Decent Hotel
It was a decent hotel. The bellmen were excellent. They told us how to get where we were going and the right subways to take. Only thing is do not believe the pictures online. To me the rooms were very small, but I am from the south so our rooms are bigger at hotels from what I've been told. The room was very dated compared to what I saw online. Bed was very low to the ground so be aware of this if you have back problems. The rooftop bar has a great view but needs work unless they only clean it up during the hotter months. Location is good. Plenty of places to eat around. Elevators take forever, but they are a very busy hotel. I did not eat at the hotel restaurant so not sure how the food is.

The front entrance isn't that welcoming. It looks like the tradesman entrance. The room was comfortable but probably the smallest room I've ever stayed in. The hotel is in a good location to move around the city but the immediate area is pretty unpleasant. You definitely need to be on your guard as soon as you are in the street. Be prepared to witness some strange goings on. We didn't use the downstairs restaurant as the staff seemed disinterested and rude. The one thing I'm really annoyed about is that when other guests smoke weed in their room the smoke travels along the vents into everyone else's room. I don't appreciate my children having to breathe this in while sleeping.
Be the first to Reply100 people flying in from around the world. Reservations made 1 year ago. Cancelled weeks before date with no alt accommodation
100 marchers coming into NYC from all around the world. Hotel rooms were booked as early as May 2022. 80% of our marchers are booked at this hotel ALL resevations have been cancelled. No one at Doubletree is offering to assist with new accommodations OR honor the rate given at a different location. These people have booked non refundable flights and are not scrambling THREE WEEKS before the event . The Event is the 25th Annual Tartan Day Parade
Be the first to ReplyGlass door from bath was about to fall.
Regarding my stay experience, I wanted to share some feedback. Unfortunately, the glass door in the bathroom was falling down during my stay, at the first day, first attempt to take a shower. Although I understand that accidents can happen, I was surprised that the cleaning staff did not notice it beforehand, it was obvious there. It was a really dangerous situation, even because we were with our kid, imagine I send him take shower and to do check the door, that was falling out from its position, it was really bad, the maintenance guy had to call his coworker and both of them removed the entire door side and glue everything again. In the meantime I was in room waiting all this be fixed, after that the glue smell was there, so we decided left for hours and opened the window in hope to when return the smell is gone. I think front desk should have moved us a known good room as soon as I reported the problem. The cleanliness, not even the toilet was cleaned when we got in the room, there was pee from previous guests over the sides, really bad. My conclusion is the clean staff only fix the beds and refiled shampoo and paper and done, I did not see a clean room.

I am a Diamond hilton member and love my Hilton status but this room is the smallest excuse of a room I've ever had. I feel like I am living in a kennel and won't stay here again. The room is honestly just a tiny bit bigger than the actual bed. This is a kennel.

Destiny B. WAS THE BEST. She was so helpful, patient, sweet, and accommodating. She made sure we got the same rate on our room when we added more nights at the last minute, and then, threw in 2 free drink vouchers and 2 free breakfast vouchers just because! She was just the best. The hotel is also very comfortable. Loved the bed and the pillows. 10/10 would recommend.
Be the first to ReplyDoubletree Hilton stay 21st to 27th June
Hotel staff are amazing and very helpful and friendly. Cookies are to die for please make sure you try them. Rooms are sufficient and you can ask for housekeeping if required. Close to all amenities and location is brilliant. Port authority metro/subway and bus service just over the road. Times square/theatre District/ central park/ The edge and Empire state building all within walking distance. 2 bros pizza/coffee shops/ bars and restaurants all local. Would definitely stay again. Thanks to all reception staff for a pleasant stay.

