tried to sell one crab between the two of us that would have cost £240. She started by quoting the cost per kilo, which was nowhere near what the total cost would have been. We did have two drinks and when I came to pay, the waiter asked to take my card away to the till, obviously I did not fall for that old trick either.

Awful, pushy, aggressive and obnoxious. We were persuaded to have the Singapore Chilli Crab and at 298 SD per kilo were a little reluctant. They then told us the crab was 1.9 kilos but hey the noodles were free. While I accept that crab is expensive why would I want to pay over £330 for crab with noodles in a not particularly elegant or upmarket restaurant. Please be careful. Once we declined the deal the aggressive lady ignored us and moved on to her next victims. W

Absolute thieves. What we ordered was correctly itemised on the bill but unfortunately I didn’t realise until too late that the prices charged were pure fiction on some of the food items. A plate of breaded ribs were billed at $56/£33. Double the menu price and they did the same with a plate of noodles. $36/ £22. It was clear we wanted one portion only of each and that is what we received. In addition to these prices there is an automatic 10% service charge added plus a government 8% tax. Was the food good? No. Mediocre at best. We only stopped for two beers/coke each and snacks. Four adults, one child and a total bill of £150.

Small, tasteless portions; way too expensive with the worst service I've ever experienced!!! Fried Beans, Fried Beef pls White Rice: each small portion: over 90 Singapore Dollars!!
Be the first to ReplyHighly Overpriced and the Food Quality is far below Substandard
Extremely bad quality food for the price and the service was extremely slow. You need to beckon at them several times before they unhappily come to you.
Be the first to ReplyDon't go here, very expensive and small portions.
I should have looked up the reviews from Tripadvisor before going to Forum Seafood for dinner with family, but was too lazy. We selected one of the restaurants by the water as felt for Chinese this evening. Already several empty tables should have got alarm bells ringing.... Prices are really high, portions are really small and food did not taste much. Took like 10min for them to bring normal white rice and with size of a coffee cup... 10% service charge, for what? I would need to be very desperate to go there again. Select one of the more busy restaurants instead that are reasonable priced and have nice portion size and tasty food. Lesson learnt, always read a few reviews about the place first even if it is an ad hoc visit!
Be the first to ReplyTerrible! Worst Terrible Experience! (National Day)
My partner and I were looking for a place to eat. A lady promoter approached us mentioning 50% discount at all food. We confirmed it to her by asking why 50%, and she mentioned that it is a National day promotion. So we sat in, ordered drinks and food. We were enjoying the place because we have a nice view until we asked for the bill and surprisingly only credited 30% discount. So we called the server, complain about it maybe a mistake or something until an older lady talked to us saying it wasn't wrong and that's their National Day discount. It was just a simple fried rice, kailan and breaded shrimp for $91 after discount. The hell right. If we only knew we would have gone to a fancier place. That was a ripped off and this place CHEAT people so they can bring head counts to their restaurant. I was so pissed off. The lady promoter even hide herself so we won't see her face when we left. NEVER EVER try this place. No customer satisfaction for me and I think everybody else feel the same way in this review section.

We were offered everything you could imagine to stop here but that was the trend for the entire block. Unfortunately, as we walked around we eventually settled on this of all other places. We were given 30% off the prices and that still amounted to a large bill. We could boast about the views but any restaurant along the river would have provided the same. Service was lacking and food was just ok.

Pounced upon by the out-front people grabber whilst it was raining and against my inclinations, took a table. Service was reasonable but the food was the most overpriced mediocrity I have had in a long time. Won’t be returning, that’s for sure
Be the first to ReplyGood location, Good Prawn Dishes
I had not read the other reviews before I went and I am glad I didn’t. We chose the place on location, were offered a good deal, got a lovely table overlooking the river and ordered the prawns with broccoli which were surprisingly nice. It is a tourist restaurant but it was fine.

We were a group of four adults, visiting Singapore at the end of our Holiday in the Far East. We had been walking around in first Clarke Quay and then Boat Quay to find a restaurant with nice food and atmosphere. We entered Forum Seafood restaurant - WRONG choice. The ONLY thing nice to say about this restaurant was the location next to Singapore River. Food, “service” (there were no service) - well EVERYTHING was a disaster. In spite of terrible service and disgusting food - the prices are extremely high.
