Din Tai Fung Costa Mesa Reviews from The Last Year
Not a lot to say but they do what they do better than
Not a lot to say but they do what they do better than anyone else. I was visiting LA for my daughter and this was a "to-do" on our list and it never disappoints. Food is perfect, there is nothing better than their spicy dumplings. Service is borderline Michelin quality in that you never want for anything as they are always there to serve. Ambiance is a mind fuck in that every time I've been they're located in a mall and while it may be the bougie mall, it's still a fucking mall and yet it works. Honestly, my favorite part of as that they had some of my favorite East Asian beers on draft and there is nothing better to compliment dumplings than a really really good beer.
First off amazing service as soon as we walked in the whole
First off amazing service as soon as we walked in the whole staff was so friendly and welcoming. Food was amazing it was our first time having soup dumplings and it was to die for. I definitely would recommend if you're in the area and want something new to try.

I live in Las Vegas and I've been wanting to try the Din Tai Fung that we have at the Aria casino but I haven't gotten around to it. Came to California for a little mini vacation and decided to try it here for my first time. This Din Tai Fung is located inside the South Coast Plaza which is perfect to kill time for the extremely long wait times they have to dine-in. We were a party of 5 and the wait was about 2 hours - they do not take reservations for a party of 5 or more. Luckily the food was delicious and came out fairly quick so it was worth the wait. Lynne was our server and she was great. Very attentive and made sure to explain the menu to us being our first time. She even made our dipping sauce for us (1 part soy sauce + 3 parts vinegar). As for the food, everything we ordered was so good. The "must-haves" would definitely be: string beans with garlic, spicy wontons, fried rice, noodles in spicy sauce, and for dessert the chocolate and mochi xiao long bao with a side of sea salt cream. I personally prefer the spicy wontons over the pork xiao long bao. Their spicy sauce isn't really spicy but still very good - maybe like a 2/5 on the spice level but I also kind of have a high spice tolerance. Cucumber salad: 5/5 *String beans with garlic: 5/5 Kurobuta Pork Xiao Long Bao: 4/5 *Spicy wontons (shrimp & pork): 5/5 Spicy wontons (vegan): 5/5 *Noodles with spicy sauce: 5/5 *Fried rice: 5/5 Shao mai (shrimp & pork): 4/5 Wok fried noodles (shrimp): 4/5 *Chocolate & mochi xiao long bao: 5/5 *Side of sea salt cream: 5/5 Matcha milk tea: 4/5 Sea salt cream iced tea (black tea): 4/5
Delicious! Green beans, dumplings, noodles, cocktails.
..would recommend everything 10/10

Absolutely my favorite place to eat when in Huntington
Absolutely my favorite place to eat when in Huntington Beach. Highly recommend it to any and all!! Can't wait to go back, highly suggest making reservations and sitting on the patio if the weather is nice.
Food is aight for the price.
I'd rather buy a ticket back to Asia where the price is actually reasonable for the quality of food. The wait here is atrocious -- you have to wait in line to put down your name, wait for hours for them to call your name, wait in the same line again after you've been called, wait on the side after they check you in to be seated, wait at the table after they seat you, and wait for them to slowly go through all the orders to be served. If I wanted to wait, I'd rather stand in line at Disneyland on a summer weekend. This place isn't for eating, it's for waiting. TLDR; wait hours just to wait more, only to eat mid quality, over-priced food.
Food and drinks are always so good.
There's definitely hype to this place for a reason. It can be quite loud and packed given it it in the mall. Reservations would be the way to go if you don't want to deal with the hours of waiting for a spot.
this location is a lot better than the one at arcadia! we
this location is a lot better than the one at arcadia! we waited only 5 min for the bar (great hack if you don't wanna wait hours for a table) ~Food~ lychee + pear martini: 10/10 perfect amount of sweetness, can't really taste the pear though sapporo draft: 10/10 can't go wrong matcha milk tea: 9/10 surprisingly really good, but matcha could be stronger string beans: 10/10 this dipped with vinegar and chili oil is amazing!! love the garlic flavor and the crunch of the beans pork xlb: 9/10 flavor is great but it's always lacking in broth. i feel like they could fill it with more broth inside chocolate mochi xlb: 1000/10!!! MUST. this is my favorite item at dtf and i never fail to order ~Service: always 10/10 service ~Cost: $$ around $13-16 per item ~Parking: free mall parking
A mandate from heaven to make divine dumplings.
Yeah, there's that good. And I only had the soup dumplings, spicy wontons and green beans and garlic. With a delicious orange green tea. So the staff is great, if you are unfamiliar with Taiwanese food, they walk you through the menu and make recommendations. Friendly staff. Bad news. You'll have to wait. Choosing the bar line is faster, making an early reservation like I did even better (they open at 10:30 AM). I hear the wait can be up to 2 hours for a table, or more on weekends. I was in Shanghai about 3 months ago and had soup dumplings in a hole in the wall little shop my friend from Shanghai said was one of the best in the city. Din Tai Fung comes as close to that as I have had outside of China.
I highly recommend
Their food and dipping sauce has an exceptional taste, made of world class ingredients. Very satisfying. The ambiance, flatware, tables are high end, servers are well trained, very accommodating and ready to serve with a warm smile.

