Empanadas were SO GOOD, crispy and rich without being too
Empanadas were SO GOOD, crispy and rich without being too heavy. Pollo was also very good- chicken was cooked well but the rice was the star, fantastic sweetness to it and pairs great with the sauce. Very filling even for 2 people. Overall, great food and atmosphere!
Be the first to ReplyNice cozy spot with great food.
A bit pricey but the food and drinks are good. The ambiance and atmosphere are nice too! Went on a Saturday night. We took an early 5:30pm dinner reservation thinking it would probably be empty. Nope. Ppl were waiting outside to be let in. It was pretty full pretty quick. We enjoyed ourselves. I took my 11 year old daughter for those with children.
Be the first to ReplyCasa Ora is a gastronomical delight.
We came here on a whim and having never had Venezuelan food, I had no expectations. The menu is definitely on the pricier end, but a lot of the options sounded interesting. We ultimately decided to the pre fixe 4 course and that was the best decision because I got to try a lot of what I wanted. I started with the empanadas, which comes with ALL 4 flavors--if you're following along, I hate making choices lol. The beef, chicken, and cheese ones were expected, but monkfish empanada is something I never considered, but definitely worth another bite. I really enjoyed the sauces they brought out with the appetizers as well. Next we had the ceviche and beef tongue. Both lovely, but I'm definitely partial to the ceviche. Only thing though, it didn't come with chips and I love a good ceviche/chips combo. For the main entree I had the Lobster. It was a savory, warm bisque filled with different types of seafood. There was also a crispy topping that gave it a bit of a crunch. Definitely a fave for me and I would love to know how to make a dish like this. Lastly was one of the best desserts ever--the Cuatro Leches, which I presume is their take of tres leches. It's not as soft and overwhelmed with milk like you typically find in tres leches, but I personally appreciated that. It had a nice structure to it, sweetness and texture from the toppings, balanced with creaminess of the milk. Honestly I can't stop thinking about this meal. Our waiter was very patient especially as we asked a lot of questions about the menu. We ended up closing out the restaurant, but never felt rushed. It's very dimly lit, which I understand the vibe but can be kinda hard to read the menu. Overall would highly highly recommend this place!
Be the first to ReplyAmazing food, great service, awesome ambiance.
Felt very cozy and elegant at the same time. Food was delicious and flavorful. I had the beet gnocchi along with a multitude of starters and appetizers. All of their options are worth a try. Presentation of each plate was noticeable and admirable. Our server Ana was awesome and helped us enjoy our evening experience. Will be back soon!
Be the first to ReplyHighly recommend!!! We order delivery from them frequently.
It's my husband's favorite treat after working hard all week long. We always order the same thing. I'll take pics next time! Try their brisket!
Be the first to ReplyThe food was expensive and did not live up to the hype.
The food was mediocre and priced inaccurately. The wait staff was attentive and the atmosphere was cute and it felt like you were paying for the aesthetics more than quality of food. Empanadas: 3.5/5 Cuatro De Leches: 2/5 Passion Fruit Mousse: 2/5 Chicken rice:3/5
Be the first to ReplyDeceptively large space inside, and absolutely beautiful.
Previously only ordered takeout, but came for brunch. The ceviche was delicious- refreshing and a nice unexpected ingredient with the passionfruit that balances surprisingly well. Lots of options for all dietary needs. Cocktails were great too.
Be the first to ReplyWow! The food was incredible.
In all honesty, we never got passed shared dishes/apps because we kept going ordering more. The tequeños are fantastic and so are the empanadas. I also could not stop eating the guasacaca. And do save room for dessert. My mom makes incredible quesillo and this may have topped it. Best of all, this was probably one of the most affordable restaurants for the quality of food. $52 pp for drinks, food, and dessert. That doesn't happen much anymore in NY for such high quality food. Will definitely be back.
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful restaurant.
Came on a busy night for a birthday dinner, and the service was a little less attentive than we'd like. The cocktails were really good. We had the empanadas and plantain chips as an appetizer, they were good. Had the pollo and seafood stew as our entrees. They were very hearty. We got the cuarto leches, also very rich. It was soaked in rum. Would be back again to try other options.

