Excellent pre-performance meal
Another warm welcome from the staff at Dine. Service is friendly and efficent - exactly what you want in a pre-performance meal. We particularly enjoyed the tender pork main course and the ice cream sundae was delightfully retro. Book well in advance of your concert, play or show - this is a deservedly popular restaurant.

Our time at Dine was fantastic. Andrew our cocktail waiter was attentive, full of knowledge and made the Martini Experience such an incredible afternoon. We learned so much and the best cocktails in Edinburgh. We will definitely be back .

This is our go to restaurant when we meet up, and has been for a number of years. We tried a different restaurant for a change but all agreed Dine was by far the best. Lovely staff and great service. Plus the food always wonderful. What more can I say, but see for yourself.
Be the first to ReplyWonderful evening with great food and atmosphere
A wonderful restaurant with a great atmosphere. Gabriela the manager took very good care of us. Very friendly and professional. Delicious and well presented food. The venison was cooked to perfection and the celeriac vegetable was truly delicious. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

My Mum and I visited Dine as a treat for her birthday (which also happened to be Mother’s Day). From the outset the staff were so welcoming and the restaurant had a lovely atmosphere. We were a bit early for our reservation, however we enjoyed a cocktail in the bar whilst we waited. The service and food was amazing and so tasty - as a vegetarian I was catered for well and tasted some of the best food I have ever had. The bottle of red wine we chose also complemented the cuisine. I can’t wait to return again soon with friends and more family so we can all share this hidden gem!

Really good food and excellent service. The pre theatre menu offers good value and a very good range of choices. We enjoyed all aspects of our visit and won't hesitate in returning.

This is a consistently excellent restaurant. The setting and service is lovely, the food is great, and the set menu is really good value.
Be the first to ReplyDINE is a firm favourite in our household
Our fifth or sixth visit; as ever, an imaginative menu with great food at each course. Outstanding service.

Wonderful atmosphere, great food and great service. Andrew, who served us was superb. Really enjoyable evening
Be the first to ReplyI don't know how they do what they do for so little. It must be magic.
We hadn't been for a while and it was so nice to be welcomed so warmly. Our server was delightful and very attentive. I had the Spinach and Courgette Soup which was divine, whilst my partner devoured the Prawn Cocktail. For main course I plumped for the melt in the mouth Pork Belly, whist my other half wet for the Pan fried Sea Bream. Both dishes were an explosion of tastes on the tongue, and cooked to perfection. To finish, I had the Eton Mess, with some heavenly local berries, whilst my partner had the Chocolate Brownie, both of which complimented the previous courses and left us satiated, but not over full, just perfect. All that and a lovely bottle of Red Wine for just £54.50. Incredible value. We definitely won't leave it so long 'til our next visit.

Be the first to ReplyFabulous restaurant 😋
Great food with great gluten-free choices. Also lovely cocktails. Excellent service. Didn’t even get a shock when the bill came 😉
Be the first to ReplyPerfect location for pre-show dinner for the military tatoo, but also for other opportunities...
The atmosphere and service is great. You get extraordinary food and drinks. The restaurant is elegant, but in no means "arrogant". With this I mean that you get perfect quality on food, drinks and service, just fine dining, but you are treated "normal" without any extravagant habit. A beautiful design and atmosphere, but keeping you staying normal.
Be the first to ReplyA fine time at Dine
Finally got a reservation for a Saturday night and I can now understand why it’s so popular. Visited with my husband and a friend from France. My husband is vegetarian and was delighted to have more than 1 option and not a vegetarian lasagna too be seen. His options nearly converted me! The food was divine and the service faultless. They are almost psychic for attention just as it’s required . We were all very impressed and I’m already looking ahead for a booking to enjoy all over again. Pleasantly surprised at the cost too, you could spend the same at a mediocre chain-owned pub in the Old Town. Keep up the great work.

