As a Michelin star restaurant one would expect impeccable service ! Not the case! Food was a hit no doubt about it, well balanced , textures complimented one another, and the seasoning was spot on! I see why it's a Michelin ! The device is lack of , service team was not proud of their establishment, they lacked education of the food and the flavors - maybe they never had it - so how could they speak about it? The service was a 4 in my standards, ambiance was 6 (plz do not allow under dressed to come in and wear whatever - if I came in w pajamas they would take me - which is disappointing and disrespectful to the patrons that pay high priced meals and support you; the cleanliness of bathroom 10; and the acoustics was 7 - I wasn't hearing much of white noise or other people's conversation but it did carry slightly. Location is superb!!!!

It was on my partner and I's bucket list to dine at a Michelin Star restaurant, so, while in Lisbon, why not? It's true the views are very nice and the restaurant itself has a nice ambience. We were greeted promptly by our names which was nice, and then seated. I'm not lying when I say for most of the night, we were one of three couples in the restaurant....which was super weird and uncomfortable; so service was very on-top. We ordered the Eleven meal which I believe was 10 courses. What really irked us was the bread we were served to begin the meal; the butter was so cold - completely un spreadable. Atleast have it be a little warm! The dishes got going and they were good. I have nothing else to really say about them, other than there was a lot of flavor all at once. The dishes kept coming and coming and (yes obviously we should've known) but it was just so excessive. There were 4 courses of dessert. I felt like I had to be rolled out of there. But as far as the food goes, I wish there was more explanation or context to go along with them. Shrimp paired with curry and peanut? Why? I'd like to actually know! (Not sarcasm). Some type of explanation or information would make this experience a 4 star vs 3. Now...for the inexcusable part in my opinion. As the night went on, around 9pm, a couple more people came in. One pair being a father and his young son. Dressed. In. Sweatpants. This to me really cheapened the experience. If you are going to charge hundreds of dollars for a meal, you need to hold your guests to the highest standard possible. Maybe they were trying to fill seats in a very empty restaurant, but allowing this type of dress was so inappropriate. Overall, a bit disappointed in the experience. Glad we tried it, not sure we would again.

Very disappointing! After reading reviews and dining at several Michelin star restaurants with divine degustation menus while on our Portugal trip, we were excited to have a reservation at Eleven. Ambiance was nice and we were greeted warmly. This is the last good thing I will say about the experience. We both ordered the Eleven menu which was a 6 course tasting menu with wine pairings and a few other surprise snacks along the way. While nothing was too bad, the word that I would use is mundane. Nothing stood out as special. Instead the meal just trudged along, with one uninspired dish after another. The fish dishes were just ok, and I have had better lamb in a casual tapas restaurant. Desserts were tasty but again very pedestrian. When dropping over 500 euros on a meal, you expect it to be exceptional. This was far from it. My wife and I both got to the point that we were in a hurry to finish up and leave. I'm not sure if they are just handing out Michelin stars these days, but we had a meal the night before in a taberna for a fifth of the price that we found to be vastly superior. My advice is to skip Eleven.
Be the first to ReplyWe dined at Eleven in February of 2023.
Wonderful food. Great ambience. The signed copy of Chef Joachim Koerper's cookbook (pictured) was a special treat. A majority of the staff were kind, considerate, and knowledgeable. However, there were a few staff members who were far less pleasant. As we were leaving I overheard two staff members making distasteful comments regarding other diners as well as persons in my party. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience but was ultimately disappointed in those few staff members.

This place was a fantastic restaurant, experience, ambiance, and was almost like a museum with the quality of art and pieces they had up.I am definitely going to go back. Dishes were spot on, felt great after.Michelin star deserved.
Be the first to ReplyCame here for our business lunch.
