This coffee shop may have great coffee, however, with zero sugar-free options, I was not able to give it a try. I was very disappointed in my visit.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing coffee shop!! The latte was amazing.
The service was super friendly and the ambiance was also relaxed. Great coffee shop. Matcha latte was solid!
Be the first to ReplyI come here way too often.
This is the best coffee shop in SB. The vanilla latte here is goated. The staff deserve a raise for their excellence. No cap.

. Went with my daughter after we visited the Santa Barbara Museum. Thought we'd stop in for a coffee afterwards to relax and went to Dune. They were about to close within the hour but we still had plenty of time. I ordered a decaf iced Americano and she had extreme difficulty with the machine. Never told us even though we were just sitting outside on the small right in front of her. She put out my daughter's drink first and then we had a mixup, which was tres leches latte a little sweet, but OK however, my drink came about half an hour after hers. What a shame that I already tipped on poor service and poor product. Then they were closing up and really a rush to get out of there. I understand things happen, however, the communication would have been nice to have.

Like all of the Dunes, here you get consistently well made barista drinks which you can sip and enjoy in a chill and hip atmosphere. I will continue to shout Dune's praises: the coffee is just as good as Handlebar without the insanity of the crowds. Thus, they're all (Dunes) great spots to grab a coffee and camp out, working, or for a quick to go pick me up.

Discovered this cool coffee spot on state and it quickly became a favorite. Their vanilla latte is something else! There's just nothing quite like syrups made in-house, and this place was no exception. It's got a distinctly smooth and slightly nutty flavor that just hit the spot. Surprisingly found out they have multiple locations in the area (Goleta and SB), so you bet I'm excited to explore and try new things on their menu. Can't wait to go back for another round and see what else Dune has up its sleeve.

Watered-down, flavorless coffee served by incredibly rude staff with attitude. Old Town Coffee right down the street is cheaper, tastier, and much friendlier.

In five years in SB I like to think I've tried most of the coffee the area has to offer. While some places are superior in terms of ambiance and convenience, the bottom line is that Dune has the best coffee. I like my coffee black. I'd go out for it more often, but a 16oz black coffee ends up in the $4 range (with a small tip), pretty much wherever you go. Why is a black coffee with nothing added to it, so close in price to the fancier, more popular drinks? It's beans + water. But I digress. Dune has a good vibe. The black coffee is almost always on the money. You can tell it's super high quality. Not too bitter, but not too weak. For some reason I like the State Dune more than the Cota one. It's a bit more down to earth and accessible. The staff is always super cool. and the almond croissants and morning buns are off the hook! (yet, they are another item in SB that I'd buy far more often if they weren't so cost-prohibitive) Bottom line: if you are looking for the best coffee in the city, go to Dune!

Great service and vibe! The baristas were totally slammed, the line was super long and it seemed like they had a ton of to go ordered too. Even so we still got our drink super fast and the people working were super friendly! Not a ton of seats so more of a grab and go vibe but you can sit outside!!
Be the first to ReplyMy favorite coffee shop and I don't live in Santa Barbara.
Somehow has managed to keep it's quality high even though it's much busier then it used to be
Be the first to ReplyChai was ok.
Tasted a bit watered down to me. Pumpkin spice latte was ok too. I had better.
Be the first to ReplyGood service and good mocha.
I loved the seasonal apple cider. Huge wedge of lemon and a stick of cinnamon yum.
Be the first to ReplyConsistently my favorite coffee shop in SB.
Actually they have the best coffee in general Ive probably ever had. Though I wish theyd start offering caramel as a flavor add in, the vanilla is really really in point. Nice pronounced flavor. And a rare gift is that they have heavy cream as a creamer option. It's a happy day all around whenever I come.
Be the first to ReplyDelicous lattes.
Iced oat milk vanilla latte was superb. Love their plenty of outdoor and indoor seating with wifi available. Dune whole roasted coffee beans are the best for our homemade lattes as well. Staff are happy to welcome us and quick to take and bring out our order. Thank you to Dune for your calm and inviting ambiance. Sweet place to get work done or catch up with fam/friends at the heart of downtown Santa Barbara.
Be the first to ReplyVery good lattes.
Haven't had a chance to check out their other stuff, but definitely go here.
Be the first to ReplyThe espresso was remarkably good.
It was sweet and nutty and comes with a side of bubbly water as a palate cleanser! The baristas were super friendly and kind to our kiddos. This place is worth the walk whenever you are here.
Be the first to ReplyLovely little cafe.
Nice outdoor seating. Pastry selection changes slightly every day. Coffee is quite strong, latte art is on point. Price is totally fair. Not a tourist trap.
Be the first to ReplyCute coffee shop on state street.
Friendly service. I had an iced matcha latte with oat milk and a splash of vanilla for a little sweetnesss. A tasty afternoon pick me up.
Be the first to ReplyMy go-to daily coffee place.
Really good specialty pour-overs too. Seems they have changed pastry supplier recently --I miss the specialty French pastries they used to have.

Ok so, I don't actch drink coffee, and I usually don't drink caffeine, but I came all the way from Los Angeles and was feeling shrimpy and sleepy, so I thought I'd break with tradition and get some caffeine. I enquired about the Arnold Palmer, I was told I could get it with black tea, green tea, and herbal... I chose the black at the suggestion of the barista. And let me tell you, that drink slaps, not only was it generally scrumptious it was surprisingly fruity (like me, tbh) it was totally invigorating!Do not sleep on Dune, they know what's up.Oh, my friend who got the coffee said it was decent, but she's a coffee snob. Not overly sweet. The staff is extremely kind and helpful.

I was very looking forward to trying this place when I was in town but It didn't live up to my expectation. I ordered a latte and it was luke warm and mediocre.

Love this spot! Great customer service,Great coffee and their pastries are so so yummy!
Be the first to ReplyGreat coffee spot.
.. Two fabulous outdoor patios, cool decorations & have the cinnamon powder which is a plus... Their coffee is very good and it's a nice place to relax & socialize or get work done. They have good banana bread too. The only drawback is they don't have a real large American coffee. Everything in America is huge from the food portions to the trucks everywhere etc. They need a real large coffee like a venti at Starbucks or MCD large. They can charge a few extra bucks people will pay. It will be perfect coffee shop then with real large American coffees for fluffy Americans like myself . I used to come here a lot. Still a great spot.