Came here on Valentine's Day 2024 expecting good food and classy ambiance. The food was decent but unfortunately I can't comment on much else. We had to wait over an hour for our table. When we did get one, we were seated outside (we had requested an indoor table and were even told we would get one, only to find out that our table was given to another party due to miscommunication). The table outdoors was one of the three that did NOT have a working heat lamp, and it was freezing! They had just one poor girl in the front fielding tons of customers and complaints. Our waitress also took forever to come, and didn't take our order until we specifically asked for her. The food also took a while to come, and in the end we ended up packing one course to go because it was so late at night. All in all, a not so nice V day experience.
Be the first to ReplyAbsolutely love this place.
I came here for a brunch early last year (2022) and really loved the food, service and ambience. My husband and I loved it so much that when we thought about places for a wedding celebration, we looked into Casa Ora. We were so happy we did because our wedding was magical. Rachel, the event manager was extremely helpful. She helped us with the menu, and referrals for cake and floral vendors. On the day of the wedding, everything ran smoothly. The food was again, wonderful, service, incredible and the atmosphere was perfect for what we wanted. Everyone couldn't stop talking about the food, drinks and ambience. We all enjoyed ourselves and I have had several friend go back for dinner, etc. I can't thank the team enough for making this day as special as it was. Thank you thank you, thank you!!!

Came here for a friend's birthday and was pleasantly surprised at how nice the experience was. From the minute I stepped foot in the restaurant, I was greeted by friendly staff. The interior is decorated tastefully and beautifully and it wasn't too crowded either (important criteria for NYC). I ordered arepas with pork and they were absolutely delicious. Warm, soft, and flavorful, and they paired nicely with the two sauces.Would definitely come back again just for the arepas.

Choosing Casa Ora as the spot to celebrate my boyfriend's 30th birthday was the right decision. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we had an amazing time. We were seated at a spacious and private corner of the restaurant with ample room to spread out and have a good time. I'm new to Venezuelan food, so I was excited to experiment with some new flavors. I ordered their Baby Shark, which contrary to the name, is not baby shark. It was a monkfish dish w/ plantains, coconut milk, aji dulce paste, and jasmine rice. The dominance of the coconut milk and aji dulce paste really surprised me. The dish was very sweet, which I don't usually prefer in a main course. The monk fish's smooth texture shone in the dish, beautiful presentation of all the different elements blended cohesively to deliver a unique culinary experience like no other. I could tell that the dish was well cooked but it was too sweet for my liking. I found myself eating lots of the fragrant jasmine to offset the sweetness. I also ordered a ginger lime mocktail which surprised me with its potent zing. I felt like a few sips of it were enough to knock out any brewing viruses in my throat. Finally, we ordered the quatro leches cake to close out the celebration. The staff brought it out with a candle, for my boyfriend's obligatory birthday wish. The cake was dripping with all the milks it had soaked up, and melt in your mouth although the texture was not as soft as I expected. It was still delicious.Another surprise came when we looked at the bill and saw that they had comped the dessert as a courtesy for our birthday celebration. Much love to the staff and chef for a wonderful celebration!
Be the first to ReplyGreat service!! All staff was very well trained and polite.
Chic interior design. Attention to detail with Venezuelan interior decor. Food was well cooked with nice presentation. Only reason I did not give 5 stars is because I wish there was more sauce to go with all the grains/vegetables on my dish. (I ordered the monkfish)
Be the first to ReplyLovely brunch here.
The staff were very friendly and attentive. We enjoyed everything we had- the only thing I would have liked is my dish to be a little hotter. It certainly wouldn't stop me going back to try more dishes. The decor was nice and cozy too.
Be the first to ReplyThis place was great and the service was amazing.
We went on a Thursday at 6pm and it was pretty empty. There was a very intimate setting. The decor looked great. The food was amazing. We had arepitas and they were the bomb. My husband had the brisket and I had the snapper. They were both soooo good. Sorry for the half eaten pics. We couldn't wait to dig in after the arepitas. Im not much of a drinker but the drinks were pretty good. I had the lime in the coconut. Could use a little less ice. Lastly, the cuatro leches. I wanted to love it but it was a no for me. Especially when I can make amazing tres leches myself. My husband was so disappointed because he's gotten used to me making tres leches and having it moist with the milk. This just tasted like cake with a weird after taste but next time we will try the flan.