We did have reservations, so we were seated quickly. We ordered the 3 course prize fix. One chose the salmon tartar with caviar. Duck maigret and dessert. The other ordered oyster chowder. Sea breed fish and dessert. First. We had their bread service, which was excellent. Three kinds of bread. It also came with regular butter, smoked butter, and olive oil. All were good. An amuse bouch was tuna tatami and it was good. The oyster was okay. Was nothing like a chowder at all. The salmon tartar with caviar was good. The duck was okay as one piece was quite rare even though it should have been medium. Sea bream fish was good. Dessert was okay as we asked for the ice cream to be separated as one was lactose intolerant, but they did not. Service was okay
Be the first to ReplyI'm shocked myself to be giving such a low review for this
I'm shocked myself to be giving such a low review for this restaurant that is a 9-years+ Michelin star restaurant but honestly the establishment needs some serious change if it's to keep that title or have me go again. The main disappointment was that the service was just HORRIBLE. There would be times we felt neglected and there would be long delays between courses that really interrupted the flow of the evening. It was so bad that we were able to notice that our dishes slowed down so much that other tables (at least 2) that had showed up 30-45 minutes after us had caught up to our course. It was hard to even flag people down. The food was delicious but didn't have that wow factor. My partner is vegetarian and her meal was simply the same dish just substituted with a vegetarian food type so like replacing meat with soy protein or vegetables. It felt like such a cut and paste type of action that her dishes were quite underwhelming and left a lot to be desired. The restaurant does have a beautiful spacious space that overlooks the park but that's not enough to cover the underwhelming food and terrible service. It felt like they were just doing the bare minimum and riding on the success of past years and I would be honestly surprised if they keep the star with this kind of experience. For reference, we had the typical 11 experience menu.
Be the first to ReplyThis restaurant is Michelin starred.
Great experience overall. Food and service were great, but it is overpriced.
Be the first to ReplyEleven was one of the highlights of my Eurotrip this summer.
I went for a lunch, as recommended by a colleague of mine (an "economical lunch option" he said...which it is not). Everything I had was so delightful. I decided to ball out and get a full on Eleven meal. I think my favorite dish was the raw fish and beluga caviar served with pea and vanilla broth. Highly recommend if you get a chance to visit Lisbon.
Be the first to ReplyCome here for lunch if you don't have the time or bandwidth
Come here for lunch if you don't have the time or bandwidth for hours of a tasting menu. Every table in the room will have a nice park view and the service is solid. Their bread and sardine butter were really good and their foie gras gold bar portion was insanely huge, though I think it was because my husband egged them on to give us more bars! The mains were all rather disappointing, but their deconstructed Pastel de Nata dessert was quite good. For under $100 PP, if you don't booze it up, this place is a good bang for your buck for a 1 Star Michelin quick fine dining fix.
Be the first to ReplyI wanted to try a Michelin star restaurant during my trip
I wanted to try a Michelin star restaurant during my trip to Portugal. I had a big group with me, a party of 6. Unfortunately, most Michelin star restaurants only take up to four for a reservation. However, Eleven was one of the few that took up to 6! I was hesitant because of the low rating on Yelp. Due to circumstances, it was the only restaurant available for the date we wanted. Nonetheless, $158 for a Michelin star restaurant sounds like a great deal to me. I had to put down 150 Euro for my reservation and it was deducted from my final price at the end. Fast forward one month after I made the reservation, we had our dinner on a Monday night. The restaurant was half-filled. And we had a fantastic time there. I haven't had that many experiences with Michelin stars restaurants and this one definitely tops them all. When I look back on my dining experience, I usually evaluate on these couple of areas: Food, Environment (convenience of parking, noise level, decoration), Service, and Price. While different restaurants I would have different expectations for these categories, my expectation definitely impact my rating for the experience. Food (5/5): My expectation was high for a Michelin star restaurant We got the 11 elements standard course. The menu only listed 9, so I wasn't completely sure what constituted the other 2 elements. Anyways, The food was amazing! Even the bread they put on the table with the butter, I'm not a bread person, but let me tell you, I killed all the bread. I loved the scallops, that was definitely my favorite element of the meal. One of the elements was the soup. They put a lot into thinking about how the soup should absorb the flavor from the ingredient. We even had a demo on how they cook the soup. I love that little thing they do. But if you ask me if I can tell the difference on whether the soup was evaporated/ sucked by the fire like a chemistry lab exercise or just boiled, I probably couldn't tell you. Nonetheless, I liked the detail they did with innovation. The only thing I didn't like was the cheese plate, map of Portugal. But that's only 1 out of 11. Environment (5/5): The restaurant was on a hill and you could oversee the city from the restaurant. You also have a large glass to see the outside while dining in. Because we came during dinner time, it was pretty dark, we couldn't enjoy the view. They also have a parking lot for those who drive. Service (5/5): This is definitely a michelin star establishment, from the way that they explained the course and always served the ladies first. I felt like the staff were very well trained. Price (5/5): For $150, this is definitely worth it. Also, its almost impossible to get this price for this much food in United States. I would highly recommend other to come here.
