Quiet evening at Bradleys
We have been dining at Bradleys for over ten years and during that time the quality of the food and service has remained extremely high. However, for reasons we do not understand, on our last two visits (yesterday and a couple of weeks ago) the restaurant was virtually empty. I hope this is a temporary blip (perhaps linked to what is showing at Hampstead Theatre?).
Be the first to ReplyGood but no as good as before
We had dinner here last June fir the first time and we thoroughly enjoyed, so we returned once more for a pre theatre dinner. Overall we were very satisfied. The beef, however, was very dry and not very enjoyable. It needed to be more moist. The service was very good.

I have been to this restaurant many times and the owner Simon Bradley is very amicable. We went with friends we have not seen since before COVID and we had not been able to visit this restaurant either. Since then my wife is now disabled and the website states wheelchair access. In fact it’s difficult and luckily I asked for a table in the window. I could store the wheelchair in the clock cupboard. We ordered and all the food is good as usual except the Halibut day fish was not fresh but edible. The service has slipped when the waitress hands the plate to my friend’s rather than placing it on the table. I had to ask for water and a bottle was left on the table. No assistance. When it was time to leave there was no help with holding the door for the wheelchair which is difficult through two angled doors. At 12.5% service where there was none it is very expensive. Either take off the service or offer more staff help.

I was an early walk in single female customer sitting outside. I requested a drink 4 times in 40 mins, waiters just kept rushing past me ignoring me. When my food arrived the stuffed corgette flower was rock hard inside and inedible. I felt totally sidelined and ignored the whole evening and left very disappointed as have been here many times in family groups and enjoyed but staff and friendliness has all changed sadly.

Our first visit and a very early dinner at 18:00hrs as we were going to Hampstead Theatre. We opted for the Pre Fixe Menu. We both started with the Leek and Cheddar soufflé, followed by the Grilled Fish Selection and finished with both the cheese and the Eaton Mess. All simply excellent and very well presented. It was a pleasant surprise to see that they have half bottles wine - with the theatre show coming up we didn’t want to have a full bottle. A half bottle of Gavi di Gavi at £26 was an excellent value. Excellent service as well.
Be the first to ReplyA local treat and dog friendly
I'd not been to Bradley's for years despite living literally around the corner. Last week I discovered that they were dog friendly so I was off like a shot. Firstly the food was fantastic- really good. It was a treat. The fish soup and the lamb were simply delicious. Everyone in the party of five enjoyed their food, including a fussy twelve year old. Very friendly staff. And they were not simply dog tolerant but genuinely dog friendly. They gave my dog water and steak! I was impressed that they had planned where to put us, away from other diners so the dog (who is only small but they didn't know that when I booked) did not bother others (he's very well behaved anyway otherwise I wouldn't take him) but still in a place where we felt part of the room. Hats off to Bradley's, 10/10. And a big woof from a happy miniature Schnauzer.

We visited here having booked Arabesque (next door), which was inexplicably closed when we arrived. Good, competent cooking. I ate a crab starter and perfectly cooked, medium rare rump of lamb.

Four of us, Friday night for a belated birthday celebration. Bradley's is NYC born Birthday Girl's favourite restaurant ever. Our meal was superb. I didn't even bother to look at menu: Fish soup followed by schnitzel, hold the potatoes, double the veggies. The souflees were excellent, one steak, two different fish, sides of spinach & garlicky potatoes. We drank lots... all superb. My favourite was the French Malbec. Staff lovely, helpful, friendly, lovely. I have to add the schnitzel loin is amazing... best ever. Not pounded, a different cut to the usual & unxious. Great value too. Hope to revisit soon. Xxx

It is many years since my last visit to Bradley's and yesterday's lunch with a friend made me wonder why it had been so long!
Sadly there was only one other table in use and they deserve better but these are tough times in the hospitality industry.
There is a range of menu options, a set menu (£26 for three courses), a Prix Fixe menu (£35 for three courses) as well as the A La Carte.
We opted for the Prix Fixe with starters of Fish Soup or a Chees and Leek Souffle, mains of Grilled Fish selection or Vienna Schnitzel Holstein and dessert of a Meringue, Creme Mousseline, Rhubarb and Blood Orange or Cheese.
All the food was well cooked, elegantly presented and tasted fresh and good.
The wine list is exceptionally good value and our bottle of Cremant de Jura was most enjoyable.
There has obviously been a makeover since my last visit and the dark grey colour scheme is a bit sombre but not off putting.
Service was efficient without being familiar and I will certainly return much sooner next time.
Brilliant
What a find. Delicious food and wine. Excellent staff and welcoming atmosphere. Wish I lived nearer - I’d be there regularly. Very special restaurant.

My two recent dining experiences at Bradley's were outstanding. Advertised as a European kitchen, the French touch of the chef and waiters raises it immediately to excellence in taste, presentation and service. I enjoyed a lovely fresh fish dish, and an inspired vegetarian main course. Attention to detail and creativity in the delicately balanced seasoning, plus an interesting wine selection and delicious desserts. I felt totally pampered.
Be the first to ReplyA super Sunday lunch
We could not fault the delicious Sunday lunch we enjoyed yesterday. From the freshly baked, delicious focaccia, the perfect soufflé and fish soup starters, to the top quality roast beef, crisp roast potatoes and the excellent Yorkshire pudding, crowned with the outstanding chocolate pave dessert, this was the best food we have eaten since lockdown. The service matched the food.

We were here for dinner one evening. Our experience was fantastic right from the warm welcome and the food to the brilliant service. My gourmet burger was cooked to perfection and the chocolate pave Devine!. Quite easily the best meal I’ve had in a very long time.

Had dinner with a friend and the food was lovely. The fact that the restaurant has “daily fish” on the menu is indicative of fresh fish. Highly recommended
Be the first to ReplyTruly Superb Food...
I have been using this restaurant for some years now and always for birthdays or special occasions. It is consistently excellent on food quality and preparation so I have never been disappointed. This is fine dining at reasonable prices.
Go as often as you can, espcially in these strange times, it will lift your spirits...
