This is a little hole in the wall restaurant offering a wide range of food. Many items bring visions of Europe. Staff are friendly, more like family.
Be the first to ReplyI don't understand why this place has 5 stars.
My experience with this restaurant was pretty disappointing. I ordered the tri-tip with Mac and cheese. The meat was super tough and pasta was way too salty. I asked our server if I can get a softer pieces to replaced the ones I have. I was so hungry and while I was waiting, I ended up eating the Mac and cheese. He came back be brought two small pieces of meat which are equally tougher pieces. I really want to like the food but I just cant't. When our server asked how my meal, I told him the truth, I was terrible and made a condescending comments. I wasn't asking for a free meal. I just an acknowledgment and maybe they won't serve that food to any of their customers. It just a matter of time. Never again.

Oh my gosh! This place is fantastic! It was recommended by a recent guest and we decided to check it out this evening for dinner. They do take reservations, but being that it was a Wednesday, we didn't think it necessary and we were so wrong! We got there around 6PM and ended up having a thirty minute wait. They were super busy! This place is located a block away from the historic Whiskey Row and has an ample amount of seating both inside and on the outside patio. A section of the patio is covered and appears to have a view of Granite Creek that runs along the side of the restaurant. Thick plastic shades were down while we were there but it was a crispy 58 degrees outside. Thank God for the outdoor heaters and the overall coziness of the dining area. There is an extensive menu of tapas and many dinner entrees to select from. We started with an order of deep fried artichokes, which were served with a Horseradish Aioli. I thought they were okay, but couldn't really taste the artichoke. My husband devoured most of them! For our dinner, I already knew what I would be ordering (plate recommended by our guest) and somehow the three of us ordered the same dish! I had the Cilantro Chicken with Penne and my husband and friend ordered it with shrimp instead of the chicken. Let me tell you, this dish was more than amazing! It was a good size serving and was creamy, hot, and overall, perfect! We all enjoyed our choice very much. I was unable to finish my entire meal, but had it packed up to go. Dessert was not happening for me, but my dessert-loving husband ordered the cheesecake and devoured that too! Our server, Brianne, was super friendly and very outgoing. She made sure we had refills on our drinks and was very attentive the entire time, despite all the customers. We truly enjoyed our evening and will be having dinner here again! I highly recommend eating here!

Be the first to ReplyOur first time here.
My husband had the Southwest Stir Fry with grilled chicken. A very generous portion with noodles, veggies and chicken. Lots of favor. I had tapas- the olive tapenade (! Yum!), the lamb kabobs and the chicken satay. It was hard to pick out what I wanted from the wonderful menu. So I guess we will have to come again. Good service and the patio was nice. It was recommended that reservations be made. Even on a week night, it was busy after 6pm
Be the first to ReplyFunky, ambience.
Interesting menu, good cocktails. Friendly staff, make a reservation.
Be the first to ReplyVery good food and great service.
They seated us right away. Nice atmosphere. Many food choices to choose from.
Be the first to ReplyFood is just ok.
Menu is all over the place though. Service is ok. Definitely not fine dining or anything close to that but better than most in town. The prickly pear margarita is pretty good
Be the first to ReplyThe service was good.
I ordered tapas. and was disappointed with the lamb kebobs, which were three small meat balls. I think they mixed some lamb into the mix. The description did not say meat ball kabobs. It did not help that we were seated next to the door on a cold snow blown night.

Had a birthday dinner here last night and the food is just always amazing. The service was very good. If you haven't tried this place yet then you need to put it on your bucket list next time you visit Prescott. Yelp won't let me post all my pictures I took ?

I have been here several times and always had excellent tapas. The crab cakes are wonderful and many of the other items are quite tasty. Yesterday I ordered form the lunch menu. I had a mahi mahi wrap. So disappointed- the presentation was nice with a side salad. However, the wrap itself was doughy so I used a fork to eat the inside. Mahi mahi - about two bites and the rest was an overdressed filling of veggies. The onion was overpowering and made me feel as if I was eating an onion dish. I will not order this again. My friend had the chicken sherry crepe and it looked exquisite. Maybe that wrap needs to go away and I will stick to the tapas next time. They have never disappointed. Service is also very good.

Wow! Very good! Beef and bleu taco is amazeballs the dining setting is incredible. Service was outstanding. Best of all, the ambiance of this restaurant provided a comfortable dining experience. Epic restaurant--still licking my lips for any remnants of the beef and bleu taco. El Gato is THE place to eat, hands down.
Be the first to ReplyAbsolutely love the tapas menu.
The atmosphere is fantastic creekside and service is always great.
Be the first to ReplySuper friendly waitstaff and an awesome taps menu.
Fun busy atmosphere. Had paella and it was great
Be the first to ReplyFood is okay and could use some additional seasoning.
We froze to death sitting next to the entrance the night we went. Busy place with a big city feel as the door opened and closed non-stop our entire dinner. Probably a good spot for summer since it's a covered patio with a few indoor tables.
Be the first to ReplyI am surprised this place does not have 5 Star rating.
On a recent Business trip to Prescott, a co-worker recommended this place for team dinner. It's a small unassuming quaint little place. The tables were smallish and seating was tight. But the service and the food was phenomenal! So much so I went back for dinner 3 nights in a row. And every single dish I ordered was exceptional... Crab cakes, Gambas Espinaca, Escargot, Wontons, Lamb Chops, Fried Goat cheese...

When my Dad left Santa Monica for this tiny town I was a bit skeptical but then when we came to visit town and they said they had the perfect quirky and delicious spot to have a bite we were intrigued. This location immediately had my interest. Close to the river and kinda hanging over it its like an indoor outdoor treehouse situation. So cool! The back patio has been the setting of many a family gathering including my Dad's surprise 80th bday dinner and we have enjoyed so many of the items. The tapas angle of this menu has a-lot to offer nearly every type of eater. We used to eat meats and can vouch for those dishes but as we are now vegetarians we are always stunned by the amount available for us to try! Also, must point out that they have a great wine list as well. This place is a must visit if you are in Everybody's Hometown. Prescott, AZ.
Be the first to ReplyAlways great.
Mardi Gras oyster stew was deeelicious. The deserts are house made and really, really good.
