Carthay Circle Restaurant Anaheim Reviews from The Last Year
not my favorite fine dining in the parks but still an
not my favorite fine dining in the parks but still an unique experience. mirrored after the theater in which walt premiered the first ever color animated film- snow white and the 7 dwarfs, the theater offers multiple dining rooms and even an outdoor patio overlooking the DCA fountain plaza. it's the luck of the draw to find out where you're placed. initially we thought the main dining room would be great, but it felt like there is some venting issues where the vent was making a loud airplane turbine noise the entire time, i can't imagine sitting through that the entire meal. we were off to maybe what's considered the oscars room? adjacent to the patio. it was nice but there's no sense of privacy as every conversation echoes through the room. food was ok- salmon and rice was a little undercooked. the parker house roll and the mickey hazelnut pop tho, will definitely come back for those. drinks were ok, albeit the full bar. again, still a nice experience.
$16 for two meatballs? Get over yourself guys.
I know your Disney and I know you're in LA but you're going too far with us. Eight dollars a meatball is ridiculous anywhere
Insulting
This is a very fancy restaurant. The staff was mostly friendly, very knowledgeable about the menu items, and very quick. Except, when we first sat down, before we were all even at the table and situated, the hostess asked us to hand over our napkin rings. We all had the impression that they were afraid we would take them. If that’s the case, it would be better to not even use the napkin rings. We all felt insulted. I’m not sure if that set the mood or if we just weren’t very hungry, but we ordered small plates, basically appetizers. They were small for the cost, so we didn’t stay for a full dinner. The restaurant was beautiful and a really nice place, it just didn’t work for us that day.
Restaurant located inside the California Adventure park
Restaurant located inside the California Adventure park that has an elegant, sophisticated and classical with a magical touch of Disney. This is a place where you can relax and take a break from the chaos of the crowds and park. The seats near the entrance are round tables so it can be very tight if you have more than three people in your group with all the drinks, foods and silverwares. Other than that, the service is excellent as the server does not only do a great job serving the foods but also gives fun facts about Walt Disney and the restaurant. "Eat with your eyes first" is a perfect fit for their presentation. Every dishes are an art and it carries to the flavors. The food selection can be quite unique since they use ingredients that you don't usually have it together or not at all but trust me, it works beautifully. The flavors bursts in your mouth and everything is balanced so well.

Our server tonight was Scotty definitely the best party of this experience. We ordered the fried shrimp for appetizer which was the perfect balance of savory and spicy. For entrees we ordered the pork chop and lamb chop. Both were mediocre and very heavy tastes of orange zest, to the point of I could only taste orange peel on both entrees. We had tiramisu for dessert. Tequila daisy, an old fashion and Pinot noir for alcoholic beverages. The overall food/alcoholic beverages quality and taste was a two star. Five stars for our server Scotty.
Ambiance is great, service is fantastic, food.
..not great. Ordered the thick-cut porkchop and it was horribly dry. Very disappointed considering that it's their signature dish.
Service is terrible.
Server Danny kept us waiting for 15 minutes. The table next to us just got seated and their server is already telling the them today's special. It was so nice of her to help our table. Thank you, Megan. I asked Danny for hot water. This is what I got - iced water. Hot water came 40 minutes later after we reminded him. Along with appetizers. But bread is still not here. Later on, the supervisor apologized on behalf of Danny. I don't think she needed to. Danny had plenty of time to chat up a storm with the table next to us about travels to Europe. He was so loud that our table could not even carry on a conversation about what to order. Two other staff had to apologize on his behalf. This is a failure of one person's poor attitude that's affected the whole team. Gave me a miserable birthday dinner. Completely opposite of all the other Disneyland experiences we've had. Much like another reviewer said. Can't help but think discrimination.
This was such a great experience.
My girlfriends and I came here to celebrate someone's birthday. We had reservations for 5 but 6 girls actually ended up coming. We told the server of the situation and said they will see what they can do. The host accommodated our group of 6. On top of that, the service here is top notch. I didn't eat that much bc I got the sip and savor prior. But I'd def come back to try their other drinks and food!
Loved the ambience, quiet and relaxing.
Small plates all around. Favorite dish was the one I didn't think I wanted which was the salad. Very little arugula, and lots of other ingredients. Service was spot on. Very attentive. Wouldn't come here with the kids based on the price point.

