Nice, what else. Its a hotel in the middle of Vienna. Staff strict, but just doing there job. Welcome to Austria! Nice stuff, all should get a big Bonus after Christmas and a double salary for there hard work.
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful hotel!
This hotel is beautiful and in a great location. It is expensive and breakfast was not included. We had a slight issue with our room when we arrived and ended up being moved and upgraded to a room with an amazing view of cathedral and Xmas market. I was very happy and surprised with the quick work to resolve our issue by the staff of the hotel. The upgrade really made our experience that much better.
Be the first to ReplyYou MUST stay here
Wow. Omg. Wonderful. Everything was amazing. Great room. Awesome staff who are so accommodating and they spoke perfect English. Excellent and unbelievable location opposite the most magnificent church. Delicious breakfast too. Yes yes yes!!!! Stay here!!
Be the first to ReplyOutstanding
The hotel staff was superb. The restaurant’s amazing. Our room, which was more like a suite, had a breathtaking view of the city! Soundproof room was definitely soundproof! Would highly recommend it!!! The central location was perfect. We were within walking distance to numerous fine dining locations!
Be the first to ReplyHospitality training needed at this property
This hotel is nice enough and right across from St. Stephen’s Cathedral. Some of the staff at the front desk have a major attitude and our welcome/check in was abysmal. Two young ladies sat at the desk, one of them clearly didn’t want to be there and when she showed us to our room she acted as if we were inconveniencing her. She gave us a very brief and sparse explanation of the property and did not explain the breakfast package we purchased which led to major confusion the next day as the breakfasts are not buffet. Not sure I would stay here again or recommend it to others. Some of the staff were very nice, but some hospitality training is clearly needed here.
Be the first to ReplyUnexceptionable manners
The two ladies that were on the host, were very rude. It just takes fine manners and a smile to be a hostess, it's not that I difficult. They gave us the impression that if someone doesn't have a reservation for the restaurant is not welcome
Be the first to ReplyIdeally located but fell short of 5*
A mixed bag... overall, we wanted to love our stay but it fell slightly short of expectations from a 5* hotel. You pay for the location - and this really is unbeatable. Super central, within walking distance of a lot of the main sights or transport links. Easy journeys to both the main train station and airport, with taxis/Uber points a short walk away. All the staff throughout were incredibly friendly and efficient. We had a fault with our bathroom and the maintenance team arrived within 2/3 minutes and resolved the issue promptly for us. Sadly though, the rooms felt dated for the price and missing attention to detail that I would expect for a 5* hotel: - Flashing modem light on the wifi which was directly in front of the bed/mounted to the wall in eye line of the bed which was annoying for sleeping. - No rubbish bin in the toilet cubicle (there was one in the bathroom built into the sink but it was open/had no cover) so not pleasant for female sanitary products or others as you had to dispose of these by walking outside of the toilet and again, these would be exposed with no cover. - Extremely flat pillows with no other varieties in the cupboards to choose from. - Our internal roller blind had a broken blind cord which had been missed/left unrepaired. Sadly, both of our rooms were also extremely hot throughout the stay despite having no heating on/ensuring all of this was off. Room service would then close the windows we had purposefully left open when outside, so we returned to rooms not properly ventilated. The flush on our toilet was also faulty, meaning maintenance had to be called to fix it and it would randomly run for 5-10 minutes at night which continuously woke us up. For visitors during the Christmas period: the hotel mounts lights to the outside windows which obstruct the room views of the church/surrounding sights. Equally, the winds/weather made these bang into the window which also added unnecessary noise. Lastly, it was quite surprising to me that a hotel of this calibre would have so little seating or general areas for hotel guests to use outside of the bedrooms. The restaurants do not keep a set # of tables back for residents, so without a booking, there is nowhere you can enjoy a drink or sit indoors. If you enjoy lounging in a reception or enjoying an open bar/relaxing outside of your room then this is not the right hotel for you. There is no breakfast option included in the price, which we also found surprising for the rates being charged.
Be the first to ReplyNot just the best location
No doubt the best location in Vienna but it doesn't end there, the rooms are super luxurious, clean and comfortable. The staff are great and the breakfasts at the top restaurant are one of the best we had. It is not cheap but you get a lot for your money. We highly recommend this hotel for any one looking for comfort, luxury and location.
Be the first to ReplyThe big dome room is the best view in Vienna.
