Well, it's nearly a year since we went to FOB Kitchen for Oakland's Restaurant Week. We knew that FOB Kitchen was popular and we made sure to show up when they opened so we would be one of the first ones in. With the pre-fixe option offered with the Restaurant Week we were entertained with some nice dishes offering a good mix of edibles with varying flavors. We had the Shanghai Lumpia, their Jicama Salad, the Pork Adobo, and the Pancit Sotanghon. Our dessert was Turon, a banana lumpia and our included drinks were an iced tea and Calamansi, a citrusy juice. The service staff was great in explaining what our options were and describing the dishes when they arrived. No single dish was large but with the number of plates you share there was plenty to eat without having to waddle out. The Shanghai Lumpia was very tasty while the Pork Adobo was more protein and comforting. The Pancit was a very nice change of pace as was the Jicama Salad while the Turon was a great way to end the meal. The interior of the restaurant is basically all along one wall. When it is dark outside the interior of the place is also a bit dim. If you haven't had Filipino food, give FOB Kitchen a try.