Had amazing food and service! Drinks were great too, definitely worth the wait!! Sometimes that can mean up to over an hour but even still, everything about this place makes it worth it.!!

Love this place!! Went with friends today and every dish we got was absolutely amazing. If you've never tried their flavored green teas I highly recommend. The teas aren't too sweet or too bitter but you can definitely still taste the fruit in them. Every time I go the food always hits!

Authentic hand made dumplings by true artisans, and you can watch the process. Amazing service and attention to detail. This is a bit of a wait, very popular... so put your name in and enjoy the mall. Very with the wait and experience.
Din Tai Fung is iconic and lives up to its reputation.
They have the best Chinese food around and you really can't go wrong with their menu. The cucumber salad is a must to start and their peanut noodles are an overlooked triumph, but the rest of their menu is just as solid. Look for what you feel like having on the day and it WILL be good. The only part that isn't stellar is their desserts, but that is fine because you can find plenty of dessert in the mall if you really want it. The wait times get pretty long so showing up when they open is recommended.
Say what you may, but I love this place.
It's not cheap, but their food is always delicious. From the ramen to the veggies to the dumplings, including soup and chocolate ones, I'll stop by any chance I get. (And the line/wait time allows.) Staff is always nice, place is always clean. I'm never annoyed by the time check comes in, even if it's higher than I'd originally planned.

Always so incredibly tasty! Love the quickness and efficient service. The dumplings are omg my favorite
Love the food, the service and the ambiance.
It's hustle bustle like in Hong Kong but a clean fun environment. Xiao Long Bạo are the best and the green beans--OMG I can have that for main entree My daughters would argue that their chocolate dumplings are the best but again...it's arguably because I love their spicy wonton a bit more.

I love Din Tai Fung and I can say I frequently eat here and have practically had their entire menu. I will say that the line is always pretty long so I put my name at least 2 hours beforehand and run my errands or go shopping. Tip: for bar seating they have walk-ins (approximately: 30 minutes to be seated for a party of 2) The service here is great and Jennie my go-to server is always so attentive and sweet. Listed my favorites from each section (** my favorites among favorites): Appetizers: Seaweed and bean curd salad Sweet and sour baby back ribs ** Hot and sour soup ** XLB: Crab and Kurobuta Pork ** Steamed dumplings and buns: Chicken and mushroom buns Wontons: Spicy wontons (I add on extra vegan noodles and mix it together) ** Greens: String beans Noodles: Noodles w diced beef + Szechuan peppers Noodle soup: Braised beef noodle soup From the wok: Shanghai shrimp rice cakes ** Fried pork chop fried rice Desserts: Sesame and mochi XLB** (For a less sweeter option) Chocolate XLB *ADD SIDE OF SEA SALT CREAM TOP (a must) Drinks: Pear Lychee martini** Cucumber gimblet** Orange green iced tea** (non alcoholic) Sea salt cream black tea (non alcoholic) Hot Tea (Taiwanese jasmine) IG: @gabxeatz

