Hipster Cafe with homemade Oatmilk!
i loved this lovely little cafe in Culver City. it is located in a spot that is industrial and desolate, where finding a good place to eat and have a cup of coffee would be about 10 min of walking. Destroyer is conveniently located near a major office space and has a nice variety of pastries, fresh eats, teas and coffee. the best part is they make their own oatmilk! its incredible. it is a bit pricey but i don't mind paying more if the quality matches the price.
Be the first to ReplyQuite the gastronomical experience.
The vibe of the place is very hip and fresh, The staff is great!
The dishes looked so gorgeous, like abstract art.... but the flavor knocked it out of the park!!!
Beautiful delicious food and off the beaten track in LA
Their chef has just won 2 Michelin stars at their sister restaurant and you can tell why with this amazing food. Scandinavian tapas all prepared in an open kitchen. Just be warned American tapas sizes are a LOT bigger than European ones!

The restaurant is inconspicuous, almost like a canteen in a zen temple. After reading reviews from the city's food critics, one gets almost a bit amazed at how easy and relaxed the whole visit feels. The menu feels a bit difficult to understand, but once you have tasted the individual beautiful creations, you take the whole set up

Be the first to ReplySo good we came back (twice!)
Sampled multiple items on both the breakfast and lunch menu. Each dish was as surprising and delicious as the other. Favorites were the beef tartare and pickled beats and carrots. Cannot remember the last time I was so blown away by a (to me) new restaurant.

Favorite was the beet "salad". Perfectly cooked beet chunks, pumpkin seed, quinoa, and wait for it... covered with shaved frozen horseradish flavored cream. Flavors popped in your mouth. An almond milk chai which was great. A limited menu projected on the wall. I'm guessing they change it often. Most interesting part is they have a Ready section. Yep, hot and boxed and ready to take out. Brilliant.
Be the first to ReplyTerrific quality to price ratio
Fresh, healthy, tasty, creative, and reasonably priced, what more can you ask for? Together with Guerrilla Tacos, the best quality to price ratio in LA, in my opinion. I loved the squash soup, beets, chicken, ... Will be back.
Be the first to ReplyRefined and elevated - moderate prices? Yes! Vegan? Not so much
Destroyer is a very unique place. I love the minimalistic, scandi-type interior. Open kitchen and very vibey menu projected on the wall. Unfortunately there's not a lot to choose from on the menu if on a vegan diet but the waitress was super friendly and helped arrange for the raw oatmeal to be served without Skyr. I tried that and also the avocado with bread on the side. Both dishes were really unique. And, I'd say a bargain considering the prices... If you're into fine dining you'll probably love to have a light and informal meal here. If you're into "all things hipster" but with a taste for more upscale eats then you'll also love it. Make sure to visit. It's worth it.