We visited dine in early july after reading all the reviews. My expectations were incredibly high and these were suitably met. The food was out of this world and all of the flavours blew both of us away. Our waiter, Dylan along with all of the staff we spoke to were fantastic. He gave us some fantastic wine recommendations to accompany our food. We even were able to enjoy a post dinner cocktail in the lounge area, overall a perfect venue
Be the first to ReplyExcellent food and no automatic service charge
I have visited Dine at Cambridge Street a number of times and have never had a disappointing meal. On this occasion our food was beautifully cooked, particularly the sea bream which we both chose. My husband especially enjoyed his chicken starter. The drinks menu is extensive and it’s interesting to see imaginative touches such as a martini menu and less common drinks like mescal. It’s also good to have tea and coffee included in the price of the market menu. As mentioned in the title I appreciate being able to eat at a restaurant which doesn’t automatically add a service charge to the bill. We were recently at a restaurant at the west end of Edinburgh with poor service and had to ask to get the service charge removed. However we were totally happy to add a tip to the bill at Dine as our waitress was very pleasant and efficient. I hope to return again to Dine soon, it has a relaxing atmosphere and I love the tree with the purple lights.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent food and ambience
I have been to Dine on three occasions recently and each time both I and my fellow diners were impressed by the quality of the food and the staff friendly and attentive.
Be the first to ReplyGood food, good service and good value.
This is an excellent restaurant with well chosen menus. The service is friendly yet discreet, and the pre-theatre ‘market menu’ is really good value. It is really well situated in the centre of town, adjacent to the Usher Hall and Royal Lyceum Theatre, and in the same building as the Traverse Theatre.
Be the first to ReplyDinner with relatives
Our relatives were visiting for a short stay in Edinburgh and we had booked for a show in the Usher Hall, so we decided to take them to Dine for a pre theatre meal. They were so impressed with the restaurant, the food, the ambience and the friendly efficient staff. Dine never fails to impress. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough as it always presents an excellent standard of fine dining and atmosphere.
Be the first to ReplyFine Dining at an affordable price
As you walk in you are warmly greeted by the professional staff and shown to a table with proper linen tableclothes and sparkling cutlery and glasses. The atmosphere and decor are ideal and the waiting staff are quick to put you at your ease and are extremely knowledgable in explaining the menu if required.
The food, from what I would say is a fairly limited menu, was superb with ideal sized portions. The pork belly was to die for.
Everything about our visit was 1st class without it being ripp off prices.
Hen do lunch
Thank you so much for such a fab lunch! We had wine and dine for 13 of us for my hen do and it was fabulous, the service was amazing and the food even better. Really appreciate you being so accommodating. We will be back. Thank you!!
Be the first to Reply4 Fantastic Visits
I have been to Dine many times. Last week I attended 4 times with various friends, 3 of which were for the fantastic Jeff Leytons musical nights. Jeffs nights sell out within hours, cannot recommend enough for anyone who loves musical theatre to go (if you can get a ticket!)
Dine itself is a lovely restaurant, everything about it from the decor, the tree and lounge area. Staff are always very attentive and polite. The food is always top quality and have a great selection of drinks and cocktails. It has a very relaxed atmosphere. Also great place to go before going to Usher Hall or Traverse Theatre. It will always be my no.1 place to go to in Edinburgh
First Dinner in Scotland - A Good Start
Service is very attentive and welcoming. Decor pleasant and ambience warm. Food very good quality, well prepared and presented. My wife and I both had the pigeon starter which was billed as served pink - living in France we're used to pink pigeon and ours was barely pink so some was a little on the chewy side - our fault that we didn't raise it at the time but it didn't stop our enjoyment of the meal. Our mains were the venison - very good, though the mulled red cabbage was thin and not to our liking we'd change that for just about anything else! The other main was the calves liver again good but portion size a little on the small side and the meat had quite a bit of sinew still in it which detracted a little, otherwise a very nice dish. Wines we find generally overly expensive in the UK for the price and quality - I guess we're spoiled in France. C'est la vie.