We placed on DoorDash and called the restaurant to inform them that I have celiac disease - a severe gluten allergy. Tricia picked up the phone and was so helpful and said she would talk to the chef and restaurant manager and make sure that everything that we ordered was safe for me. Would recommend. Tricia was awesome!
:D I went to Din Tai Fung today w/ my mother.
We did not get much to eat since it was just the two of us but here's a review bc why not! The cucumber salad is self-explanatory but still weirdly addicting. Whenever I come here I always get the hot and sour soup! It's definitely a must and a great dish to start off with. The portion size is great and you can definitely share w/ a large group. The garlic string beans are always 10/10! I eat them like they're fries. Extremely flavorful with the garlic. The star of the show has to be the Spicy Shrimp and Pork Wontons! Very flavorful and it comes w/ a lot of filling! Lastly, I wanted to try the Shrimp and Pork dumplings which weren't too bad but it was lacking flavor. Service is always great at DTF! Super long wait as always though so always plan ahead! A few other dishes I love getting there are the classic XLB, Stir fried Shrimp Rice Cakes, Fried Rice, Potstickers, and can't forget the chocolate XLB!
Came here Saturday morning at 9:30am reservation.
There was a line outside the restaurant for walk-ins and for reservations. We told the staff that we have reservations and got put in a separate line. We were immediately seated. I got variety of things like hot and sour soup ($12.50), pork xiao long bao-10pcs ($15.50), noodles with sesame sauce ($11.50), shrimp and pork dumplings-10 pcs ($16.50), shrimp and pork shao mai-5 pcs ($11), shrimp and pork spicy wonton-8pcs ($15) and pot stickers-5pcs ($12). I honestly thought the food was okay. All the food I ate really lacked salt. Like they used very little to no salt. I honestly would have enjoyed the flavor if they added more salt and seasonings. I thought it was a huge let down in terms of flavor. It's presented really really well and made fresh daily though. Would love to have salt added to the food to enhance the flavor. It's expensive and would enjoy the food more if it had salt. It tastes so bland and so expensive, I was a bit disappointed coming here.
Good... As Long As You Don't Mind Being Rushed
We were visiting from out of state, and spent $80 on Uber to get to and from this restaurant, because we absolutely loved the Din Tai Fung in Las Vegas, and were hoping for a repeat of that outstanding experience. This one did not live up to the Vegas experience. Good points: The food was good (though a notch below Vegas, which was excellent), convenient location, we had reservations so did not have to wait long, and the staff was nice. However, the ambiance was not as nice, and we felt very rushed. We generally do not take very much time when dining, so I do not like feeling rushed. We would possibly visit again if nearby, but would definitely not go out of our way to dine here again.
Amazing food as always
Second time to this location and had an even better time, if that is possible. Last time, we had to wait much longer, but we seemed to hit the sweet spot this time and only had a 15 minute wait for 4 of us. Great xiao long bao, hot and sour soup, and pork fried noodles. The thing that put it over the top is the dish of chocolate mochi xiao long bao for dessert. They are such a glorious texture with the warm chocolate busting through the dumpling wrapper as you chew. Always happy to come here and the staff was great.
Excellent local favorite
The wait was long, but it always is. I've heard such good things for years and never got around to trying it. Went with friends for a delicious meal. Especially enjoyed the Xiao Long Bao, veggies, and desserts!

Payouts Blocked Because of Sell Through Rate

Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??

Yes unfortunately they are finding more and more ways to lock up sellers money. Sell thru rate, refund rate, limiting withdrawal amounts ler day and per month (which for me are the same number which makes no sense). Lot of sellers leaving as you can see from the lifetime sales not really increasing. Most posts on here are frustrated sellers which is not a recipe for success

I’m sorry to hear about this - I’m a brand new seller on the platform and didn’t realize this was a *thing* - any chance you can point me to the fine print/documentation where this policy is stated (also identifying other caveats like this would be appreciated)?