Be the first to ReplyDuring my trip to Portugal I decided to this Michelin rated
During my trip to Portugal I decided to this Michelin rated restaurant for lunch. The experience was dining at its finest. With each course I receive new silverware, every dish was described to me and finishing touches were added. I started with the duck, then had the bake and finished with strawberry dessert. The portions were small but delicious and for the experience it was worth the €40
Be the first to ReplyAn amazing Michelin experience all around, highly recommend
An amazing Michelin experience all around, highly recommend this place. Eleven is a small and not very crowded restaurant sitting inside a park on top of the hill with an amazing view. The concierge at EPIC SANA recommended and having not read the Yelp rating we took him up on it. He is right about the place. Eleven's chef is also a celebrity like Thomas Keller of the French Laundry, and having been to both recently I'd say Eleven is a more intimate, original, and detail oriented experience. The bread comes with smoked liver pate; the Portuguese wines complement the tasting menu perfectly; the service staff is cordial and precise at the same time; and every dish has a bit of wow factor. They were not offended either by our request to compress the dinner experience a bit in order to make a late night business call with the US. The ability to feel relaxed in a formal setting is what made the evening so special.

Located atop the Lisbon's Amália Rodrigues Gardens, with a beautiful city view, Restaurante Eleven currently sees German born Chef Joachim Koerper celebrating fifty years of professional cooking with a legacy menu featuring his personal favorites across decades in Germany, Spain and Portugal.Boasting 1* from Michelin and a storied art collection, denizens of Lisbon's business district frequently seen partaking in lengthy lunches amidst posh environs, it was shortly after noon that that the Restaurant was ready to serve, the €54 prix-fixe to generous to pass up, though the lengthier seasonal menu is also available.Light and airy across two stories, wood with large windows looking toward the river, it was not long after seating that Bread was presented, a trio of styles each excellent on their own but better with top-tier Butter, Olive Oil and a Spread of smoked Sardines.Served as three courses sandwiched between Amuse and Mignardises, the former placing fresh Shrimp in fragrant Gazpacho, Koerper's "Gold Bar" sees silky Liver amidst Plums both natural and manipulated, the Gel intensely sweet while what appears to be a whole Fruit has Confit concealed inside.Artistic in terms of plating, Red Mullet with Peas and Saffron delicate in terms of taste as well as texture, "My Version of the Pastel de Nata" arrives vertical with all the proper elements plus delicate Coffee Mousse before ending with three treats including a memorable Orange Pate de Fruit.

Well deserved Michelin Star. Great service. Beautiful view. Excellent food and wine. We had the tasting menu. Amazing. We have been to several other Michelin Star restaurants. This was excellent. Congratulations to the chef and staff
Be the first to ReplyHoly moly this meal was intense.
Very accommodating to both my (i don't eat pig or fish.. sue me!) and my girlfriends (nearly lifelong vegetarian) dietary junk! ok now to the intense part... meal was never-ending. ok, so it ended... but took like five hours. And not because they were slow and. it because we were slow. courses kept coming at a relatively steady clip. the gold bars were mental, the wine was great and honestly everything we ate was inventive and interesting and tasty. Definitely worth scoping... don't snack beforehand silly gooses (or is it geese?)!
Be the first to ReplySo, this is what I get for not listening to Yelp and taking
So, this is what I get for not listening to Yelp and taking another site's reviews into consideration. This meal at Eleven. We went here for our wedding anniversary. We were lured -- yes lured, by the photos of gorgeous serene park views. The lone Michelin Star dining experience. Ambient lighting and the prospect of reminiscing over another year of marriage with calm soft voices over succulent seafood. We entered the dining room and thought that was all going to happen but no - nada disso aconteceu (none of it happened). First, we were seated right next to a semi private dining area taken by a group business dinner of Americans. The noise from their side was Diners, Drive-in's and Dives rather than serene tablecloth dining. The table next to us was a solo diner who spent her entire time watching Kdramas on an iPad that was in my line of sight and featured some half naked BTS wannabes. Perhaps she was some sort of royalty, but it was rather odd and sad. Maybe she did the right thing by wearing gigantic noise cancellation headphones so the Americans didn't interfere with her dining experience. If that decor was off-putting, so was the food. We ordered the Eleven Menu AND Babbette's Feast. Yes, we were warned that it was a lot of food. Our server audibly gasped in disbelief when we said we wanted it all. But we were not dissuaded. Unfortunately, we were disappointed. Course after course was just bland, either over cooked (steak) or not cooked enough (eggplant). One of the gimmicks was a hario coffee maker technique to cook soup. I started videoing it thinking that it would be done fairly quick (the other times I've seen this tableside they usually heat the liquid beforehand).Well, 37 minutes later (yes, my iPhone nearly died after that), it still was not done. The final product was mediocre broth that could have been replaced with Swanson's bone broth without any incident. The trifecta of disappointment was the service. Servers were definitely eager but interrupted at awkward times -- like when we were exchanging gifts and reading cards (and yes right in the middle of me tearing up). We told the restaurant beforehand that we were celebrating our anniversary and they even wished us so. Overall, eleven scores an 11 for memorable dining experiences. But far from that in terms of any awesomeness. Skip this Michelin star, you can get through all the others on the list in this world without feeling like you've missed out.
