Maybe a bad night? A couple of us got the Jumbo Gulf Shrimp with stuffed crab and the others got the branzino, the shrimp was super over cooked and hard and rubbery. We informed the waiter about the shrimp and he did nothing and seemed too busy to bother with his customers. They are getting 2 stars because the rest of the food we ordered like the shrimp cocktail, wedge salad, branzino, crab fried rice, asparagus, lobster mash potato, belgian cake was good but nothing special. With customers ordering this many items and with these prices you cannot be just good, you have to be great. Food and Customer service did not hit the mark.

We had all around amazing experience mainly because of our server Miguel. He was hands down one of the best servers we have ever had. He made sure to acknowledge our young daughter and include her in the whole experience which she really enjoyed. Now let's talk about the food I've had lots of crab cakes in my time, but their crab cake was the BEST I've ever had. I cannot even find the words to describe the deliciousness of this dish! Just get it! My husband ordered the shellfish tower and raved about it. The warm goat cheese salad was also amazing. Can't forget the crème brûlée! What a fabulous meal! Check out Eddie V's and ask for Miguel. He will guarantee a wonderful experience!

This place is AMAZING!!!! We are always in search of the best happy hour hack and this place is on the top of our list. Our servers name was Crystal and she made a big impact on our dining experience and we now request her by name when we visit every Thursday. Aside from the great service, all of the appetizers are reasonably priced and delicious. Eddie V's get our Michelin Star. Ps. The live music is an added bonus too #twoacrosstown Cya there

The filet with broccolini and au gratin potatoes was one of the best meals I have ever had! The 24 karat cocktail was absolutely amazing! The butter cake was phenomenal . The ambiance was perfect. The live band was great and our server could not have provided better service. He was on top of everything and very attentive. I highly recommend this restaurant!
Be the first to ReplyYes it is amazing.
My bride and I came over after an early showing of Chicago. We order the shell fish tower, you have to (period). The tower is just delicious, Eddie V's is all about the seafood, so if you like sea food this is the best at all levels. Now, that is not to say they do not do steak, my bride did the 22oz prime with scallops (no, I did not argue, been married over 20 years, I knew the left overs were mine). It was amazing. Yes, pricey, but this is real food at a real price and worth more. I won't get into the ambiance and how awesome we were treated! I

Chilean Sea Bass, lobster smashed potatoes, crab stuffed shrimp and the lobster bisque were all incredible. Service was exactly how I remember a real restaurant providing full service. I feel like this level of service hardly exists any more. The attentiveness, and food quality say it all for me. We came on VDay and were able to enjoy a romantic dinner on the patio while there was live bustling music inside.

My husband and I went to dinner here, we were blown away by the outstanding service, romantic atmosphere, live band, and outstanding food. The restaurant is amazing, you must try the truffle Mac and cheese. Our server's name was Robert. He went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we wanted. We were thoroughly impressed by his knowledge of the menu, all of his recommendations, and overall genuine friendliness.

This review is overdue, yet I could not allow another five-start review to go unnoticed. Another visit to Eddy V's for a birthday celebration and another most excellent dinner to rave about. My husband and I absolutely love Eddy V's not only for their outstanding service but for their delicious seafood. I know, it's a steakhouse but the seabass and sablefish are to die for. We went all out and had Caesar salads and their giant crabcake to start AND their crab fried rice to add to our entrees. It was an absolutely phenomenal experience. The manager, Farzana Hussain, even came to visit our table to make sure everything was perfect. We were very pleasantly surprised that she would take time during their busy dinner hours to stop and chat. Another sign of not only awesome food but a great management team. The entire staff was so hospitable and professional, making our evening as lovely as we expected. Thank you, again, to the management team and staff for keeping up the great work.

We are at Eddie V's before going to a show at the Rady Shell which makes for an amazing evening out. We sat at the bar and had most of the apps on the happy hour menu along with martinis. Everything was delicious. The restaurant is beautiful and the service was perfect.
Be the first to ReplyEddie V's is renown for their food and beverage.
They are expensive but the food lives up to it's reputation. With that said I brought my in-laws there for dinner on a Saturday night. Even though we made our reservation several weeks in advance, we were told that there was only bar seating available which is iffy which sounded like a "line" but very possible. We were sat in a small booth...not close to accommodating 4 adults. We asked the hostess if we could move, that we were locals and return customers and that the table was not adequate...the hostess said she'd check. She came back and said there was nothing available...well after being sat , and having ordered cocktails, there were 2 large high-boys with plenty of good, comfortable seating, and with views of the ocean that opened in the bar and remained empty for most of our dinner. Our table was so small, it could not accommodate appetizers what with the linen, silverware, water and wine glasses and bread and butter. Our hostess didn't bother to audit the tables to see who were finishing dessert or paying their bill etc. There were plenty of open tables with in 10 minutes of our seating.Good service begins at the hostess desk. It is not that difficult, it just takes some training.
Be the first to ReplyFood was good but service was trash.
Was not that busy but we're still being ignored by our waiter. Staff seemed to not care at all.
Be the first to ReplyI had such an incredible experience here.
The food was amazing, I had the filet mignon, lobster mashed potatoes, truffle Mac and cheese and the sapphire drink. It was all so delicious. Our server was Terri and she was an absolute delight. She truly personalized the evening and was incredibly helpful with her recommendations and patience while we made decisions and asked questions. We sat inside and it was so cute and had live music but was not too loud. I absolutely recommend for a special evening.
Be the first to ReplyEvery time I come the waitresses are amazing.
Enjoyable vibe with live music on the weekends. Happy hour also has many delicious options, like the filet mignon sliders. I recommend the Parmesan Sole for a main dish 100%, it's absolutely amazing. The mac n cheese was a bit dry, seems like it was just noodles and breadcrumbs, but overall everything else was pleasant.
Be the first to ReplyUnfortunately, we were underwhelmed by our experience.
We enjoyed most of the food however, my son's $70 medium rare steak was RAW at the bone and they had to re-do it. The Mac and cheese was good, as was the asparagus and spinach, sole and branzino. My daughter didn't have any complaints about her chicken fingers but they appeared dry. I think our server must be new because at the end of our meal, we had to ask about my daughters dessert that came with her meal and also had to ask about my husbands "complimentary birthday dessert" which was clearly listed on the receipt. I booked Eddie V's bc I wanted my husband to be fussed over. Most of the reviews indicated that the food, service and atmosphere was excellent however, I feel that it was just ok. On the up side, we do have leftovers to eat so the $365 bill (including one alcohol drink), is spread out over another meal.

