Hard to believe
It's been a long time since I ate so badly in Rome. Artichokes alla giudia inedible, meatballs inedible in every way, chicory inedible, the famous carbonara edible... for an Australian family.

Fast and attentive staff, nothing to say. Artichokes both Romana style and Giudia style absolutely not up to par. The sour Roman style, pickle jar style. Bad bad. Hard and dry meatballs inside, really sad and tasteless sauce despite the bacon. The worst? Saltimbocca alla Romana at €18 is truly almost inedible. A dry slice like a shoe insole with a salty, low-quality ham on top. The only queen of the evening was the epic corbonara which was truly the only really good thing. Evidently they are betting everything on the former. But that's not good. Waking up with a bitter taste in your mouth after a very salty bill, which would have been fine if we had eaten like WOW with every dish. Obviously we won't be returning!

very good food, shame about the terrible service. with a reservation we had to wait outside, and even for the food, we had to wait a good forty minutes. furthermore, at the end of dinner, without even asking, they brought us the bill; honestly after making us wait so long, it also seems rude to me; since you were already there, couldn't you have made us close the place to us?

Highly recommended for those who want to eat real traditional Roman dishes. Really excellent, fast, welcoming staff and moderate prices. We will definitely return
Be the first to ReplyPerfect!
As the title suggests, everything was perfect starting from the welcome; Even though we hadn't booked and it was our first time, the girl at the entrance welcomed us as if we were long-time customers. We ordered an excellent platter of cured meats and cheeses and as a first course a really excellent carbonara and then finished in style with two amazing tiramisu! A must stop in Trastevere!
Be the first to ReplyDisappointment, not recommended
Very small place, you have to constantly get up to let people and waiters pass, there is always a queue for the bathroom, terrible carbonara and it should be the typical dish and the prices are very high. As a Sicilian, I am very disappointed in terms of the food, and also for my stay in the restaurant. The coffee was basically water. I do not recommend any Italian to go to this place, foreigners do as you want.

Friendly staff, young, kind and fast guys. Unfortunately the food was a bit disappointing, the fried artichoke was good while the cacio e pepe pasta and the carbonara were both without cheese: pecorino cheese not received. The prices are right!

The service was not pleasant, perhaps because we did not speak Italian. We had pasta carbonara and tripe. the carbonara was very salty and uninteresting, I didn't finish my dish, the tripe was bland, the tomato sauce was diluted with water. Big disappointment, for us it's at school canteen level.

Very good little address recommended by the backpacker, succulent dishes, delicious spritz, be careful to ask for an accompaniment with the second courses. Friendly staff but a little in a hurry to put the table back after us.

Nice place, pleasant surprise today. Had a great meal with a friend of mine, a delicious amatriciana and artichoke alla giudia
Be the first to ReplyCosy traditional restaurant. Friendly welcoming staff. Carbonara- delicious!!
Lovely little restaurant. Popular with local people. Really friendly staff who look after you. Delicious food! Book a table online if you want to eat at a popular time. You won’t regret it!
Be the first to ReplyBad service, average pasta, good pizza
Came here based on the great reviews. The waitress we had was quite rude and took a long time for service. They were not very accommodating to requests. My pasta amatriciana was ok but the worst out of all the restaurants I went to. My partner enjoyed his pizza carbonara very much. There was a very unusual selection of drinks.

We had this place recommended to us by a friend and had also read the many positive reviews on TA so were looking forward to the meal.
I can only go on what we experienced and it was absolutely awful. It was complete chaos in the restaurant and no one knew what they were doing.
It took ages to be served and drinks brought. When the starters turned up, the spaghetti carbonara pasta was not cooked properly at all. I mentioned it to the waitress who wasn’t happy at all and said that’s how it’s cooked in Italy. Now I know that’s not the case as we’ve been in Rome for a week and had various pasta dishes that have been cooked to perfection. She did swap it reluctantly and the next portion was only slightly more cooked. I just left saying anything more about it. The bruschetta my wife had was burnt but after the pasta experience, decided not to say anything.
The main course of steak that my wife had, had been requested “well done, no blood please”. When that turned up, she cut into it and the meat was bloody. I mentioned this to the waitress and she said well done does have blood! Obviously we know that isn’t true having had steak two nights earlier in La Scala, Trastevere and that was cooked to perfection. She reluctantly took it back to cook the meat for longer and meantime, my wife had her chips whilst I was eating my portion of meatballs, which were decent.
When the steak came back, it was still pink n places but my wife just ate it. I requested the bill and they had knocked off €1.50 service charge and left the other €1.50 charge on. When I explained the fact that we had ate our starters separately and our mains separately as well, then perhaps they could knock something off the bill given the dining experience that we had had. The waitress didn’t like this at all and started speaking in Italian to other customers by interrupting them and asking them if they like the pasta dish they were eating!!
We’ve never experienced anything like it at all and her attitude was you’ve ate it in the end, so you pay for it and not taking anything into account that we had experienced. The waitress was surly, rude and clearly had a chip on her shoulder.
This may have just been an off day for the restaurant given that the restaurant had been recommended to us, but we certainly will not be going back and would not recommend it to anyone else.