The big dome room number 300 has to be the best view in Vienna and possibly the largest room. You feel like you're at home in this room. _________ Positives: Nice wooden floor boards, padded leather walls chic, Good for alcoholics... huge bar selection Massive living room area and amazing balcony right on saint stephens cathedral. Comfortable bed and pillows. Bathroom is excellent as well with jacuzzi and TV in the mirror. Best room in Vienna with the large balcony looking down at the crowds ____________ Negatives: The secondary door lock inside the main door didnt work. This is the one preventing anyone with card access entering. Asked for it to be fixed but they gave an excuse. It seemed like they didnt want to spend the money fixing it. We were worried about our daughter sleeping in that big room on the single bed right near that door. So we had to carry the single mattress inside to our room and put it on the floor. Any good hotel chain would send a technician immediately to fix this but the blonde receptionist didnt want to do this. Also, the billing situation is a bit weird. Sometimes we order room service and they make us sign for receipt to add to our room. Sometimes, however they said 'dont worry about signing anything we will add it to your room'. I found this a bit unusual. At check out all is says is a long list of the word. ''Restaurantumstz' with an amount. No date. No detail at all. We were worried if we trust this long list of unknown amounts. I think this hotel needs a bit of senior management to get involved. _______ Overall a great stay and highly recommend that big dome room!
Be the first to ReplyGreat location, good restaurant, average rooms and service
Great location, across the Stephansdom, but the hotel needs much more to be called a 5-star hotel. If it was located anywhere else in the city, it would be a 4-star, at best. The 'lobby' is on the 6th floor, meaning, there is a few sq meter space called a lobby with a tiny desk and one person operating it. If you are waiting to be served, you will have nowhere to seat and will be greeted by the restaurant concierge (or whatever the role is) who will make sure you feel inadequate to book a table. Despite minimal space, check in is fast and efficient. You learn later why because you will not have the necessary info when you check in into your room. There were menus from the restaurant and almost no information about the hotel, whatsoever. The room (city view room, overseeing Stephasnplatz with a glimpse of Stephansdom, is definitely not in a 5-star range - furniture is warned out, TV has a few channels, expansive bar to serve medium size party for a room hosting 2-3 people only (?) and very confusing design of a shower and toilet area. All in all, very tiny and cramped area where you don't feel like spending more time than necessary. The restaurant on the 7th floor is a different story, although we had to fight with the 'concierge' to get the table since she was dismissive to the very hotel guests just checking in earlier. Despite all that, the restaurant had great food and service and an excellent view. But, again, f you are going to checkin at a hotel because of a restaurant, then you should check in elsewhere, and go to the Do&Co restaurant only. Final verdict 3/5.
Be the first to ReplyLovely Hotel and rooms
We had a lovely stay in this hotel, the bed was comfortable, the room was very modern and the waterfall shower was amazing. The room was cleaned twice a day and the little chocolates left on the bedside tables was a nice touch. The reception staff were friendly and helpful when we asked for recommendations for restaurants etc. and the hotel is nice and secure as you need a room key to be able to go to the floors with rooms. The only things I would say detracted from our stay slightly was one evening about 10pm we went to the area to the left of reception and wanted to sit down for drinks. However we were told we could only sit on the stools facing the chefs for a drink as the tables were only for people coming in for dinner. There were lots of empty tables and during our stay on the stools for the next hour all the tables were still available. As guests paying to stay in the hotel I would have hoped we could have at least had a nice table to enjoy our drinks. The other thing was that on our last evening the lights by the bed stopped working, nothing would get them to turn on and there was a repetative buzzing/loud noise coming from possibly the air con every half an hour which didn't result in a good nights sleep before our flight home.
Be the first to ReplyLuxurious place and location
My family stayed only one night as it was high class for our standards but it was worth it. Views from our window was the best you can get overlooking cathedral. We enjoyed restaurant and always friendly personal approach. It's walking distance anywhere. You have all the highlights In front of you. Highly recommend to everyone.
Be the first to ReplyIncredible Experience
I stayed in this hotel during the month of May for 5 nights. This has been by far one of the best hotels that I have stayed. It is right in the middle of Vienna - with amazing view, walking distance to the best restaruants and cafes. The hotel service and personnel were great. The hotel restaurant and lobby (on the top floor) with city view, great food, and lovely wine list. If you are staying in Vienna, this is an amazing location with unbelievable service.
