Food and service nice - treatment at the end left us with sour note
We were a group of five senior ladies, including one age 95 in a wheelchair, having lunch. The food was delicious and the service from our two female servers was attentive and friendly. The bill had been paid and we were wrapping up our conversation. All good so far. Then along came an male employee, who we had not seen before.. He told us our "three hours were up" and we had to leave. Our reservation was for 12 noon - it was 2:45. The restaurant was half full. We left as ordered by your officious employee, decidedly unimpressed with his actions and with the Cactus Club policy of treating its guests this way.
Be the first to ReplyAtrocious service, mediocre food, great location
We had a very disappointing meal at Cactus Club. We felt fortunate to get in as walk ins on a Saturday night, having read good reviews and enjoying a meal here a few years back. We were seated in the lounge fairly quickly, which was great. The hostess brought us to a table that was still sopping wet from being wiped down. We asked her for a dry cloth to dry the table and she returned to do it, but was very surly about it. Our waitress took a while to get to us, which would have been fine but no one else brought water. We told her we needed just a minute to order and she disappeared for a good 15 minutes before she came back, still with no water or drinks. She took our order barely interacting with us, focused on her iPad, which resulted in one of us getting the wrong thing. We asked for waters which still took another 10 minutes to arrive, after our drinks from the bar were delivered. Our waitress never came back to check on us or refill water. The food came out in stages so we had to wait a while until the whole table had food. We had to request waters be refilled, which was done by another surly waitress who walked by us with a pitcher. The food was reasonably good but not memorable, especially for the price ($190 for 4 with 2 drinks, 1 appetizer, and 4 entrees). I waitressed for over a decade and would never have gotten away with the atrocious service we experienced. At the very least bring waters when guests are seated and be sure to check back, water pitcher in hand, and refill them. Engaging with guests at least a little will go a long way. Being at least a little friendly is even better. I would not recommend eating here, unless poor service doesn’t bother you.

We enjoyed a wonderful unplanned lunch with our friends. Beautiful view with excellent service and quality. Our server was new and did a fabulous job taking care of us.

Excited to hear they are opening one in my town! We chose it to eat near the water, but were rewarded with not only a great view, but great food as well... and upbeat ambiance! Win!
Be the first to ReplySurprisingly wonderful experience and great ambience near Canada Place - superb casual dining.
Cactus Club Coal Harbour at Canada Place Amazing and unexpected experience! I entertained friends from out of town at this gorgeous spot and the food and service were commendable. The server was appropriately attentive, our delicious meals were hot and were all brought to our table at the same time by multiple servers, and the location and views were incomparable. What a pleasant surprise, especially when I had trepidations about this chain of restaurants after my birthday dinner at the Cactus Club English Bay last fall. My dinner guests had picked at their food which was rather tasteless, and my birthday rice bowl contained raw rice and watery sauce and toppings. When I asked to have it cooked, I was informed that the chef had approved it as it was, and it was truly inedible. We all left the English Bay location feeling hungry, Fortunately, the same rice bowl was beautifully prepared at the Coal Harbour location, and I did get to enjoy my birthday dinner three months later!

Amazing restaurant with fantastic views . The food was delicious and the staff exceptionally friendly. Highly recommended for a spot to eat in downtown Vancouver in the heart of the city.
Be the first to ReplyUnprofessional staff and utilizing Barbies instead of hiring professional hostess
Unprofessional staff , they utilizing Barbies instead of real professional staff. They create and keep lineup of their customers outside in a cold weather waiting for an hour instead of creating a list with name and phone # to call guests when their table is ready
Be the first to ReplyAbsolutely superb!
Our experience was absolutely superb! We had dinner on New Year’s Eve at the Cactus Club Cafe in Coal Harbor. The whole experience was faultless. From the exceptional service, beautiful views of the city lights, jalapeño margaritas, delicious set menu dinner food (as it was New Year’s Eve and we sat waterfront) to the restaurant fitout and vibe…everything was exceptional!
Be the first to ReplyGreat place for dinner!
We had dinner here while visiting family in Vancouver. What a great location! Views of the bay were fantastic and catching the sunset there just made for a perfect night. Service was excellent (thank you, Dylan). Food was really good (Lemongrass chicken noodle salad, crispy chicken sandwich, the med bowl). And the atmosphere was great, as well. Would 100% recommend this restaurant.

