What a hidden gem in Roslyn off the beaten path on the water. We ordinarily do not eat Italian or German food out because we make it at home but this joint reminded me of the little local Italian Nonna & Nonno restaurants where I grew up in Brooklyn. The food was delicious and the people were fantastic. From the soups to the rice balls for appetizers and the salad and the main dishes everything was perfect and outstanding. I had the steak which was really great seasoned with salt pepper and that's it. The pastas my wife and daughters had were perfect just like we make it at home fresh from scratch. The ambience is beautiful hidden off of Main Street on the pond even during a rain & snow storm the place was wonderful. We will definitely be back soon enough making this one of our favorite places. You'd be silly not to have a meal here, and the German Hefeweizen Bier was super cold and outrageous.
Be the first to ReplyThis place is absolutely beautiful.
The view of the pond outside to the ambiance inside of the restaurant, you can't go wrong if you're looking for an upscale place to have some good food. Service was great and menu had a good selection of pastas, salads, and appetizers. The rigatoni was amazing the drinks were delicious as well. Would love to return!

The food was very good, the service was excellent and a great atmosphere. There's an outdoor area, which looks nice in the warmer weather. They are located between buildings, so you would need to park on the street.

Happy to have found a local Italian restaurant that's incredibly original. The food, service and overall atmosphere is top notch. I have the caccio e peppe and my wife had the pappardelle and bother were perfect. Perfect serving size, great price and different from what we can find locally around here. We started with a crostini with ricotta, figs, sliced almonds and spiced honey to go with our "spritzers". I was happy to tip over 22% after seeing such a manageable bill and the staff loved my Leo DiCaprio meme holiday sweater We were too full for desert but after seeing the coffee, tea and dessert menu, I'm coming back in the afternoon just for that. This place was incredible and we're definitely returning. I hope to see a Carbonara on their menu someday as I'm sure they'll knock it out of the park! I may have misnamed a few items since I'm to lazy to copy and paste from there website
Be the first to ReplyFelice is a big chain with locations throughout NYC.
This new location in Roslyn is beautiful. Situated right on the pond with outdoor seating available, it's extremely pretty. The interior is also very welcoming and well done. I really wanted to like this place but the food is just so overpriced for the quality. I got a bolognese pasta that I could definitely make at home. I will say that the service was very good with our waters constantly being topped off. However, there's too many competing Italian restaurants with better food, more options, and fairer prices. I've only been here once so I will definitely try it one more time and revisit this review.

The restaurant is cute with a nice little view if you sit by the window, that's why it's getting the 2 stars. I came for brunch randomly and was able to walk in without a reservation. I've been wanting to try this place as I live close by and have heard it's decent. I ordered the vegetarian omelette with egg whites only. The omelette that came was tiny, the egg whites were undercooked and watery, and there was no goat cheese included. I also ordered a Diet Coke without ice, it came with ice. My husband got the regular omelette and specifically asked that the eggs not come over cooked... his omelette came brown. It was also small with very little filling. We shared the ricotta crostini as an appetizer which was the only thing that was actually good. For a bill of about $80 before tip, we were extremely underwhelmed and disappointed. I didn't complain about the issues with our meals while there because once we received our food, our waitress was nowhere to be found for a good 10 minutes. She was a lovely woman but she seemed to have a difficult time understanding us at all, which likely contributed to why our order didn't come out as requested. It felt like a waste of time to try to explain that my omelette was undercooked and missing goat cheese, my Diet Coke was filled to the brim with ice when I requested none, and my husband's omelette was burnt even though we asked for it to be soft scrambled. Not to mention, the portions were tiny. If that many things were wrong with our order when the restaurant is half full on a random Sunday, I think it's best for me to just accept the situation and move on/not come back.
Be the first to ReplyTurning 40 was wonderful but most Italian places are closed
Turning 40 was wonderful but most Italian places are closed on Mondays, so I was happy to see this place was open. I got to wear my new heels I could no longer walk in (old mom here lol) :P cute place, great service, and great food. My son doesn't like birthdays so we did none of that, plus I don't need strangers singing me happy birthday or anything like that :P The views were gorgeous. Good time was had by all, except my son who was upset there weren't more ducks for him to see but not their fault lol. His pasta was delicious and definitely homemade not that he cared at 4 years old. We kept stealing it since he didn't want to eat it :P

Our waiter was super slow throughout and not friendly at all. We told the hostess that it was our daughter's birthday and when we she got dessert no one said anything to acknowledge her bday. The dessert did not come with a candle! or friendliness. Other tables around us got bread as soon as they sat down and we had to ask for bread 3 times before we got ours. The starters were delicious, but being a family of four, we each got one bite. The entrees were average . Make sure that you order lots of dishes, if you are hungry because the portions are small. The cocktails were watered down. Lots of wine options. It is a really pretty restaurant very calm and quiet. Will we return? NO Will we recommend? NO
Be the first to ReplySetting and ambiance are really the selling points.
Food is okay and service was okay. Bathroom door knob came off completely and the other bathroom was out of service. Still has a ways to go. They don't have their own parking.