The attention to detail and exemplary customer service is what separates Eddie V from the rest. A true fine dining experience wad made possible by Martin, our server. He was attentative, helpful with making suggestions from the menu, and even topped off a fantastic dinner by bringing roses for the two most important women in my life (wife & mom). Great classy ambiance. We sat on the second floor, overlooking the dining area below. We had the shellfish platter, kung pao calamari to start. The kung pao complimented the cold seafood platter well. Would most definitely recommend ordering both. I had the ny steak medium rare paired with the lobster mashed potatoes. Wife had the Chilean sea bass paired with the garlic spinach, and my mom ordered the scallops. the portions were generous and everything we ordered was oh so tasty. Will definitely return to celebrate Birthdays and other special occasions.
Be the first to ReplyThe food and drinks were delicious.
I was surprised that the service lacked a bit but our second server definitely made up for it. The ambiance was great with live music.

Celebrated a belated Valentines Day and Birthday with friends. Live music in the bar as we waited for our table really added to the fun atmosphere. They had great signature drinks like the Red Dragon and Hope Diamond. The food was good, but what really made our night was the service! Hats off to Charlie for keeping up with our boisterous group. He added to the fun, memorable night and to top it off there were fireworks in the bay which we could see from where we were sitting. We'll definitely be back!
Be the first to ReplyConsistently amazing.
I've been here often and it never disappoints. First of all, I made a last minute reservation and to my surprise they remembered it was my anniversary (I didn't mention it) from a note from when I dined there 5 years ago! It was seriously a nice surprise. We had a little card snd rose petals on our table :) Valet parking is right up front and there is street parking and a couple parking garages as well. We dined outside and it was pleasant, there were heaters and of course the most amazing view.Everything was top notch from the ambience, service and the delicious food. We shared a wedge salad and had oysters for appetizers. Everything was great and fresh! I had the sea bass .. which was so delicious and the crispy Brussel sprouts. My date had the rib eye and it was cooked to perfection. I love this place and I highly recommend it! Oh and if you like vodka, purple, and cool looking cocktails - get the Hope Diamond cocktail. Seriously so yummy!
Be the first to ReplyGreat steakhouse.
The portions are generous. My mother-in-law ordered the tomahawk. It is big enough for three. Highly recommended.

The service was perfect, the oysters and appetizers were great, the only problem is the main dish wasn't that good. I had the salmon which was over done and then the carrots it came with were under done. My mom had the lobster bisque which she said wasn't great either. I would come back, but imagine something might have gone on in the kitchen that night.

Forget the "Gaslamp District," "Little Italy," and "Hillcrest" whilevisiting (or residing) in San Diego, and searching for a memorablerestaurant that offers great food, an impressive wine list, and,(Pay attention here) - professional attitude, service and an attention to detail that is almost impossible to find anywhere, as a result of COVID-19. Sporting a warm and sincere smile, Manager, Ryan Gomez came to ourtable to introduce himself after my wife and I were seated, and offeredhis personal attention to whatever it was that we might need while dining.Eddie, our server for the evening was a pro. He loves what he does, and it shows! We shared many stories with him, which added tothe evening. My wife ordered a filet, and I ordered the sole. Home run!And don't let me forget about the desserts that Eddie brought toour table. All we wanted was some vanilla ice cream and a few freshberries. He showed up with a bowl of fresh berries, 3 scoops ofice cream and a 'killer' sorbet.Bottom line: Make a reservation at Eddie V's on Harbor Drive inSan Diego. It's located on the west end of the old San DiegoPolice Headquarters. Everyone at Eddie V's take their work seriously, and the resultsshow it. By the way, Manager, Ryan Gomez came by our table towardsthe end of the evening to thank us, and we wound up sharingpersonal stories for ten minutes. Very cool!Make a reservation at Eddie V's in San Diego, and you willnot be disappointed.

My partner and I went to Eddie V's for a belated Valentine's Dinner in an upscale restaurant with a great atmosphere. This was my 2nd time here but the first was with a large group who were attending a convention. That was an excellent dinner with every course but this time we had Eddie the waiter and besides all the delicious food, he was the most amazing waiter. Their special desert that is flambeed (sp?) is amazing and Eddie brought us some sparkling wine on the house to go with it. His brother works there as well and was wonderful in "lighting up" our desert. The live jazz was great too and it was just a magical night overall. We will definitely be back!