Be the first to ReplyRomantic dinner with a harbor view
The food and service at this restaurant was spot on! We have a table with a great view of the harbor and the ambience was romantic. It wasn't too noisy and we had a great meal here. There are lots of options and this is definitely a place I highly recommend.
Be the first to ReplyDecent option, although not that unique
As a chain restaurant, Cactus Club in Vancouver still manages to provide an exceptional dining experience. The restaurant is consistently well-maintained and boasts a modern and stylish atmosphere. The menu features a variety of dishes with unique twists on traditional favorites, and the cocktails are always expertly mixed. The service is generally efficient and friendly, though can be a bit hit-or-miss during peak hours. While it may not be the most exciting dining option in the city, Cactus Club is a reliable choice for a delicious and enjoyable meal.

Be the first to ReplyOverpriced drinks, but good service
I came here with a pretty full crew for after dinner drinks. Staff was nice and was attentive to our food/drink orders. Drinks were a bit over priced but it was expected given the location. Would go back again.

Be the first to ReplyWe did it all- Lunch, Dinner and NYE Party
The first time we wandered into the the Cactus Cafe at Coal Harbor, was to get out of the pouring rain. We we there in the middle of the afternoon and still lots of people enjoying lunch. We sat at the bar and ordered a nice bottle of BC Rose’ sparkling wine with some appetizers. Our bartender Conner was a blast to talk with, had a fun conversation about Canadian hockey, U S College football, and hilariously- Disneyland. The 2 more bottles and some yummy cheesecake finished off our first trip perfectly. We had so much fun with Conner at lunch we decided to come back the next night for dinner. Again we sat in Conner’s area where we enjoyed the fried shrimp sushi and the chicken sliders. We had a couple of lovely bottles of Chardonnay and the cheesecake, again. I was unaware that I had made us reservations for NYE at this same Cactus Cafe location. So we decided “why not?” On NYE we sat in the bar and enjoyed people watching along with our champagne and dinner. It was a fairly low key celebration but we had very attentive service and a good time. Lastly, as I always think after a great time because the excellent service we received- “ a great waitstaff makes all the difference” And an average meal can still turn into a great night with the right service.

With a location next to the convention center, I didn't have high expectations, but the food was good! The menu is quite diverse and some of the items I had were excellent- fish tacos, poke bowl, curry and salads. What impressed us were the fresh ingredients.

Loved the place. Good food and good vibe. The lettuce wraps were delicious. Amazing cocktails as well.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent location and great food
Cactus Club Never disappointed me with their food in any location but this restaurant is especially nice location wise. The view of the water (if you get a table in the right spot) is amazing and makes the dinner experience even better. The service was great and attentive even though they were extremely busy the evening I visited. All in all a great dinner and a definite recommendation for anyone looking for nice food in a great location.
Be the first to ReplyAli and Bailey were great
We go to various CC restaurants several times yearly, and are rarely disappointed. Last night was another nice experience. More than the food though, the service from Allie and Bailey was excellent.
Be the first to ReplyThe food is just part of the experience
This restaurant is located right on the water with a great view of Stanley Park. I I I would highly recommend reservations because of the popularity of this place. We had a window set which was an awesome way to watch the sun go down. We were on a pre set menu which started with a glass of champagne and only got better from there. The service was outstanding from start to finish. I had the salmon which was cooked and seasoned just right. It came with mashed potatoes and asparagus. For dessert they had chocolate peanut butter crunch bar. It was so unbelievable.
