Great food and service
We went here before the theatre show and the food was phenomenal. Service was so good and we really enjoyed it. Dominik -thank you
Be the first to ReplyLove it!
The place is already very pleasant with its very colorful and not โkitschyโ setting. Itโs lively and the servers are all very pleasant. But of course the experience comes above all from the kitchen! It is very very good, cooked and subtle in the sea flavors for some very spicy dishes. In short, we all loved it!
Be the first to ReplyTastier than Dishoom, Splendid service!
A friend recommended this. Pre and post theatre set menus start at 24 GPB. The server offered to take $ off our check when she noticed I barely touched it. Spice level is not watered down, nor indicated on the menu. Do reserve online. The host was happy to switch our reservation by 15 mins. Upon request. The shrimp dish and the shepherdโs pie ( surcharge) were fantastic!
Be the first to ReplyDifficult to understand how a venue can provide such dreadful service
We went in a group of 8, so had to choose from a set menu, as it would ensure a more speedy service. Given that, I dread to think how long it would have taken had we chose from an a La carte menu. We sat in small upstairs room, with another group. I think the alarm bells started to ring, when the drinks took 20 minutes to arrive. From that moment on, it was as though they had employed a group of tortoises to bring up food and drinks. Our complaints regarding the slow speed, just fell on deaf ears. One of our party said he has never experienced such slow, appalling service. Itโs a shame, because the food was good. Nice and tasty. I would suggest you only book, if you can afford 5 hours for a dinner and 2 drinks !!
Be the first to ReplyDelicious and mediocre food, poor service, cramped tables!
Summary: Some of the food was excellent, service could be greatly improved. It was a mixed experience for us at Cinnamon Bazaar. Right from the start, the service left us desiring for better experience, more politeness, and courteousness. Even the person who greeted us when we entered and asked if we had a booking sounded slightly rude and not polite the way he asked. Of course we had a booking. They were kind enough to seat us earlier than our booking time. However, the table we were given felt tight and squeezed. We asked for a different table to no avail. The restaurant tried to pack in as many people as possible. We were rushed a bit to order the main courses by a waiter, Tanveer. We were still having our starters and were not quite ready. We asked for a few minutes and he sounded a bit irate. When we finally ordered and I asked for the rice to be served separately on the side, Tanveer kept insisting that it comes with the dish. I kept insisting to have rice in a separate bowl. The main courses arrived fairly quickly. Two of the dishes were absolutely delicious (kingfish curry and shepherd's pie with lamb). But the prawns dish was not as good as it could have been. The worst was the okra dish. The rice my friend ordered did not arrive. When asked, Tanveer said that my friend could have the white rice which I asked to be served on the side because I wasn't going to have rice. We found Tanveer's attitude a bit rude. But she had ordered lemon rice. It took them a while to bring her lemon rice. The waiter failed to ask my friend how spicy she wanted or failed to mention that the okra dish is EXTREMELY spicy with whole chilies that looked just like the fried okra which was overfried, lacked taste, and didn't absorb the flavours of the sauce as it should have. Another waiter who was kinder decided to offer as free dessert but we declined. He took the dish of the final bill as my friend could not eat the dish. Overall, we are not eager to go back. We'd much rather enjoy Dishoom which has good service and great food.
Be the first to ReplyFood poisoning - week off work
Not a very friendly welcome, plonked in the middle isle of seats despite lots of empty ones in the edges. Asked to move to a free corner table. Was told no sorry that is reserved for a party of 5, yet it was setup for 4. Once we sat the waiter added another place setting to the corner table. But guess what? a party of 4 arrived and sat down who seemed very friendly with the waiter. Considering you have to give your credit card details for the reservation, the restaurant and the staff have gone downhill over the last year or so, much like Cinnamon Soho did before it closed. And to top it all off myself and a colleague had the same starter/main and had stomach trouble the next day. I had extreme food poisoning and was off work for a week in agony. To be honest - itโs on the decline, go somewhere like Dishoom for a better meal.