Be the first to ReplyGreat decor, Good service.
Awful food. Tasteless overcooked dishes. Sad that the management or chef dont bother to check on how the food is being cooked. We are not the only ones who did not touch most of the food which was mostly overcooked and seemed like was made from a can of frozen tamatoes. This is indeed sad given the fantastic location, great decor and wonderful curteous staff. Our pastas had lumps of tamatoes and was tasteless. Our cauliflower was so overcooked it was a mush. We guessed it was the busboys who were asked to mix the dishes and send them out to accomodate more patrons. Please improve as we love the place and would want to come back.

Situated on the duck pond the view at sunset is lovely. But as soon as we walked in the fumes from the gas fireplace was overwhelming. We mentioned it to the staff but they said they didn't notice it. How can you not notice it? When a customer says they smell gas they didn't even check it out? So we rushed our order because the smell was getting me sick. Eggplant parmigiana was good. Not exceptional. The sauce a little over cooked. The salad was yummy and a substantial size. For main we had a pasta dish which was delish but tiny. I would go back and give it another try when we can eat outdoors in the spring but the gas fireplace really ruined the night. Ok so - Decor is gorgeous. Romantic. They did an awesome job decorating. The pour on the wine was very light. Place was crowded but not too loud.

The staff was welcoming & attentive. My cocktail was delicious (spicy Margarita) prosciutto and Buratta was great, fried calamari was actually real calamari and fried tender with artichoke hearts. We had the mussels which were absolutely some of the best tasting and the broth it came in was fabulous. The Lasagna was made with beshamel instead of ricotta which was nice and creamy. Finally,we enjoyed the chocolate hazelnut cake which our waiter recommended and it was a perfect ending to a wonderful meal. Go and you will definitely enjoy, but don't tell to many people, lol or we'll never get in again! it's tricky to find so keep your eyes sharp !

Although service was superb and very solicitous the food left something to be desired. The new "in" restaurant. Very upper crust and high profile crowd. Not worth the high prices unless you go to see and be seen.
Be the first to ReplyWas here with my bff on the Thursday before NYE.
.. when we finally found the restaurant , we truly appreciated its quaint location and how beautifully it was decorated for the holidays. Upon arrival the staff warm and welcoming. We arrived earlier than our reservation time and checked in with the hostess and host. Since we were about 30 minutes early, we informed them that we would be at the bar waiting for our table. While there, we ordered a lovely and reasonably priced bottle of Bordeaux, from the bar tender, a woman, who knew a thing or two about wines... At our reserved time , it seemed that they may have forgotten about us waiting for our table, bc I had to go to the hostess to remind her that we had reserved a table... she was warm, receptive and immediately sat us at our table where our bottle of wine was immediately brought for us to continue to enjoy with our dinner. We ordered a couple of appetizers.. the Crostone Ricotta and the Crostini Tuscani. For a pasta dish we ordered the Pappardelle con Salsiccia. The waitress informed us on the specials and we decided on the Lamp Chops... everything was supreme, not only in presentation and taste , but also in portion; from the Bordeaux to the Lamb Chops... just delicious.Surprisingly they did not offer tartufo, so we skipped dessert. We would have rated it with 5 stars because, both the ambiance, and food was truly excellent. However, we did not because we were surprised by the price of the Lamp Chop special.... Would have liked to have known beforehand.... The waitress could have mentioned it, not that it wasn't delicious... it was, but a heads up would have been appreciated... next time I'll ask.I look forward to going again in summer and maybe sitting out in the garden overlooking the pond...
Be the first to ReplyAmazing restaurant, service was impecable.
The stand out food options was the Ricotta, to die for and the Parpadelle. Aesthetically such a beautiful place. Right next to the lake with soft lighting and modern minimalist decor. Very beautiful walkway into restaurant. Would recommend this place with no hesitation. Go there.
Be the first to ReplyBe careful.
I got some pasta with mozzarella and the pasta was really raw and the mozzarella did not remind me of Buffalo mozzarella. It's a place I would avoid.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food.
I sold one of my old classic cars to a nice guy in Hewlett. He was so happy with his purchase, he sent me a 1st class tickets for a weekend trip to NY. I stayed in the city. He asked me what do I want to eat and of course it was Italian food and he suggested to eat here. Wow, what a great experience. Spent most of my youth in Little Italy and I certainly know excellent food. Adding to the experience was excellent service and a really nice ambiance. First of all the meal was pretty much a whole host of items I love, including 4 appetizers of fried calamari, eggplant, mussels, and artichokes. I loved the crostini with ricotta cheese and to top it off a I felt like a rib eye steak and it was cooked to perfection. My new friend and car enthusiast got the branzino fish that looked delicious too. All in all it was a great experience. I had plenty left over for my next meal. I live in a place that's known for it's old classic restaurants and I'm pretty fussy. I'm more then happy Hank suggested to go here. I know he's enthralled with the '57 MB he bought from me. I bought it in the early 70's and he appreciated that it's probably the finest one in the US. Thanks my friend for a great weekend and enjoy your new ride. Now, I bring you to NOLA.
