Recommended by the LP guidebook so this is the first
Recommended by the LP guidebook so this is the first restaurant we tried in Innsbruck. Good thing as it doesn't seem to be open on Saturdays. It's on a narrow side street with a few tables outside. Inside the dining room has well spaced tables, and is artistically decorated, stylish and interesting. We both had the day's special which was sea bass on risotto. Perfectly cooked fish, well presented, the skin so crispy ate it all even though I usually don't like to eat fish skin. A bit pricy (entree at 32 euros) compared to some of the other places but it feels quite upscale.

This was one of the restaurants listed in the Sรผddeutsche Zeitung as a place to try in Innsbruck and, we decided to stop in and give it a go. I loved the food here and the service was also excellent. They have a 5 or 6 course degustation menu for both vegetarian and non vegetarians. They also have an a la carte menu with modern Austrian dishes as well as a few traditional Austrian dishes like schnitzel and so on. The a la carte menu also has quite a few choices for vegetarians. They will allow you to also select a dish or two from the degustation menu and let you order it as starter or main. The wine list is extensive and they have a good selection of Austrian and International wines. The waitress we had was very helpful and spoke good English. She also modified the menu slightly to fit a couple of people's requirement. We started with a smoked saibling with lentil and plums as well as a venison carpaccio to share. Both dishes were exquisite, subtle and packed with clean flavors. I absolutely loved my starters. For main I choose the beef cheeks which came on a bed of polenta and veggies. The beef cheeks were cooked to perfection and I loved it too. For dessert we shared a chocolate cake, chocolate mousse and a semolina schmarrn. The chocolate mousse was disappointing and the rest was great. The wine we had was amazing and the coffee was also quite ok. This place is more expensive and the wines are priced on the more expensive side but, not over the top. I would happily pay to eat here again. The flavors are amazing and the ambience and service is excellent. I look forward to my next visit. All four of us enjoyed our meals immensely and would come back here again anytime. A great restaurant in Innsbruck :-))

While it was a little pricey (100 euros for two people), it was totally worth it. The staff didn't speak much English, but they were extremely patient, quick, and most of the menu appears in English as well, so you shouldn't have much trouble if you don't speak German. The squash soup was probably the best I've ever had, and the steak was amazing, too. Everything else we had (tartar, veal, dessert) was all fantastic. Highly recommend!
Be the first to ReplyDengg was a great restaurant.
The menu is large and the food high quality and delicious. We started with a split pea soup with a bacon dumpling and a duck salad with rhubarb and asparagus. Then we had a parmesan risotto with fennel and an exceptional rabbit with mushrooms and parsnips. The entire meal, with some water, came to 65 euro.My girlfriend preferred Die Wilderen, but I thought Dengg was a lot tastier. Both solid 4/5 star places.