Finally got a reservation for dinner, food was delicious, had the 16oz pork chop and it was perfect. Even better than the food was our server Holly from Chino,Ca. She made our dinner nearly magical and set the bar for others to follow. Wish I wasn't so full and had room for desert but then that gives me an excuse for next time.
Beautiful & lovely restaurant in DCA.
Loved all the interior decors and the chandelier. All the staffs were great, excellent service. The food were amazing, everything turned out delicious. It was a great celebration dinner at Carthay Circle with my husband.
Freezing cold Carthay Circle
The temperature inside the restaurant was freezing, the air conditioning was on full although it was cold outside and going dark. When we asked if they could turn it down we were told it would take an hour and a half. The food was poor, main course was just the meat with no vegetables or sides for nearly $50
Carthay Circle had the ugliest and worst tasting entree I have ever had
I was very much looking forward to dinner at Carthay Circle but I was greatly disappointed with our experience. We ordered the Parker House rolls, which were delicious and exceedingly overpriced at $14 for 6 rolls. The menu seemed very limited. I selected the turkey schnitzel which had a cranberry chutney and some sort of stuffing. The plating was incredibly ugly, not one green thing on the plate, just two slabs of schnitzel with chunks of stuffing hiding underneath. The schnitzel was bland, bland, bland. I had to POUR salt on it to get any kind of flavor. The only good thing I could say about it was that it was warm. And it was also very overpriced at about $44. We had a discount coupon and it still hurt to pay about $60 per person for the worst meal I have ever had. This is my fifth time eating here and every other occasion has been lovely. The ambiance is lovely, but you can’t serve dog food to people and then overcharge them on top of it. This must be the new Disney way. The chef at Carthay Circle should be deeply ashamed.
Disappointing food, horrible service
I decided to book this restaurant for dinner for my daughter’s first birthday , which we were celebrating at Disneyland. Gross error. We had booked two reservations at the same time for 5 and 4 people. Although we were not expecting to be seated together we requested it. We were informed they would try their best. I asked if we could add a cake as dessert since it was my daughter’s birthday and I had not included it in the reservation. The answer of the person at the desk was “we don’t offer complimentary cakes”. I never asked for a complimentary cake, and I found her tone and assumption offensive. We waited for over one hour to be seated, no updates or apology for the delay. The two parties were not seated together. Although we did not expect this to be accommodated at 7 pm, it would have been a nice gesture at almost 8:30 pm when we were taken to our table, and noticed how there were not many clients coming back to the tables that were being cleaned. The food was mediocre. The only person that seemed to enjoy her food was my mother (party of 5). We were checked upon a total of zero times during our dinner (no asking about food, more drinks, water refills, etc). We left without having dessert. If you want to waste some money, this is a great place to do so. If you are looking for a nice dinner with an enjoyable atmosphere, I’d recommend looking somewhere else
Outstanding Treat
This is an exquisite fine dining Restaurant located in California Adventure Park. It will be pricy but SO worth it! I really enjoyed the Duck Confit & mushroom crepe as an appetizer. Mai Tai’s are the BEST here🍹❤️. Try the Scallops or really anything on the Entree menu❤️😍
Family Dinner at Carthay
This is a beautiful restaurant. It is a classic. They are pictures on the wall of Walt Disney at opening nights of movies. The food and service (Michael Q) were excellent. Server was very attentive. One of the more expensive restaurants at Disney - main course runs around $46. The food was good.
Nice Ambiance - Too Expensive for What You Get
Ambiance was great. We were lucky that for a while we were the only ones in the room where we were seated. The benefit of an early dinner time. We were not lacking for service. Our server was actually around a bit too much to be honest. But she was nice and polite and made sure we had everything we needed. The food was fine. We enjoyed it all. But really let’s be honest it was very expensive. For three of us the total was about $225 including 2 of us having one alcoholic drink each. We probably wouldn’t go back for that price. There are other locations, even on the Disney properties that offer just as good food at more reasonable prices. We would even go to the Blue Bayou again before going here and the Blue Bayou is equally expensive.
I would recommend a different restaurant
The food was good, but the portions were tiny. Super expensive and pretty much customer service sucks now at Disney. We’ve come to Disney several times over the past 20 years in Florida at Disney World, and in California at Disneyland. We used to always leave feeling super happy and excited to make our next trip to come back, but this time was much different. Many of the staff seemed to have an edge for them. Some were ok but as an example I spent several hundred dollars on dinner and I was accosted for using Disney gift cards and then for sitting down in the waiting area waiting for my family to be done. I would recommend going somewhere else.
Be prepared, good food as long as you like it, the only way the arrogant chef will serve it
I was excited to finally get a reservation to eat at the famous Carthay Circle in Disney's California Adventure. Have been looking forward to it all week. Menu looks really good with a couple of minor things. I really wanted the pork chop, so I ordered it, then asked what I could get something instead of creamed corn as, to say I'm not a fan, would be an understatement. I was informed by the waits that "the chef doesn't like to serve the set, up any different than is on the menu." I'm sitting here about to drop $150-200 on a dinner with my daughter to cap off our annual Disney vacation, and because of the arrogance of the chef, I'll only get a partial meal. Won't be back. Won't be ordering an additional side as planned, wine, or dessert as had been planned. His arrogance cost his restaurant additional income tonight. I'm guessing that doesn't matter to him. I told them to keep the corn as I wouldn't touch it. Be warned, like it his way or else. I do have to say the pork chop, although lonely on the otherwise empty plate, was good.

It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