Be the first to ReplyA calm and airy Indian oasis in the heart of the city
Treated to a surprise special birthday treat afternoon tea by my daughter I had no idea that such a thing existed; a high tea featuring my favourite food of all; dahi puri Chaat (pani puri). and other Chaat dishes eg samosas served Chaat style with chickpeas and yogurt. What a thoughtful surprise made even better by being in a beautiful location in an airy and plant filled glass roofed building with a plethora of decorative details. Service unobtrusively attentive and welcoming. Food fantastic as was the spiced masala tea. Even the loos were lovely with colour matched tile grout to paintwork (cinnamon, naturally) also loved the brass framed Indian mirrors hung on vintage Indian cotton fabric. So many hand painted details too numerous and lovely to mention. Could not recommend highly enough. Loved it.

Be the first to ReplyPerfect for a pre theatre dinner
My Husband and I had an early evening meal here before going to the theatre, and the food was incredible! Copra patties are delicious Tandoori chicken malai tikka is a must try Lamb rogan Josh shep pie my husband wonโt stop taking about it!! Service was good, experience was enjoyable! Would definitely visit again, great location in the heart of Covent Garden
Be the first to ReplyLovely place great atmosphere
Had the set menu, food was tasty and hot. Jungle chicken curry was delicious, I could have eaten it all night! Lamb shepherds pie was so tender. Service was good even though they were busy. No complaints and we will be back.
Be the first to ReplyDominik was the best!
We had a large birthday celebration on the first floor and it was the most amazing Indian food and best service in London - thank you Dominik!
Be the first to ReplyAverage food for higher-than-average price
Came here for dinner with a friend, was excited about the Michelin rating from a few years back. The food was generally good, or at the very least perfectly decent. My friend did find a piece of unrendered fat in her turkey tikka - this definitely put a damper on their enjoyment of the meal. I tried the jackfruit curry, rice, and daal, all of which were good but not great for the price we were paying. The atmosphere, decor, and service were all quite nice, but overall I would not say that this restaurant is worth returning to for me. This could be a matter of personal preference, but I just wasnโt wowed by this food as I would like to be when paying such a price. This is not to say that the restaurant is bad by leaving a 3-star review - it is simply average.

Excellent location, tasty dishes, nice decor, friendly and polite staff, food arrived on time. Looking forward to go back.
Be the first to ReplyTasty Indian Fusion food
Great food with great service and ambience. The location is perfect for travellers seeing central London. Had masala tea after the food and it was fresh and kadak.
Be the first to ReplyPoor food, poor ingredients
Ordered three dishes - two arrived after 45 minute wait, one of them a messy grey slop of unidentified mush masquerading as paneer tikka followed by seasonal greens - limp, water soaked, tasteless inedible. The third dish never arrived and was removed from the bill. Awful food that doesn't even begin to match the menu description.
Be the first to ReplyTerrible service. Would not reccomend the afternoon tea.
We visisted for the Indian afternoon tea on a Saturday lunchtime. We were a party of 9 with four children aged between 3 and 12. We had phoned ahead to request that some of the sandwiches were made without chilli to cater for the children. We were assured that this was possible. When we arrived we were served the masala chai which was nice. When we came to order we were told by the waiter that food could not be altered. We had to speak to the manager who was called Anna who appeared to remember the earlier phone call. We then waited for almost an hour for the sandwiches that were part of the afternoon tea. Parties around us who had been in the restaurant less time than us had all been served. The children in our group were hungry and getting restless. After asking where our food was twice the manager explained that due to our special requsts it was taking longer. There was no apology offered and no further drinks were offered. When the sandwiches eventually arrived the children's ones did contain the chilli sauce which we had asked to be removed. The 3 year old in our group was upset as the food was too spicy for her. Again we received no apology. Eventually they provided some plain sandwiches for the children after almost an hour and a half of arriving. When we asked to order more tea we were told that our 90 minute time limit for our tea had expired and we couldn't have anymore. At no stage did any of the staff ask us if we wanted more tea. No apology was offered for the delay or anything. I would not recommend this place and I would not visit again. The restaurant was busy and understand that mistakes can happen but no apology was offered. Everyone else in the restaurant seemed to get thier food in good time and received good service. It was only our table that seemed to have been treated badly.
