Sea food well made and the sauces accompanying are prepared to match.

Wow! Coño, this place is the joint! With a name like el Carajo did not know wha to expect. But hello wonder of wonders. I'll start with their killer wine list! All top notch. You can't go wrong here, the food, well it's Spanish and a little on the heavy side, so go a little light, and order more if you're not full. Awesome people mad ambiance. I'd go back and order a little less. But overall worth a visit. Vale!

Had a very impromptu - party of one dinner here on a very busy night! Millie (or Milly) the hosts did her very best to accommodate my walk in request to sit down for dinner. She managed to get me a nice spot at the bar area. So thankful for that! My waitress, Aniela I THINK, was so very sweet and welcoming. I ordered a couple of my fave Spanish dishes. The Garbanzo Frito was perfect! Not too oily or dry which can go either way with this dish. The fresh crumbled bacon and fresh cut red onions gave it the right amount of deliciousness! Croquetas de chorizo were perfectly fried and fresh! Crunchy & savory! Not mushy or soggy! Las Gambas al Ajillo were a tiny bit under the salt level for my taste but nothing that couldn't be overlooked to enjoy! The shrimps were nice and large plus a bargain at the price they have it listed. Finally I tried their Crema Catalan (Spaniards version of Creme Brulee but more pudding based). Oh my!!! The lemon zest was prominent and made this dessert perfection after the previous dishes I tried. I did order the Bacalao Croquetas and Caldo Gallego to go. Will update this review once I give those a go! They serve all these tapas with a side of their sourdough bread. Delish!!! Can't wait to come back, pump my gas & feast on some more Spaniard Cuisine!
Be the first to ReplyWho would have guessed some of the most delicious tapas
Who would have guessed some of the most delicious tapas would be found inside a gas station. I couldn't believe it but friends invited me and I was delightfully surprised. Love the concept of picking up wine from the gas station (great selection) and having them open it at the table. Could totally see this as a great date night local. I'm heading back soon.

Gas station and restaurant at the back side? WOW! Glad to have finally try this place. Every single plate we had was so delicious and fresh. Service was amazing and seating area were not as bad as one would think.... Listen try this place. Trust me you wont regret you did!!!!!

Great wine selection. Tapas are the best! The place is located in a gas station until you go inside.

Went to this Spanish tapas wine bar and was pleasantly overwhelmed by the plethora of wine choices and varieties. During the week my wife and I had the place pretty much to ourselves. The service was on point and helpful with suggestions we had a fish empanada as appetizer with a glass of rose, lamb chops with asparagus and Maduros. Also we tried baked trout and flan for dessert.
Be the first to ReplyThis was a great place to come right From the beach.
It was mid afternoon on a sunny Miami Sunday. No dress code except shirt and sandals. We ordered from the delicious Spaniard bakery and then decided to enjoy their authentic Spaniard cooking. The aroma was tantalizing. We were able to get a table quickly and enjoy some favorites. Ordered Tortilla Española, Gambas al ajillo, Pulpo al ajillo and Paella.. the food was exceptional and the servers were top notch. If you find yourself in the area , make sure to stop in and give them a try!
Be the first to ReplyGreat food, great wine selection.
This is Spanish comfort food. It feels like you're eating in some popular local restaurant in Spain. Other restaurants try to put a new spin on things, these guys don't. It's the kind of place that an old couple in Spain would recommend to you as the place they've been going to for years. It's a joy to eat here. The servers are super attentive and friendly. The food is great. You can grab a reasonably placed bottle of wine off the wall and they'll uncork it for $10. I first found this place about 10 years ago and keep coming back.

Great food. Best tapas in Miami. Service is always impeccable and unbelievable low prices for go wine.
Be the first to Replyexcellent food, the host is a nice lady.
Just disgusting was the waitres, who confío the order; bring the "garbanzos Fritos" late, at the end, cool, and like cocked a days before. It was something rare because this place is really good usually.