Be the first to ReplyIconic Building, Great Location, but Overpriced
It is an architect designed (Hans Hollein) building in a marvellous central location, opposite the Stephansdom, and within walking distance of many of the marvellous sights of central Vienna and close to authentic cafes and restaurants. The front of the hotel is a curve glass wonder, though our room 410 was at the back over an internal featureless concrete yard. It had a shared balcony but no chairs on the balcony, and there were uncleared cigarette butts on the balcony floor, which we thought came from the builders working in other rooms. It was a so called jacuzzi room. The jacuzzi worked well and was great fun the first time. If you like jacuzzi every time this room could be for you. There was also a good shower room. The bathroom sink was a modern glass bowl which was difficult to avoid splashing and the plug was missing. The shampoo and other bathroom condiments were not replaced when expired. Storage facilities for clothing were totally inadequate for this level of hotel. There was only one suitcase space and poor hanging space. Double rooms are used two people with two small cases and there was only place to put one case. One entire wall was taken by a large display bar, with wine spirits etc. A small inadequate amount of carafe water was provided. There were no kettle or coffee/tea making facilities. Electric plug facilities were clumsy and inadequate. We felt room cleaning was adequate, not excellent. The TV was modern and worked well. The bed and bedding was comfortable and we slept well. We were aware of a hum from an air conditioning machine in the internal yard but this did not disturb. The entrance to t his hotel is not appealing. On the ground floor one walks past a food counter to the hotel lift. Hotel reception is 6th floor, and hotel rooms are on 3re to 5th floor. There seemed no convenient place to sit outside the room. The ground floor of the building is occupied by shops and other business. Out price for 4 nights in late April 2022 was €1,080 room only (€270 per night). We did not have the breakfast which we felt overpriced, but there are other good cafes very near. We feel a fair price for the 4 nights would be €800. This hotel is described as 5 star. Based on room facilities, and the lack of common areas we feel it should be 4 or 3 star. We recommend and agree with the tripadviser review by jvtravelerParis dated Nov 2021 which states this hotel needs to get its act together in order to charge this level of prices. It is obviously a chain hotel run by managers of various levels and not by an owner manager. Alas, we feel we would be reluctant to stay again at these prices.
Be the first to ReplyFarewell dinner
Excellent food in a wonderful location, beautiful restaurant visted Wien many times and had farewell dinner at DO & CO.. Unfortunately I am 98 years old and will notmreturn to Wien. I was lucky to went back home 125 times
Be the first to ReplyNice experience
Nice hotel but too modern for my taste. The hotel is not so clean but the staff is very good and they are trying to please the guests. The hotel is in a very central area and you can enjoy the advantages of being near the central area of Vienna. The food was very nice (room service). I recommend it if you love modern type of hotels.
Be the first to ReplyVery nice hotel in a fab location, but they need to polish their act to justify the price
The Good: Absolutely fabulous location right on Stephensplatz. Just outside the front door to the left is a lift down into the U-Bahn that can quickly take you anywhere in the city. Funky hotel with the lobby and an Asian restaurant up on the 6th floor. Good security because you need a room key or a pass from the front desk to get to the main European restaurant on the 7th floor, the bar on the 8th, or the rooms on 3, 4, and 5. Restaurant food very good, a bit pricey, but not over the top. The Bad: Staff were always cheerful and acted attentive, but didn't always follow through. And despite numerous contacts over seven days with the front desk staff, they never remembered our name or room number. There's no coffee machine in the room to start, but they provided a Nespresso and capsules right away after we requested one. Asked for decaf capsules, and they promised they would send them right up. No decaf capsules appeared until the very last day we were there - and in the meantime I had gone out to the nearby Nespresso store and bought some. On another occasion, they promised to order a pedicab to take us to the Hofburg Palace - never arrived, so we walked and were almost late for the Spanish Riding School show. One late afternoon when we tried to make a restaurant reservation, they said they were fully booked but could squeeze us in at 7:30p if we promised to be done by 9p. No problem, but when we arrived for dinner, the staff in the restaurant had no clue about fitting us in and had to call the front desk. They want to be a 5-star hotel, but they really need to improve their service to get there. It's fine to be cheerful, but they also need to be effective. Two last things: the breakfast is not included in the high room price, and is VERY expensive (minimum 30€ for two for pastries, coffee, and juice). And there are steps inside the "city view" double rooms to get from the bedroom to the bathroom area - they should warn you about that because they're difficult if you're someone who gets up in the middle of the night.
Be the first to ReplyIncredible stay at our favourite hotel in Europe
We changed our Reservation numerous times since March 2020 and each re-booking was met with professionalism, understanding and heart. BIG thank you to the amazing Jana Jochmann who not only amended our reservation but re-booked our limo transfers too. This was our third stay at the Do&Co hotel and in the gorgeous, one of a kind Deluxe Suite. The view is stunning, overlooking Stephansplatz and my favourite Cathedral in all of Europe, St.Stephens. It's such a sleek, sophisticated space. From the white leather furniture, to the the wrap around window seats, to the amazing gold onyx bar, it's modern luxury at its best.....and even while you're in doors you feel part of the local environment. You're still a witness to all the activity. It was a very warm welcome back to our gorgeous suite. We were thrilled to find a Sacher Torte, Champagne, Flowers, Chocolate and Gummy Bears in Champagne glasses, large bottles of Still and Sparkling Water and a lovely welcome home note from the Manager and Jana (she remembered my love of Demel chocolate and how cool is that) The best part is the water's, chocolate and gummy bears were replaced daily....loved this! This is an amazing hotel, in a phenomenal location and with a superb staff. We are booked to return June 2022.