Be the first to ReplyMichelin got this wrong.
It should be "No Star"We looked with much anticipation toward our evening at Eleven. Sadly expectations were not met. While the "Gold Bar" foie gras was absolutely delicious with an unbelievable presentation, the rest of our evening was largely a failure. The staff did not engage and create rapport with us or other guests that we observed nearby. Their style was largely indifference. Wine pairings were acceptable but not extraordinary (one selection was clearly bad--not corked or cellar-funk--just of poor quality). Although the sommelier replaced it promptly, he asked no questions so as to assure his next choice would be better. The duck was under-cooked and tough. The lamb was also tough. After finishing the post-dessert, we sat for 20 minutes with no approach from the staff, although our wine and water were both empty. When we finally got the attention of the staff to ask for our check, it took another 10 minutes for it to arrive. Although food presentations were excellent, without great taste and great service, we are sorry we can't cheer for Eleven as we do for Alma and Feitoria, Lisbon's restaurant stars in our book.

Set vegetarian Menu terrible, insignificant salad, salty soup, hard risotto..for 75 Euros!
Be the first to ReplyEleven provided an elegant atmosphere and overall great
Eleven provided an elegant atmosphere and overall great dining experience. We were able to get a reservation for lunch a few days before (recommend trying to book in advance, particularly for dinner), and we really appreciated the venue and service at Eleven. First, the venue was filled with a number of paintings and the restaurant provided you wth a guide on the history of each painting. They rotate the paintings every few years. Second, the restaurant is well-lit with large class windows overlooking the park and monuments. The natural light really brightened the restaurant and added to the ambiance. Third, while a Michelin-recognized restaurant, the restaurant did not over-crowd the space, which helped make the experience feel more personal and intimate. Service was great as each staff member came by and explained the dish on the tasting menu. A sommelier also provided great wine recommendations and the history of each wine. The tasting menu was a modern take on many Portuguese dishes and provided us with a great sampling of seafood, meat, and vegetables. This was our best dining experience in Lisbon (and our visit included several other Michelin-recognized restaurants). We would certainly recommend and go back!
Be the first to ReplyNever again.
First time at this restaurant. Not a good experience. We sat down and immediately I was concerned when I noticed the restaurant was nearly empty. A waiter came to our table and asked us if we wanted drinks. Three of us ordered martinis. The three others wanted wine. So I asked for a wine list. 15 minutes later we finally got our martinis. They we 1/2 glass full. I had earlier asked for some advice on the wine list. The materdee said he would send the sommelier over. Another 15 minutes passed and no sommelier. Finally I asked for a waiter to help me pick a wine, which they did. And it was good. We ordered our food. Very small portions but food was good. Except I asked for medium done on my lamb chop and it came blood rate. Inedible. I waited and waited for a waiter but not a one was to be found. So I ate half and left the rest. This was a bad experience. Service not close to what you would except. I would never, ever go back. Michelin star restaurant? Not even close.
Be the first to ReplyI really never post reviews unless something goes really
I really never post reviews unless something goes really wrong. And I am going to cut them some slack since I'm on a no carb diet, and the items I ordered are not standards. I ordered a green salad (not on the menu) and it was gritty and when my friend took a bite, a glob of dirt fell onto the table. And I ordered the steak made with Kobe. It was cold, not as in "not hot", but cold, like refrigerator cold. Great flavor and sauce but cold. I don't know what to say, for the money this was not a good dinner.