Be the first to ReplyGreat Food, Interesting Menu and Good Service
Came here with a friend whilst visiting London for the weekend. Very buzzy atmosphere, greeted by friendly staff. Interesting menu & different a lot of Indian restaurants I have been too. To start we had a selection of Samosas and a vegetarian lentil based starter in a pastry case - both very tasty. For mains we both had a lamb curry and naan - spicing was excellent. We both had a great evening & I have already been recommending friends to go and try. One I would go back to.
Be the first to ReplyFriend milestone birthday
On Saturday 25 Feb 16 of us celebrated a bday party for my friend milestone bday. It was great event. We had a fun time. Fadil the Manager & Masud in charge of the day went to great effort to make us feel welcome. They allowed us to have the event for extra time which was awesome and bring our own bday cake. Last minute addition to the party size was welcome. That was superb. The High chai was great with yummy sandwiches. Maybe for a high chai โ๏ธ we need to have option of 2 chai instead of one. Refill allowed only for 1.5 hour. As place was extremely busy service a bit slow. The food was yummy except for chaat papdi which was hard. The sweets for high chai were not appetising. MERCI Cinammon B staff inc Fadil & Masud for hosting us n making it a date to remember. Bises
Be the first to ReplyReally (really) good
We had a great meal with my family and a couple of friends. Great food freshly made, super tasty and perfect size portions. My favourite were the samosas and the saddle of lamb. My 7 year old said that also the mango lassi was perfect! Will definitely go back.
Be the first to ReplyOutstanding
Had a family dinner here and is was outstanding some great flavours and selections available, I can't recommend it enough, a must try. Prices very reasonable also for London.
Be the first to ReplyOutstanding food, meh service.
Food was absolutely fantastic! Watermelon chaat was outstanding as was the paneer masala. I think the service team could do a little better, felt very meh, and the restaurant needs a little refurb as it looks grubby but not sure that would put me off returning as the food was so good!
Be the first to ReplyTeam Summer Event - A MUST VISIT!
AMAZING food, VIBRANT ambience and EXCELLENT service.. We had a team summer event upstairs at the Khari Baoli Private dining room. The whole experience from right from the time we got there was simply spectacular. We were greeted with a glass of champagne, followed by canapes, bowl food for mains and scrumptious desserts. The idea was to be able to mingle with the team rather than have a sit down meal. The food went down really well as the team got to try different Indian food. The cocktail menu was simply amazing. Personally I would recommend the Cinnamon Bellini and Gin Julep if you are looking for something not too sweet. The service was fantastic and huge thanks to Hari Nagaraj, Reggie and the team for taking such good care of us and making our evening so memorable. We cannot wait to return!
Be the first to ReplyReal gem
This small but vibey restaurant close to the heart of Covent Garden is a real gem Every dish on the menu was new to me and every dish we had was astonishing I could happily have chosen with a blindfold and a pin Wine was excellent and reasonably price Service friendly and unhurried Canโt wait to go back
Be the first to ReplyExcellent Indian food.
Looking for an early evening meal in the Covent Garden area suitable for a vegetarian. Managed to get a table in the Cinnamon Bazaar and glad we did. As it happened we all chose vegetarian options. Possible the best Indian meal that weโve eaten. Delicious, well presented with excellent service. Very happy.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food and service!
Great food and service! We came here with a friend, looking for some indian food, as we were in Covent Garden, noticed a lovely cosy place in Maiden Lane and we decided to give it to tryโฆ best decision ever! Service was great, great cocktails and the food super tasty! A special thanks to our young waiter from Lithuania (name should be Gedrius) and the other waiter from India (unfortunately I donโt remember his name). We will certainly be back!