My friends and I came on a Friday evening around 8 pm for dinner. Originally, they told us they couldn't seat us since we were a party of 7 for another hour, however, they had an outdoor space right in front of the restaurant that they offered to us. This outdoor space was really well built out, since it was colder than usual, they also had IKEA blankets and heat lamps above to help combat that. The service was slow. Incredibly slow to the point that it almost felt ridiculous. It took more than 15 minutes for the waitress to get to our table to order our drinks, appetizers and entrees. We ended up ordering our food all together, appetizers with entrees due to the fact that they were taking so long. In addition, to the slow wait in ordering our food, the food also took the longest time. I wish I was exaggerating BUT it took an hour to get our appetizers and entrees. Besides the long wait in getting our food, the food itself was good. I ordered the tequenos and the seafood paella. The tequenos were fresh and hot, and excellent with the sauces! The seafood paella that had octopus, squid, lobster, and shrimp, was alright. The flavor wasn't quite there, however, it was a generous serving size even though it may not look like it. Overall, the food was good across the table. This is a good spot for a cocktail or a place to catch up with friends if you don't mind the long wait for your food!

Ugh it's so hard to say anything bad about Casa Ora because of its great atmosphere and decorations. But we came here to eat and drink first of all so I cannot force to send a 4. Starting with the good: my friend and family liked the desert very much. The semi negative is about the food. Baby Shark dish was mediocre and so was the sampler appetizer. I ordered the green salad and the shrimp. Was expecting the shrimped to be grilled but the steamed version was not bad. The server did missed a drink but the staff quickly fixed it. Should be a 3.5 and I feel bad to decide between 3 and 4.
Be the first to ReplyWent here for dinner last night.
Overall the experience was great. Service: 4/5; our server was excellent. Attentive, kind and super personable.Food: a bit corn heavy for my taste but I'd go with 3.5-4/5Ambiance: Had a very 60s aesthetic. Lounge-like feel, especially, further in the back. We had a couple of appetizers (corn dumplings with tomato sauce and ground beef): empanadas (these were great - comes in 4 varieties); scallop (main) and the brisket/skillet. All accompanied by a bottle of Grenacha!Food overall (I thought) needed more flavor/spices (I don't mean spicier) - the sauces that accompanied the empanadas were perfect. Great experience and definitely recommend!
Be the first to ReplyAuthentic Venezuelan restaurant.
Very nice bartender but very weak drinks. Space is charming. Our waitress must of had a bad day not friendly at all. The asado negro for 2 stole the show. Shrimp appetizer pretty tasty. Red snapper also good. Hallaca and empanadas were very good..

A truly underrated hidden gem a little further out in Williamsburg. It was my first time trying Venezuelan food, and I figured this highly rated Michelin-recognized spot wouldn't disappoint. The interior is dark but warm, great for a date night. The prices are a bit higher to reflect the quality, so I opted for just an entree--the red snapper (I was about to get scallops but the waitress graciously told me it's the smallest entree on the menu!). The flavor was amazing! They snuck some cheese in which is why I think I enjoyed it so much and there's not a whole lot of dairy-free options on the menu. But the green sauce and fish were amazing. I didn't get any drinks but I'll probably be back for drinks and to try empanadas.
Be the first to Replyfood was very good and well prepared.
the sopressata was the best bite along with the bone marrow. definitely want to come back in the future!
Be the first to ReplyGood food.
Not fantabulous...like some other places in Brooklyn. Empanadas and salad good. Fish dish good. Drinks good. Nothing really mind or soul blowing. Got crowded and servers seemed not to be able to keep up but we're attentive and gave menu suggestions. Social distancing totally out the window here like in most NY places so if that's important - go early

Delicious food, amazing ambience and accommodating for larger groups. We enjoyed a variety of dishes and the drinks were on point.

Amazing ambiance and aesthetics of the restaurant! I really enjoyed all the food here. I've tried many different horchatas and this restaurant by far makes the best one. Definitely must get the empanadas and the chicken rice dish here. Will most likely come back!
