The duck curry was a star.
Ate alone, however the staff were very accommodating and up for a chat. Worth a visit

Husband and I went to Coda hoping to try the tasting menu that they displayed on the website. We were disappointed to find out that there wasn't a tasting menu for smaller groups (which is fair) but I wish they'd made it clearer on their website. The server offered to help us choose a mix of dishes so we could try everything which was super kind of him. The food was delicious and we got to try items we wouldn't ordinarily have ordered. FYI it's in a small alleyway next to Lucy Liu - look up for the sign!

More of an intimate vibe than the other restaurants nearby. It's a basement location, but they do a good job with the space you forget that you're in a basement. They have great service and lots dishes to share. I recommend the pork/prawn spring rolls, yellow fin tuna and pineapple fried rice. All very tasty dishes. Prices are a bit on the high side, but the quality of the food is good.

Clams a standout which is hard to pick in a star studded menu

My friends and I went here three times during our stay in Melbourne. Everything was perfect. From the excellent food, perfect cocktails, cozy ambiance, music selection and volume. Highly recommend!

Coda's atmosphere had an indoor/outdoor industrial feel to it, which brought about a very unique, cool vibe. The Vietnamese fusion dishes were all incredible. We're so happy we stumbled across this place! I highly recommend it if you're looking for a place that isn't too crowded on a Sunday night (which is when we went).
Be the first to ReplyA nice restaurant.
Another excellent Melbourne modern Asian spot. Came here with old friends and had a lovely time. My opening negroni set the night up most satisfactorily. I didn't concentrate as much as I should have on the names of the dishes we had, but they were all very tasty. The highlight was a calamari dish that was strikingly fine. The Alsace riesling we enjoyed was as good a riesling as I've ever had. A recommended Pinot noir blend wasn't quite as well received. Service was excellent overall from our greeting on entry right through the meal to exit. Pleasingly, we weren't hurried on at any stage as there appeared to be no formal second sitting. Not a cheap night, but certainly that we enjoyed immensely.

Well known and for good reason, service, food and wine are 1st class.Great atmosphere supported by the Coda team who are obviously proud of their business. We tried multiple dishes and all were superb, compliment by a glass of champagne for starters and wine during the main.Mmm, seems I didn't take any pics - might just have to go back then ;)

Had a lovely lunch here with plenty of tempting treats to choose from. The shared dining menu give you the opportunity to try much of what is on offer, with my favourites being the kingfish, octopus and the peanut butter parfait. While the dishes are tasty and presented in creative ways, the downside is the final bill - Coda is on the pricey side.

Chin Chin may get the raves from visitors but the locals know that Coda offers the best Asian fusion dishes in Melbourne. The duck curry is a must but many of the other dishes were just fantastic and the service was outstanding. The beautiful people were all there and the ambience was so enjoyable we couldn't have asked for a better intro to the Melbourne foodie scene. Nice job!

A hip, modern Asian fusion restaurant with tapas style plates. Casual vibe with a mix of people dressed casually to dressed up for a date night out. Hip hop music was a tad loud - I had to lean over the table a few times to hear what my husband was saying (and he was talking pretty loudly). Great service, extensive wine list, and food delivery timed well. Plates are a good size for tapas style. I took off a star because some dishes were good, but not amazing. The squid on the papaya salad was quite burnt - couldn't really appreciate the squid texture bc it was so charred on the sides. We also got the fried rice roll with crab. The roll itself was good, but I couldn't taste the sauce they served on the side at all. Even when I poured additional sauce over the roll, the taste of the sauce didn't come out. That said, the O'Connor (beef) eye fillet was really good, as was the meringue dessert. They were both also very pleasing to the eye!
