Nice sandwiches
Tucked away behind the convention centre, the menu is very large and has both seafood and more traditional options. Fries were lovely, sandwiches were good too - the cajun chicken in particular was excellent, the cuban was nice but would have benefitted from a few less extras on the roll. Servers friendly.

Excellent food. Four different meals ordered and all of them were great (beef medallions, shrimp, two different fish dishes) and two desserts (key lime pie and chocolate molten cake). Yummy

If you have not been to Cafรฉ Blue Austin you are missing out. You simply MUST go! I walked in about 530pm, after a very long day. I sat at the bar and was greeted by Milan (bartender), who was simply amazing. She was very knowledgeable of the menu and made exceptional recommendations. I ordered the Grilled Redfish (Oscar Style) with vegetables as my side and a slice of keylime pie. While waiting for my food, I met the Manager. I hate I cannot remember her name. She came over and apologized that it was taking a little long to get my order. She insisted on giving me the slice of keylime pie (unsolicited) as an apology. Even after insisting that I was okay and that I expected the wait time for food made to order. She simply was not having it. I graciously accepted and thanked her. Also, Cafรฉ Blue gives 25% Service Men & Women discount. This is the only restaurant in downtown Austin that I know of who gives such a huge discount to military/veteran personnel. THANK YOU VERY MUCH! I was so impressed with the exceptional service that I left Milan an amazing time and I purchased six dinner gift cards for friends who I wanted to have this experience. When I returned to my hotel room, I began eating the food. Honestly, I literally teared up because it was so damn good! I bit my lip but I did not care. Oh my goodness how delicious! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND all seafood lovers experience this exceptional service and high quality food at Cafรฉ Blue (Austin). Salute to the chef and team for your attention to detail. Thank you and I'll definitely be back to DINE in this time.

Cafe Blue was awesome. I don't think anyone in our very large business group of about 20 had a single complaint. I had the Mahi Mahi, and it was the best I've ever eaten. The mashed potatoes were delectable as well. I'm not big on spinach so I'm not sure about it. The drinks were great and the service was quick and took great care of us. They're located right across the street from the Austin Convention Center so we just walked across the street for dinner. The area felt very safe.

Milan is such an excellent and professional waitress and Steve a great host as well. Both of us had the clam chowder and it remains as mouth-watering as when we were enjoying it! Also, the collection of oysters are diverse and Steve certainly knows how to match to one's taste. The restaurant is bright, inviting, friendly, and matched by the incredible staff. We've been to another nearby fish restaurant that cannot compare to the staff, service, selection, and ambience of Cafe Blue!

A colleague and I were walking around the Convention Center area looking for a dinner restaurant and found Cafe Blue. After looking at the menu we decided to dine here. There is a wide array of fish and seafood with different types of preparation that should be able to please almost anyone's preferences. What was especially refreshing was the ability to substitute sides to go with your entree at no extra charge, including a good offering of fresh vegetables that were deliciously prepared! Service was attentive but not intrusive. We both enjoyed our meals. This is a good place to dine when you're in the Convention Center neighborhood.

Early Thursday afternoon. Walking past, so I decided to check them out. Sat at bar. Josh behind bar immediately greeted me. Very 1friendly. Told me about HH specials. Ordered an Old Fashioned. Only complaint was that it didn't have a single solid ice cube . He used crushed. But told me he knows a great Old Fashioned has 1 large ice cube. In fact, he mentioned that he has tried to get those for this drink. Other than that, perfect. Brought out basket of fresh bread/butter. Good stuff. I started with 5 oysters Rockefeller on the HH menu. I thought they were very tasty. On Thursday, the special is Jerk Spiced Prime rib. Absolutely love prime rib, love Jamaicn seasoning. I know this will be way more than I can possibly eat, but gotta try it. Comes with Salad, 3 shrimp, and a baked potato. I'm only going to eat maybe half, but gotta try it. Salad was delicious. Blue cheese, assortment of fresh greens. Drank a glass of Sonoma Valley Zinfandel to compliment the prime rib, which was perfectly done. I like mine on the rare side. It was. And man, was it tasty!

The booking system was ridiculous, it refused us a 15 minutes delay, to arrive at a restaurant that was more than half empty the entire evening. Although we had a reservation, when we arrived the table wasnโt even allocated we could choose where to sit. The Service took forever before we could get something to drink. Also very unfriendly. Everybody decided on Oysters for a starter, now for a restaurant very close to the Gulf with fabulous oysters, they only offered oysters from Prince Edward Island or Massachusetts. The Steaks were okay, but the presentation was absolutely terrible. A spoonful of mashed potatoes slapped on the plate with the Steak on top, three chunks of undefinable, tasteless lump crab meat and three asparagus hurled on top. This kind of Prรคsentation at these prices is simply NOT on. Iโll certainly never go back again. There are much better restaurants in Austin.

I walk by Cafe Blue on my way to and from work so itโs very convenient to stop by and grab dinner! The clam chowder is THE BEST and the AGM Frank has always been very friendly, genuine and quick with my order.

We met an old college friend here for dinner. She had never been before but was familiar with another of the restaurant's locations. We knew we were on thin ice when there were VERY few diners. They had no record of her reservation. The waitress asked that I "point to what you want" on the menu so she'd get it right. My husband ordered the ahi tuna and she came back to ask him how he wanted his steak cooked. True, it is a tuna steak, however . . . She was VERY nice but totally unfamiliar with the menu. My salad with fried shrimp was soggy and over dressed. My husband's food was cold--tuna should be seared on the outside. It was pretty awful but we had a great time with our friend!