I haven't been there for a while. Last time I went it was good. Hopefully it still is. This is about the pastry counter, where nice ladies serve what used to be excellent Cuban pastries. My mom goes there to load up each time my sons and I come to town, and if she forgets, I will. But maybe we won't in the future. This week's guava pastries. With and without cheese, have to be about the worst I've ever had. The guava paste looked more like artificial red food coloring blended into what was a tasteless sugary goo. (Real guava paste is brown). The pastry dough was mush and probably undercooked. The pastries with cream cheese had hardly any cream cheese and were also tasteless. For the first time in my 64 years I didn't finish either of my guava pastries. Please El Carajo, go back to the prior pastry vendor, or find another. Do it now or lose me (and your market) forever.
Be the first to ReplyWow what a cool place being inside a gas station.
I guess that's pretty normal for Florida? The restaurant was really good. I haven't had a lot of experiences with tapas but this was probably my best experience. So good! Paella was amazing. My brother who is not a huge charcuterie person, is now a charcuterie person. Quality is amazing here. Wish I got to try the desserts. Staff was kind also. It wasn't busy when we went for lunch.

I live in Miami for over 5 years now and I don't know why it took me soooo long to check this place out. What a hidden gem!!!!!!!! We got there on a Sunday for lunch, didn't have a resy and sat down right away. The place is tiny but so cozy. Kinda dark, nice simple decor and wine bottles all over. I literally forgot it was sunny and it 100 degrees outside. I loved that you can literally look at the bottles on the wall and pick one. They all have grocery store prices but the restaurant charge +10 in each 750ml bottle. Our waitress was very attentive and sweet. We ordered the Croquetas de Jamon (which are not the best in Miami but still good), the Lobster Crema, Patatas a la Brava and the Traditional Paella - all amazing!!Nice place if you love seafood, spanish tapas, good wine and highly recommend it for a date :) Loveeeee and will be back soon for sure!

Okay, I don't like seafood, but that's okay because El Carajo had more than enough to accommodate our preferences! We ordered the albondigas (made with chorizo) and paella (with 2x chorizo, chicken, and steak). It says on the menu that its $25, but that's the price per person. The food was absolutely delicious. I loved the crispy rice from the pan and the deep fattiness of the chorizo. The restaurant was very accommodating to us. The ambiance was perfect for an intimate date night. Highly recommend!
Be the first to ReplyCame here on a Wednesday, early evening with my 1 year old.
Was seated and attended to right away. Service was friendly and food was tasty. I always get the bacon wrapped dates when I'm here along with a few other tapas, and a glass of sangria. I accidentally left my sons favorite water bottle. When I realized a few hours later, I called the store and I believe Michael answered the phone and was able to find the water bottle. He left it in the bakery for me to pick up the following day. Great customer service and great food.

Great food, tapas, service is good but could be better, annoying plece for a restaurant, just behind a gas station.
Be the first to ReplyThe Hostess here needs some serious lessons in manners.
She is rude.abrupt and lacks common basic customer skills.Never again will I attempt to home here.

Decided to have date night here and it definitely hit the spot. Don't let the tapas style fool you, you will leave full and satisfied. The location is one of the unique factors of this place, it's in a gas station. You enter and it's like any other gas station but walk a couple of steps and you have entered Spain in Miami. The food was great and tasteful. A must for me was the octopus, it was cooked to perfection. Pick the croquetas de jamón serrano they are delicious. The chorizos al vino was a different twist on sausage, but did not disappoint. What is special about this place? You are surrounded by wine. Not just Spanish wine - they have a selection of super Tuscans to riojas. The best part is that you can wander around or go into the cellar (higher end wine choices) and get to pick what wine you would want to pair with your delicious meal.

Last night on a Thursday, we had an 8 PM reservations at this restaurant to celebrate my brother's 49th birthday. We were a party of 7 people. Upon arrival we were told by the manager that a large party was sitting at our table since 4:30 PM and that they had just ordered their food; therefore, he could not ask them to leave. There were no other tables big enough to accommodate us and we waited about 15 minutes to see if he would resolve this situation quickly and get us seated. Instead he did nothing. We were very upset and left the restaurant and went to Old Lisbon, which is only a few blocks away, where we had EXCELLENT service and food. I also drove all the way from Weston to go to this restaurant which was not my choice but now I know how crappy their service is and will never go back.
