Little food for a lot of money
Got probably the worst table in the place, even though there were plenty of vacancies in the room. Ordered skrei. It came alarmingly fast. Very little food for NOK 400. Small piece of fish with even smaller accessories drowned in sauce. But tasted good. Two waiters who failed to cooperate but came and asked the same thing several times. Entrecote that was a bit flaky with a salad that tasted a bit strange. There was something sweet about it. Sugar?

Top class service. Takes time for his guests, explains what kind of ingredients the food is made from, and the food tasted heavenly. Here you feel valued as a guest.
Be the first to ReplyPleasant restaurant visit with good food
We were two couples who wanted dinner after a trip to the theatre. The main course duck breast (Canard) tasted excellent with the good side dishes. But the portions were at least made, presumably calculated together with starters which we therefore opted out of. With the dish we wanted white wine, and the waiter suggested a great chardonnay from the Jura (l'etoile Chardonnay, 3 times the pole price). A lovely wine for duck breast. We chose various desserts, the best was probably the water cake (Paris-Brest), but the other dishes were also good. What we remember best from the visit was the overall experience: nice interior with furniture that did not make guests feel cramped, skilled and not least pleasant waiters, pleasant atmosphere. Our waiter was French, but spoke excellent Norwegian; good knowledge of food and especially wine. He was quick when we asked for more bread, otherwise attentive and with a demeanor that indicated he wanted us well. We will be happy to return here; the place can be recommended to those who want good food and service in a French-inspired restaurant!. The price level is acceptable.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent cuisine in busy restaurant.
Well-attended restaurant, cozy, good service. We ate turbot and lamb. Both dishes were extremely well prepared. Generous portions.
Be the first to ReplyGood food, bad chairs
Good food and a very pleasant and helpful waiter. Got history and facts about the dishes we were served. The dishes tasted just fine. We had roe, tartar, turbot, whiting, Absolutely terrible chairs. Uncomfortable to sit on.
Be the first to ReplyVery nice service!
We were 4 people. The service was very pleasant, everyone smiled 😊👍 The food was good. We ate scallops and blinis together with pouilly fume white wine. Followed by lamb, guinea fowl and grilled turbot. Perhaps the sauce on the guinea fowl was a bit tight, but otherwise good food. Finished with a cheese platter and Irish. A very pleasant evening. We would love to come back.

Really nice restaurant with good food and friendly waiters. We took sharing menu everything was super tasty and nice present. I can recommend this restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyHigh hopes - disappointed
Had been recommended this place by colleagues. Have to say I was very disappointed. The service was terrible - took ages to order and then we kept having to fill our own wine. Even tough to get the bill to pay. The entrecôte was much fattier than I was expecting and the frites were bland and tasteless. Had such high hopes so a real shame.

Went there for a get-together because we all love French food. The interior is very cozy and could remind you of something French. The service however did definitely not, neither did the food. Service was not attentive, almost rude and the food was not what you'd expect when you check the prices. My chicken was not cooked through, which is a definite no-go.
Be the first to ReplyFood not impressive
Having lunch with a couple of friends. We were looking forward to try the ‘Skrei’, as it is the pefect time of the year for this fish. The fish itself was OK, but it was completely drowned in two types of fat sauces/oils, pretty tasteless, and served with mooshy overcoocked leek. A real disappointment, and noth worth the price at all. The staff was friendly and service good, but food not at all what you would expect.
Be the first to ReplyCan’t really recommend
Nice location. Ok service but the quality of the food was below expectations given the price range. Would recommend visit a less “touristey” location. If you want an ok steak or if you are not too picky with having your dishes a certain temperature and you mostly want a nice place, it’s a good restaurant. If you want high quality food, go somewhere else.

We celebrated my daughters diploma/ graduation and picked Brasseri Rivoli as we've had lovely lunches here before. And as previous times they delivered. All the dishes were made and served to perfection. A bit on the pricey end but absolutely so worth it. We'll be back!
Be the first to ReplyNot enough food - didn't feel full.
Short version: After the meal (lunch) I bought 3 meat cakes in a grocery store, which I devoured with great appetite.
Need I say more?
Some more detalil: Ordered two of the items on the menu. The steak tartar was a mini version. The beet salad consisted of 4 thin slices of "chèvre" and half a kilo of beets....
