Hard to beat
This is the best restaurant in Mayfair run by the unmatched Gavin Rankin. The classic food is cooked to perfection. The steak tartare is the best in London. A superb wine list is fairly priced and the service impeccable under the supervision of the famous Luigi. A proper place for lunch dinner or a special occasion.
Be the first to ReplyImpressed by refined european cooking in a classic, understated setting in Mayfair
First time dining at Bellamy's and we did not leave disappointed. Nestled just off of Berkley Square, the restaurant serves mainly european cuisine with a beautiful classic bar upon entrance and then an elegant, understated, old-school dining room off to the left. We started off with cocktails at the bar before heading off for dinner in the dining room. As a party of 2, we ordered the whitebait and tuna sashimi to start which were both simple but delicious. We both ordered rare steaks, spinach and frites for mains, which were juicy and cooked perfectly. To finish off the meal we both ordered puddings, including a lovely crumble. We were also treated to some delicious wines from a great, extensive wine menu. Overall, we had a fantastic dinner at Bellamy's with delicious food, great wine, good service, and a buzzy, old school atmosphere. I look forward to visiting again.
Be the first to ReplyGreat find
My husband and I had previously been here for a quick lunch and had been very impressed. We decided to book for a family friends dinner and I’m very pleased we did. From the minute we walked in the door to when we left we had a really lovely evening. We had drinks in the bar first which was lovely. The service was excellent throughout the evening all of the staff were extremely attentive and thoughtful without being too much! The menu is small but there is more than enough to chose from and all of our food was delicious. There is absolutely nothing I would change about our evening, thank you all very much we will definitely be back !

Bellamy’s lived up to our expectations for our first visit. The service was excellent and attentive. The food was delicious and attractive. My cep croquette starter was full of flavour and the steak tartare well seasoned. The prices were very reasonable for Mayfair. Only downside was that we had expected a quieter environment but a birthday celebration of about 20 put paid to that! However we were moved without fuss to a quieter table and peace restored! We will certainly visit again.
Be the first to ReplyReliably fine and versatile Mayfair restaurant
Bellamy's is a fantastic Mayfair gem with a typically understated elegance and rather excellent Brasserie style French cuisine. As much suited to dinner for one's wife's birthday as it is for a business lunch on a Wednesday. The Lobster souffle was very light and perfectly poised, and the Steak Tartare and veal piccata very well executed. The service was wonderfully attentive and we were made to feel very much part of the little club despite not having visited in many years.
Be the first to ReplyVery nice food and very good service.
We very much enjoyed our visit. They appear to have quite a few regulars and I can see why. The service was excellent. I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyQuite simply, the finest restaurant in London.
The lobster starter was exquisite, the entrecōte of beef so tender, and the Tunisian Orange Almond sponge.....delicious. This is a really remarkable restaurant and I would urge anybody, in search of fine cuisine in the heart of London, to enjoy this fabulous restaurant. Gavin Rankin is a star! And so are the men and women he employs to make this such a very special place.
Be the first to ReplyReasonable food, front of house was too rushed and the noise at lunchtime was awful.
Went for lunch for the first time the other week and have been pondering on the experience. I remember the food as being good but not memorable and the front of house seemed to be rushing around as if another couple of staff were needed. The wine was good and as a brasserie it stood up well. It seems to be much of a club and, for us, that was the problem. Everyone was talking and the is not much soft fabric in the room to absorbe the noise. Because of the chatter all the voices were raised and my enduring recollection of the experience was almost having to shout so my wife could hear me across the table. Maybe we were unlucky but it was not until well after two o'clock that we felt happy about the atmosphere. I doubt we will try again.

