Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steakhouse San Diego Reviews from The Last Year

The service and ambiance was amazing! They also have live music on Friday and Saturdays and the woman who sings is very talented. This is a perfect place to watch the sunset next to the water.
Not gonna lie.
I kind of expected more. Food was just ok. Service our server was was very nice but just expected a higher level of service. Steaks were salty. Didn't love how they portion out the sides per plate. We each ordered a side not sure why they wanted to dollop it all around. The food runner looked extremely annoyed when I asked if there was meat in a side. Yes i understand it's a steak house but they did have. Vegetarian options. If you are going to dollop sides around people who didn't specifically order for a reason you can't get annoyed by asking an ingredient. Probably wouldn't go back. The view was nice. And the dessert was delicious.
Came here on a Monday night with reservations to celebrate
Came here on a Monday night with reservations to celebrate my brother's birthday. It wasn't busy at all and when he was seated, he received a birthday card. Nice! We had a nice server who explained the menu and then we ordered. We waited and waited. The food came out after an hour when all of us were at our breaking point from being SO hungry. The food was good, but not worth the 1 hour wait especially concerning how expensive everything is. When we finished dining, a piece of cake wasn't brought out for my brother and we can only assume they forgot because they acknowledged it when we first sat. I ended up sneaking off and asking another guy to bring it out 20 minutes before closing. It was very sweet of him to scramble and make it happen anyway and I appreciate that. The place just seems so mismanaged or understaffed.
Del Frisco's went far and beyond to make our anniversary
Del Frisco's went far and beyond to make our anniversary dinner a special evening. The ambience and live music was wonderful and soothing which created a great atmosphere. They surprised us with a happy anniversary card with a thoughtful touch wishing us a happy evening which I can say no other restaurant has ever gone this far and beyond to make it so personal. Our server ask for Dylan 5 stars, was wonderful and attentive the entire evening, food came out fast and fresh, our 1/2 pound of Alaskan king crab legs were perfectly chilled $110, our bread was warm and fresh out the oven. The cab cake I wish we had more than one ( was not specified on the menu ) the ribeye was cooked to perfection medium, and my scallops were perfect warm , crispy in the outside and soft , not chewy in the inside served with a side of butter. My favorite was the asparagus lightly seasoned, soft to chew but crispy to enjoy the texture. I will say Del Frisco's enjoys to use butter on most of their dishes, but we enjoyed every bit of it. We ended our evening with two dessert a butter pound cake that was to die for and chocolate strawberry's . I have to say over all one of my all time favorite restaurants for a special romantic dinner for two this is definitely the place to spend any amount, it was all worth how happy we left for our special day. We look forward to returning again. Thank you.
Came here for business event and then came for a lunch.
This review is for the lunch. SERVICE - Our waiter was nice but so distracted. There was an event that occurred downstairs with live music. Every time he spoke with us, he was focused on what was happening downstairs and I don't think we ever had eye contact. It was a little off putting. FOOD Rolls - Sweet, soft, and buttery rolls. Holy butter these were drowning in it. A bit overkill but still enjoyed them. House Salad - Love the avocado dressing but hated the bacon strips just sitting there on top. I think it would have been better if it was crumbled. Side of Fries - Always fries. These were perfectly cooked. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Baked Potato - This was just okay. Nothing about it stood out. Ribeye - The meat was tender but the flavor was a little mild. Would not come here for a steak. Overall, beautiful restaurant with views. Food was okay. Maybe a one time experience type of place.
Food was amazing, ambience was excellent.
Unfortunately our server's demeanor appeared unfriendly and unpleasant but willing to get through our dining experience. Our group had a fantastic time. We love this restaurant and will continue to dine with my friends and family.

