I'll attempt to clear up the confusion about this place in
I'll attempt to clear up the confusion about this place in a brief fashion: NE chowder is next level, but it's not as thick as us west-coast folks are accustomed to-- trigger alert. The service is like the food; it comes in waves, going from outstanding to MIA, so the service is good on the average. Like all restaurants, if you go on a Saturday night, you will experience some turbulence. This place has legit food, and make sure you finish strong with the blondie. When I return I'll get the biggest serving of chowder, a hot lobster roll, two blondies and two homogeneous orders of oysters. Good luck!

We stopped for lunch one day and made reservations for dinner the next night! The food was INCREDIBLE. We got Jim both times and he was such a fantastic server. My husband and I were in LA on vacation and this experience stands out as one of higher points. So thank you Jim!

We ate here twice and had probably the best seafood meals (if not any kind of meal) of our lives there. Super fresh food--whether seafood or salads---amazing cocktails + desserts, and excellent service!!
Be the first to ReplyWow I must say, service there was amazing .
My boyfriend and daughter came there for the first time as a walk-in. They were busy so I highly recommend to reserve before you go. Anyways since we waited, the manager was very welcoming and made us feel at home and asked what my daughter likes to eat. When we we're finally seated she then right away gave my daughter a basket of fries , the waiter was awesome and knowledgeable about the menu and checked up on us from time to time...for excellent customer service we are definitely returning...oh food is amazing here, must get the sampler soup, you won't be disappointed!

My friend told me about the Mussels here and suggested we go together. Well she was spot on, the mussels were abundant, flavorful and oh so tender! She was so right! I ordered mine with marinara sauce while she opted for the white wine sauce. The fried calamari we ordered as an appetizer were good but to small to truly enjoy and exalt their resin for living. I will always return for the mussels and I dream of them everyday!

I found this place using the Michelin Guide app and saw that they were listed on there as a recommended place to eat. We decided, why not? I was absolutely blown away at the service and the food here. Something as simple as seafood stew or the clams & mussels dish was great. No more going to Water Grill or King's Fish House for me! The interior looked so cute with funny signs on the walls. I highly recommend this restaurant for any seafood lover. I will gladly drive from OC to eat here anytime I'm craving great seafood.
Be the first to ReplyCharming delicious seafood.
We had the smoked fish dip with house made saltines. Excellent flavor. The crackers in my opinion need to cook just a little crispier to hold and scoop the dip more effectively- a little soft. But delicious. Our scallops with herb oil were perfectly cooked. Sweet and tender. With a crisp Albariño so nice. Highly recommend the wilted spinach as a side so well done and seasoned. We also ordered the fingerlings unfortunately they were out but the fries were a-okay. Great service - note- bring a jacket there's a lot of breezy doorways and you may be seated in the outdoor heated patio.

We love Connie & Ted's!On Sunday we both had the Fried Chicken (Sunday special) - piping hot and so delicious. Love that if comes with a couple of their Parker Rolls . We started with Fried Calamari-very good, so flavorful and hot. Finished with a dessert we've not tried before-Sundae Funday. Great finish.
Be the first to ReplyFirst time here last night.
Ambiance was trendy and all the servers help each other! Love this! Everyone was super friendly ( love it)We ordered Lobster roll with a salad (I didn't like the salad at all) Mac and cheese and bread. Everything was very delightful in taste especially the lobster roll.. Amazing seating although I feel the portions aren't always the same as the one my child and I received. I ordered my usually lemon drop with Grey Goose because they don't carry Titos ( that's strange) any way you be the judge of the size. I would definitely return for the roll and try fries next time

Today was the first time we'd been here and it was delicious. We had a hot lobster roll, grilled calamari, peeled shrimp, and a Baja yellowtail fish. All in all the food was very good. I would give it 5 stars but our service was more obsessed with the table next to us, than with us and therefore, the place only gets 4 stars. The ambiance was very good, as the place was crowded. It was a solid Friday night and I'm sad that I'd only found out about this place now, but that's better than never. We shall return for sure and hope for better service as the food is worth enduring another over zealous waiter or waitress. Definitely check this place out if you've got a hunger for seafood.

