Electric Lemon New York Reviews from The Last Year
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Hudson Yards.
We took our family here to celebrated a nice weekend together and the food was wonderful. Both the duck and fish for two were unbelievable good and well prepared and presented. I recommend the octopus and beef tartare for appetizers and the dessert lemon curd and olive cake was very inventive. Service was good and ambience great. If you are just looking for a bar I also highly recommend. The bar and views from bar are stunning. Definitely a great date night or special occasion space
Me and my boyfriend order 2 glasses of Riesling Kabinett
Me and my boyfriend order 2 glasses of Riesling Kabinett wine. The price stated $19 dollars in my menu. When we got the bill it was $21 dollars a glass. We both looked at our menus, his said $21 and mine said $19. His menu was a shortened menu and mine was a full wine menu. I went to the restroom while he brought this to the manager's attention. She took the book to the back that stated $19 and did not bring it back out. When I went to check the full wine menu to show that it was $19. The price was suddenly changed to $21 dollars in the book after she took it to the back. The manager tried to lie to us and say that it was 2 different wines and that's why it cost more. The real issue, that she chose not to say was that the menu was out of date. I had no problem paying a higher price even though the mistake was COMPLETELY the restaurants fault. It was 4 bucks?! But they chose to lie and make it seem like the issue was we ordered a different, but in reality they updated their wine book with a "different wine" and price.

Amazing ! I came here for my little brothers birthday! He loves a good view and good food! This place did not disappoint. I must say you have to dress the part they will not let you just wear anything also you have to have a reservation! We went with 7 people and we had a great table, the server was attentive to our needs and the food came out in great timing ! I had the lemon pasta and oh my I was so happy with it. The prices believe it or not we're also reasonable. The rooftop area looked stunning but it was cold so we didn't go out. The bathroom was gorgeous and so clean, they had top of the line products in there as well! 10/10 overall would definitely recommend!
I loved this place.
Every dish that we got was spectacular. Octopus was my favorite. Also, the best Chardonnay that I've ever had. The views and the atmosphere were incredible, we had a really great time there. Highly recommend if you are in the area.

5 stars for the incredible hospitality provided by the host, Nikella -- truly the warmest, kindest experience I've had in the city. Will be a regular here just for Nikella.
Food is fine.
Average American and nothing great or memorable to be honest. The service we got was good, no complaints from me. The ambiance was fantastic. The location is prime Hudson yards and a great place to take out of towners for a real modern, fancy New York evening. The terrace is the best part of the restaurant with a fancy little fountain area and a great view of both Hudson yards and the Hudson river. Basically if you go to electric lemon, you should go for the vibes and location. Not the food
Brought my family here last week.
It was really great for breakfast. Excellent service, setting and food. My kids both loved the bagels and fruit. The fruit was excellent especially given it was winter! I had eggs and delicious toast. The coffee was also excellent. Would definitely recommend it.
The food was SO good.
I really can't decide which was better -- the polenta fries or the carrot banh mi. The texture of the polenta fries was perfect, and the dipping sauce it came with was tasty too. The aioli in the banh mi had incredible flavor. This meal kept me full for hours. I wasn't expecting the latte to be as good as it was -- look at the latte art! Plus, they offered coat check for our big winter coats which was a nice touch. I can tell this would be a good spot for a date night too, and plan on coming back for that.
What the heck is up with this place.
We've been living in this building for two years and NO improvement. Staff turn over is crazy - never the same person there. On a recent evening we met Billy - who we hope will redeem the place . Tonight the front desk is helmed by two delightfully blank people who were overseeing a lounge of empty tables at 5pm and when we asked if we could have a drink we were told no. "Just one and we're headed out to dinner." "No." Ugh! Has every host stand at every restaurant in NYC been taken over by mindless, thoughtless drones? The math is clear - twenty empty reserved seats, two walk ins looking for a quick drink on their way out to dinner, looks like an opportunity to a.) accommodate a couple who frequent this place and might come more often if treated well (and generate revenue from otherwise empty seats. Or b.) Exercise the power that has been vested in me - and send these two seat seekers on their way - miserable. Electric Lemon chooses b.)!!!! Awesome. 'Lemon' is the right name!
Very nice in many respects...not sure I'd go again though
This place gets pretty busy. We were here on a Thursday evening, with reservations at 5:15 (had a show at the nearby Shed at 8) and it was half full when we arrived, and packed when we left. The views here are great. It was too chilly to eat outside, but would love to do that sometime. But nonetheless, terrific views. They play them up nicely with huge windows everywhere. The menu is a bit limited for entrees, to be honest. An okay choice but not a wide variety. But everything we quite tasty. Cocktails are VERY expensive but inventive. Service was a bit slow and not the greatest. Our server was in jeans and tennis shoes. Nice guy, but I'm a little surprised they let him dress so much more casually than the stated dress code. Certainly all the diners and bar-goers we saw were in business casual or higher. In the end, this was a nice place for dinner, but I'm not clamoring to go again. Dinner for two, with 2 appetizers, 1 dessert, 2 entrees, 3 alcoholic drinks, tax & tip was right at $300. Not sure it was quite worth that.
Terrible
We had a reservation for party of nine for a birthday. When we got there, there was no reservation done. They force us to stay in any table available. we order bottles from the menu which they didn’t have. Still they charge us the higher price for the other bottle just substitute. They didn’t have salt for margaritas they wouldn’t take cash as payment outside. They wouldn’t have the proper glasses because they said it would blow with the wind.. very slow service and extremely expensive drinks. Beautiful view though. .
Great view and delicious healthy food
Great dinner in an unconventional rooftop! The view is amazing, the little pool outside outstanding with statues and plants all over. We had a grilled bass fish and raw vegetables with souces, everything delicious and healthy! Absolutely to try!
Spectacular Sunset in the City
Rooftop restaurant on the 24th floor, which sounds kind of low compared to others but the view more than makes up for it. Food was quite a bit different from the usual fusion, drinks sounded more exotic than they actually were, still passable. Highly recommend going for the spectacular sunsets.
Views-views-views
We had burger which were very good and then went outside for drinks after. You can’t eat outside so that would have been nice given that we visited mid-week, for lunch, and the place was pretty empty. The staff was very friendly and encouraged us to have drinks outside after we ate. The rooftop bar is gorgeous, and so well done, large, and the views incredible. You can see the top of The Vessel with surrounding NYC views that can’t be beat.
Avoid
We were here for breakfast after a night at the Equinox Hotel. To summarize it: we paid USD 100 for a breakfast consisting of 2 glasses of orange juice, 2 small pots of green tea, 1 chia pudding and eggs sunny side up with bacon and toast and small cup of berries. Definitely not worth the money. Service is non-existent, they let you wait 10 minutes to order and 20 minutes to bring the breakfast (juices, tea and food all together). The ambience and the attitude in the morning are that of a fitness club canteen. Just stay away.