Love it more everytime I go! Best steaks all around and the service is A-1! Me and my wife use to come alone, now our reservations include our friends and family to join us everytime we go. It's such a lovely restaurant, from the bar with live music, wine filled staircase to the beautiful view with outdoor sittings. Best resturant in SD!
The bread was yummy but everything thing was blah.
..the steak flavoring was not good at all....A1 couldnt save it
We went here will friends and we had a bad experience.
We were there for 2.5 hours and my wife's steak was under cooked and my steak was over cooked. My wife ate what she could because she didn't want to wait anymore. They bought out another stake for me which was under cooked but by the time it came out I was full from all the bread I ate. Not to mention all my friends that came with us that said they had a bad experience too. I was told that they removed the steak from my bill but they changed me for three steaks and removed only one from my bill. The next day I called and they said that they meant to remove another steaks and that I can go back for a free meal next time. A couple of months later I went with my family to redeem the compensation and the experience was just as bad. Steaks were not cooked properly and the sides were not good either. I spoke to the waiter which tried his best to make it right. The manager took two steaks of our bill but I didn't mention to him that I had a print out of the email from a previous bad experience because I was embarrassed that he would thing this was my MO. I send an email the next day but I never heard back. They still owe me for two steaks but I don't think I will return.
I had an amazing experience here for dinner.
The drinks and food were excellent and we had an exceptional experience. Ryan the bartender gave us excellent recommendations and exceeded our expectations. We will definitely be back and thank you for a wonderful dining experience.

Excellent service by the team from host to server to manager. That's awesome. The venue and views are amazing! It's a modern design that blends well with being a steakhouse on the waterfront. The food was great. My one critique would be better management on the steak temperature. I ordered and medium and it came out well done. My server was happy to ask management about it for maybe a discount on the fries? I didn't want to bother anyone. Probably because I starting eating it. Normally, they would come back to ask if the steak was cooked right but I couldn't wait. The steak was generally fine, good seasoning but maybe too long at the pass? I was a slow at 6:00 on a weekday. Overall, great dinning experience.
This was a sad first experience.
The service was nice, but our $275 bill was not worth it at all. We were seated just beneath a speaker that was too loud so we couldn't hear each other, we both ordered drinks (old fashioned and the VIP). We shared the blue cheese wedge and honestly that was my second favorite thing. Our main course we shared a prime steak that was half fat for $67 not like good marbling just fat and we shared the seabass that was half rubber and half decent. The crab fried rice the seabass was on was good but the favorite item was the lobster Mac and cheese...that was amazing. So in order: the Mac and cheese, the salad, the crab rice, the drinks, then the steak, and the seabass... we've been to Morton's, Flemmings, born and raised...the list goes on and I'd go to any of those places before coming back here. DoubleEagle steakhouse? I'm not sure what that even means from this experience. Landry's also sells you on their select club but nobody knows how to use it once you have it, paying my bill took an extra 20 minutes...
Bryan was a phenomenal server.
The soup was good but the entree was not the highlight. Kid friendly as well!
Food was great, but everything else was awful.
I went on Valentine's day and wow. Worst dining experience I've ever had by far. It's absolutely mind blowing how a place like this is so abysmally managed. Waited exactly 43 minutes to be seated past reservation time. I sat down at 8:43 and was eating at around 10:30. I can normally tolerate subpar service since I have worked in hospitality before but this was just awful. Normally at these places they give you a side or a dessert for even the most minor inconvenience, but the staff didn't apologize and the manager was too scared to come to me when I asked for him. 0/10 spend your money at Fleming's or at Mortons or even Jack in the Box. I can cook excellent food at home but I pay for an experience which I did not get. Just look at all the other reviews!!!
Had a reservation when they first opened so we basically
Had a reservation when they first opened so we basically had the restaurant to ourselves. We were seated right away and our server was nice. I would give 5 stars for the ambiance but 3 stars for the food. The lobster bisque and crab cakes were amazing. The house bread was undercooked leaving a mushy middle to get through. When I was served the filet trio, everything was cold... not warm, completely cold. I've never been served a cold steak. Other than that we ordered asparagus and the truffle potato as our sides. Asparagus was cooked well but the potato was bland. I was expecting a little more flavor seeing that it was the waiter's recommendation. This was my second time attending this restaurant and I would say their seafood dishes are good, however everything else can use improvement. I'd rather go to a different steakhouse.
Jose is amazing.
Made my experience great and because of that quality of food and service I will be back and recommend.