Was underwhelmed by the food, which was OK but not what you’d expect for the price. The service was fine. It was packed at lunchtime so obviously knows its market, which doesn’t appear to be me!
Be the first to ReplyDid not meet expectations
Staffing was lacklustre. Wine waiter was unable to answer simple questions about the wine. Food waiter seemed utterly confused and unable to explain what accompanied dishes. Waited until I had ordered (with wine which had been served) to tell me that the main course I had asked for was unavailable. The lobster souffle, which sounded interesting, just seemed like a cold salmon mousse. Monkfish was overcooked - not springy at all, quite mushy. I asked for petit fours. I was given a plate of profiteroles. Nothing fatal by itself, but in aggregate, a fairly unimpressive (nearly embarrassing as I chose the venue) lunch given the pricing and commensurate standards expected. Entirely possible that I caught them on a bad day.

It is many months since I last ate in Bellamys. This charming restaurant just off Berkeley square owned by Gavin Rankin and run with the able assistance of Luigi and Sergio with the delightful Cheryl behind the oyster bar. I believe she is the only female oyster shucker in the West End. We had a delicious lunch of Rossmore native oysters, chilled lobster souffle, sashimi of yellow fin tuna and smoked eel mousse. for our main courses we had a Brazilian vegetable casserole, skate Grenobloise, steak tartare, piccata of veal. All dishes we beautifully presented and the service was immaculate. An orange and almond cake followed along with a parfait of chocolate. we drank and excellent Rully and a Cru Beaujolais. this is a really happy restaurant and Chef Stefan is an excellent chef. Can't wait to go back well worth a visit. Booking is essential as it gets very busy.
Be the first to ReplyGood enough
A favourite place to eat but did not match expectations. There was trouble in the kitchen. Quite an international clientele. Perfect for a special lunch, romantic lunch, business lunch or just a moment on your own away from the madding crowds. Do book if you want a table.
First we had the prawn cocktail which was excellent. Impeccable presentation, large juicy deveined prawns on perfectly ripe avocado..We ordered Dover sole, it took forever to arrive. It proved good, but the potatoes had been hanging around. The spinach was extra and perfect. However the steak was inedible, it had been standing for ages whilst the fish was being cooked. I would have had dessert had we not been there for so long already. I have always wanted to try their Île Flottante.
We did not complain we were guests and everywhere can have a bad day. I would go again, Bellamy's has the benefit of the doubt, on this occasion it was not as good as it should have been but I am sure it will be back on form next time we visit.
There is a cloakroom and attendant, somehow she always recognises whose coat belongs to whom. Like magic.
A fabulous evening to be repeated
A thoroughly lovely restaurant; it’s exudes a deserved confidence that is not stuffy or too ostentatious. The food was wonderful and the service perfectly delivered with style, panache and humility.
Overall the restaurant is a perfect place to enjoy an evening as the buzz of others voices enjoy the same wonderful experience; it seems to encourage enjoyment rather then the manner in which so many restaurants take themselves too seriously…‘it’s all about the food’…here the fine food and service is an a compliment to a fun evening
Very well done, we’ll certainly be returning and recommending the place to others
Overall excellent.
Generally excellent. Service was perfect and so was the ambiance. Excellent wine list at reasonable prices. The Sancerre at £58 was just perfect. We all had the tuna: three of us medium rare and one rare. All of them were just medium, no red insight. The cover charge of £10 was a bit over the top.

A classic menu in an elegant subdued atmosphere with white table cloths and outstanding service. Faultless.

We make it a point to return when in London. We love the Dover Sole usually but we tried other dishes. The veal was superb. We love the location on Bruton Place.
The manager is one of the best and is always welcoming.
Right now they are not open on Sundays or Mondays. We would have returned at the end of our trip but it’s great to be able to dine there again what ever their schedule.
They have a beautiful wine list .
Very good indeed.
Ideally situated in Bruton place. Very attractive atmosphere and decoration with attentive staff. Excellent menu and wine list. Overall a very positive experience

The service was astoundingly good. Attentive, polite, informative and generous. The food also superb. It wasn't busy. Monday evening. Early doors. I expect that helped, but even so, everything was excellent.