Really enjoyed dinner, the downfall was the super rushed service and somewhat rude server. The rolls are worth the $9! While on the watery side I loved the New England clam chowder. Next time I could seriously just do those two items. The fried clam strips just tasted like breading the clams were so small. Fries good. Oysters were not great, one was pretty gritty like it wasn't cleaned well. At $44, I expected more from the halibut. It was good but the herb oil was so overpowering that all I could taste was pesto. The restaurant definitely seemed overpriced but I would return for the bread and soup.

Came here a few years ago and it was amazing came here tonight with four other people service was horrible I couldn't even get a drink menu never got my drink. My friend never got her main course and then they had the nerve to add on 20% gratuity for a party of five extremely disappointing and overpriced will not come back here again.
Be the first to ReplyYou need to try the fried fish sandwich.
It's spicy, crispy, and perfectly portioned. Also the burger is very good.
Be the first to ReplyConsistently delicious.
By this point, I've enjoyed a meal at C&T's about 4 times over the past 3 years. They still haven't missed. I've had the hook burger (9/10), the fish sandwich (9/10), the smoked fish dip (10/10), the chowder trio (8.5/10), the Portuguese stew (8.5/10), and a couple of their cocktails (born in east LA(?) 9/10 & hot blooded(?) 9/10). All excellent experiences, all worth the money. That brings me to last night.Spoiler alert: the streak continues.I tried one of the grilled fish dishes, in addition to the previously mentioned smoked fish dip. I chose the rock fish ($34) prepared with the herb butter. This came with (1) side, I chose the Mac n cheese. The fish was delicate & juicy, w/ perfectly seared skin. The herb butter was not at all overpowering, in fact, I can't imagine how it'd taste without the butter. It was a match made in heaven 10/10. The Mac n cheese continued that theme. The topping was crispy and flavorful. The noodles themselves contained unexpected nuances that belied its appearance 9.5/10.The meal was finished with their famous brown sugar Blondie a la mode. It was very delicious. Buttery decadence throughout. I found it to be the slightest bit too sweet by itself, but the ice cream balanced it a bit. Would recommend. 8/10.If there was an award for consistency, perhaps a "least likely to disappoint" award, this place deserves it.Sugar Bear approved!

A seafood joint in West Hollywood is pretty priceless and generally do enjoy myself here when I make it over. I love the three types of chowder and the gluten free options on the lobster rolls when I'm with sensitive tummy friends- so that's a huge plus. Food isn't mind blowing but price wise, I think it's up on $$$ that side. The service is generally good especially the host, they just get you in a good mood.
Be the first to ReplyConnie and Ted's is the less fancy step sibling of Michael
Connie and Ted's is the less fancy step sibling of Michael Cimarusti's Providence, and it's still very good. I went there a few weeks back to celebrate an occasion and unfortunately the bouillabaisse daily special had run out, which is something I was especially looking forward to. Nonetheless it was a lovely meal and the cocktails were tasty as well. The service didn't disappoint either.

As a visitor to this magnificent city, it is relatively easy to find lovely restaurants set in bucolic settings with wonderful food. But, in my opinion, as a world traveler and someone who lives to eat, it is unusual to be welcomed into a restaurant by someone as charming and gracious as Leanne. At Connie & Teds last night, we were brought to our table and immediately a server came to take our drink order. We then ordered the best calamari that I have ever eaten and the fish & chips.... excellent! During dinner, Leanne and her servers stopped by the table to make sure that everything was to our liking and always with a big smile on everyone's face, as if they were at a party, not at work, which made me feel so comfortable. I am looking forward to my next meal there because there are several things I still want to try! Let me reiterate: it is my opinion that while food is important, the people cooking it, serving it, and owning it make the experience memorable and delicious. - Gail Kichler, Ohio.

No one in Los Angeles is cooking seafood with integrity like this! The proof is in the ingredients and execution. See for yourself!
Be the first to ReplyThe raw selection is great and the oysters are fantastic.
Especially liked the phantom creek. The fish options are not great, sustainably picked but kinda bottom of the tasty options of the ocean. Odd that pacific lobster and pacific Dungeness crab are not on the menu, a shame. I'll be back, but hope they improve the fish options.