Extremely disappointed with our stay. To summarise and save you the time before I get into detailā¦ - 90% of the staff are rude - Wildly overpriced - Stank of marijuana - Rooms the size of a shoe box - lifts and how busy the place was almost intolerable. The check-in experience; staff treated us like it was an effort to check us in. Not really friendly and just wanted to get us away from reception as quickly as possible. The on-site restaurant and āgrab and goā section is wildly overpriced. The lobby, lifts and walkways to guest rooms often stank of marijuana. I know itās legal in NY but smelling it on the street is enoughā¦. It shouldnāt stink INSIDE the hotel. We are not prudent people in the slightest but the smell of weed often made us feel sick as it was so strong. We purchased our room from an Australian company called Luxury escapes. Will never do that again, it was far from luxury. We have stayed in NY before and understand hotel rooms are small. But these rooms were the size of a shoe box. The hotel was clean and modern and beds/sleep was comfortable. About one of the only positive things I can say is the housekeepers were all lovely and did a great job. Lifts getting to and from the rooms was absolutely atrocious and we often had to use the fire escape stairs down 15 floors as we got sick of calling multiple lifts that were full or the wait time was too long. When we did use the lifts, guests were often chatting and saying how bad the lifts were. All of the staff bar 2 or 3 nice ones were completely unaware how rude and abrasive their language is. Also reception staff seem to be completely clueless about basic things and need to reply on a supervisor for everything. One particular supervisor looked at me as if I slapped her mother when I asked her if it was possible to check-out one day early but hold the room for a few hours in case we couldnāt get on our earlier flight. We didnāt want a refund, just asking if they could hold processing the checkout for 4 hours. It was like it was the worst question anybody had ever asked her. I really regret not spending the extra $700 and staying somewhere nicer and better reviewed. This hotel was a total disappointment and was part of the reason we wanted to catch a flight out a day earlier.
Be the first to ReplyDo NOT stay here you will NOT get your deposit back
Do NOT stya here. We stayed on from 2 to 5 February. The hotel took 150$ deposit and advised that it would be returned 10 days after our stay. The website states 30 days. It is now over 5 weeks and we have NOT had a refund and the hotel are NOT responding to our emails. We are unable to find any other way of contacting the hotel

Be the first to ReplyNice stay
Really donāt understand why people are complaining about this hotel as surely the only time you would be spending in it is when youāre sleeping as youāre in NYC for gods sake! Nice tidy hotel with lovely staff and the pillows š³ the best pillows Iāve ever slept on, please tell me where I can buy some š
Be the first to ReplyTraumatic experience.. avoid!
Awful experience. Got there late evening after travelling from UK all day to be informed they had cancelled our reservation without any warning or justification!! This left us stranded in New York Saturday night with nowhere to go. Travelling with husband and 3 sons. Their attitude was appalling, uncaring and disrespectful. No reason to cancel our reservation. Do not book. Manager on duty was completely uninterested in helping us and just dismissed our plight and just saidātry booking.comā . We have complained and they havenāt even responded. Please do not trust this hotel.
Be the first to ReplyFAR BETTER HOTELS AROUNDā¦
The hotel needs some serious money spending on it. Reception was OK at check in except the lady thought it was more important to chat to her friend than to the guests who had arrived. The rooms are very small for 3 people (even for 2) and the constant smell of cannabis was nauseating at times despite the āno smokingā signs everywhere. The hairdryer didnāt work and the shower sent more water down the drain from the tap than we could get to come from the shower head but the TV was fine and the air on worked. (Yes we needed air on in February)! we had to ask for towels each day but they did attend to the room as requested so no complaints on that one. The view from the rooftop bar was the only selling point for this hotel in my mind. We didnāt spend too much time in the hotel room or reception and only had a coffee from the breakfast room (at $5 for a small take out cup) so canāt comment on the food but the staff seemed nice and it seemed clean. The location is good for exploring Times Square but having been to NYC twice before, I had better stays elsewhere. I wouldnāt recommend this hotel
Be the first to ReplyDO NOT STAY HERE! WORST HOTEL EXPERIENCE EVER!
PLEASE DO NOT STAY HERE! From the filthy, tiny rooms that smell awful, to the faulty elevators that take over a half hour to get on one, this hotel is THE WORST Iāve ever stayed at. Not to mention the rude staff and faulty fire alarm system that went off TWICE in the middle of the night. Nothing like going down and then back up 25+ flights of stairs with 2 kids at 2am! Also, worst $100 breakfast with runny eggs and terrible coffee. As we were trying to be compensated for the terrible stay, multiple guests shared with me they were in the same boat and very unhappy. PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR, AND DONāT STAY HERE!
